Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong

Chapter 1343: Unusual Developments (2)

Leo Ray took his seat at the conference table, scanning across the group of scouts, noticing not only the scout commander from the allies, but also a human commander among them.

She wore a half-rose mask, revealing only a pair of sparkling eyes and scarlet lips. Her black stealth attire outlined her shapely, tall figure—it was Hill, the leader of the Hunter's Moon Mercenary Group.

Leo Ray had heard of Hill, the renowned mercenary powerhouse in the various human countries, even before taking control of the Mercenary Guild. Introduced by Grey Elder, Leo Ray had met her several times, exchanged a few words, and considered each other acquainted.

Apart from her prominent titles as the leader of the Hunter's Moon Mercenary Group and a Diamond-level mercenary, Hill has another identity: the great-granddaughter of Grey Elder, undoubtedly inheriting the skills of the strongest assassination master among the humans.

"Thank you all for your hard work. Time is tight, please report the latest information immediately."

Leo Ray nodded to the scouts and spoke.

From the reports of the scouts, Leo Ray quickly compiled all the latest news.

Currently, there are four forces from the Outer Region to the north of the Rift Valley: The Minotaur Kingdom, the Giant Troll Tribe Alliance, the Flower Fairy City-State, and the Dragonborn Kingdom.

These forces are distributed north of the Rift Valley, all blocking borders, amassing heavy troops, and entering a comprehensive wartime state; everywhere you look, there's tension resembling the brink of war.

"There are four major forces?"

Leo Ray nodded slightly, then inquired further with the scouts: "Is there anything else you need to add?"

"Your Majesty, I have additional information."

A crisp and efficient voice rang out, and Hill stepped forward, respectfully placed a hand on her chest and greeted: "In the outer reaches of the Dragonborn Kingdom, I saw many Half-Elf powerhouses appear, seemingly collaborating with the Dragonborn?"

"Understood, Half-Elf powerhouses appearing in Dragonborn cities, and signs of collaboration—isn't this unusual at this juncture?"

Leo Ray first nodded to Hill, then turned to Broy, Crisis, and Shuert, asking: "What do you make of this?"

"Your Majesty of the Humans is correct; Dragonborns are known for their caution and rarely cooperate with other forces. Now the situation is suddenly tense, yet Half-Elf powerhouses are showing up—obviously unusual."

Crisis first agreed with Leo Ray's view, then turned to Hill and asked: "Human General, can you identify which kind of elf-mixed Half-Elf they are?"

Upon hearing Crisis's question, Leo Ray thoughtfully nodded.

The Elf Tribe consists of three branches: Forest Elves, Light Elves, and Dark Elves.

Correspondingly, Half-Elves naturally have three branches. Whether Jasper Richardson's Moonwhite Tribe or Qiana's Moon Chaser Clan, they belong to the Forest Half-Elf branch.

"Clan Leader of the Wood Fairy, I can confirm they are Light Half-Elves because their skin appears distinctly fairer, and they like to apply gold Magic Powder on their faces as decoration."

Hill responded without hesitation.

"So they're Light Half-Elves? Things have gotten complicated."

Broy heard this, and his brow furrowed deeply as he spoke: "Unlike the other two Half-Elf branches, Light Half-Elves are closely linked with the Light Elves and often appear as their agents. Now that they're present in Dragonborn territories, the implications are clear."

"Dwarf Elf Your Majesty, you're suggesting there's a shadow of the Light Elf Race behind this?"

Leo Ray quickly understood, likewise furrowing his brow.

"Indeed, the Light Elves stand as transcendental beings at the peak of power. If they act personally, destroying us would be as effortless as crushing an ant."

Broy shrunk his neck, his voice noticeably softer.

"Dwarf Elf Your Majesty, fear not, those peak powers won't act impulsively; otherwise, they wouldn't send agents to the Dragonborn Kingdom."

Shuert pondered briefly, then said: "Don't forget that the arch-enemies of the Light Elves aren't just the Dark Elves; there are other forces that could constrain them. Any rash actions would give arch-enemies the opportunity they need."

"I agree with Elder Shuert's perspective. Additionally, these peak races are very conscious of their reputation; acting lightly would earn them a villainous reputation for bullying the weak."

Crisis thought for a moment, then furrowed her brow and said: "The key issue is why the Light Half-Elves have come to the Dragonborn territory?"

"This is precisely the question we urgently need to unravel; it's likely the crux of the sudden emergence of war clouds among the four forces."

Leo Ray gently stroked his chin and responded: "Once we solve this question, we'll understand the current situation."

"Your Majesty's speculation makes sense. From my knowledge, whether it's Minotaurs, trolls, Flower Fairies, or Dragonborns, although they've clashed to some extent in the past, this kind of full mobilization has never occurred. Clearly, this critical point is extraordinary."

On Shuert's carved wooden-like old face was a solemn expression; he pondered and said: "Otherwise, the Light Elves wouldn't send the Light Half-Elves."

"Key points that can even alarm the peak powers truly are extraordinary."

Broy's steadfast face was likewise tense, he said solemnly: "But how shall we understand this key point? Should we send envoys to inquire?"

"No, that must not be done."

Leo Ray rejected Broy's idea, saying: "Currently, with the four forces so tense, it's evident they're ready to solve issues through combat power. If we intervene hastily, they may see us as an unstable factor or a competitor, and they might prioritize eliminating our interference."

"Your Majesty of the Humans speaks wisely, we've just gone through a major battle; not only are the generals very fatigued, but we've also exhausted many trump cards. Under these circumstances, even dealing with one force alone will come at a great cost, not to mention facing all four."

Crisis sighed helplessly, shook her head, and said.

On hearing this, Shuert and Broy both showed similar expressions.

Originally, although their strength compared to the opponents differed, it wasn't to an extreme degree. However, after the fierce battle centuries ago, they were all greatly weakened, and the constraints of the Shadow Market made recovery difficult.

Moreover, having just faced the battle at the Dragon Nest, they've almost depleted their reserves, including all that was provided by Leo Ray, making this situation not surprising.

Fortunately, Leo Ray simultaneously upgraded a large quantity of permanent strength-enhancing Magic Medicine exclusive to Wood Fairies and Dwarf Elves, along with a vast array of equipment. Given some time, strength will rise quickly.

Though the Treants are somewhat special and cannot enhance their strength similarly, once they discover a way to restore Life Force to the forest, the Treants will undoubtedly return to their peak state.

But the problem is these can't be accomplished immediately, and the tense atmosphere has already swept over.

For a moment, a sense of unease quietly emerged within the Command Hall.

"Your Majesty of the Humans, what do you consider our next step should be?"

After a moment of silence, Crisis took a deep breath, asking Leo Ray.

"I believe the best response now is to do everything possible to enhance defense and then observe the changes, preventing potential war from spreading to us."

Leo Ray gently snapped his fingers and responded: "Bear in mind we're merely being cautious against unforeseen events. At present, not only is the key point unclear, but whether these four forces are mutually antagonistic or allied remains unknown."

"So, let this sudden war storm continue for a while longer, and let's see where it falls or is about to fall."

Leo Ray's voice was steady and strong as he concluded: "If it attempts to approach us, we'll make it pay an unbearable price."

Upon hearing Leo Ray's words, everyone was thoughtfully nodding, and their morale lifted accordingly.
