Chapter 350

Moving along the broken road for a stretch, reaching not far from the castle, Lu Ren slowly halted his steps, watching the three humanoid figures sitting by the campfire ahead, dressed in full steel armor.

They can indeed only be called humanoid; these beings lifted their visors and were slowly devouring corpses of their kind, their eyes appearing murky, almost devoid of consciousness.

Lu Ren looked up at the sunset gradually setting in the west, and another companion moon slowly rising on the other side.

This satellite was relatively close; one could see the impact craters from meteors with the naked eye, the whole being about five or six stories tall.

Perhaps sensing Lu Ren's movements, several steel-armored soldiers made a deep growl-like sound from their throats, closed their visors, stood up, unsheathed their steel swords, and charged at Lu Ren with their long halberds.

Lu Ren's expression remained calm. Although this world suppressed outsiders greatly, it didn't mean he couldn't use his abilities. He just tried to keep a low profile, not drawing attention and attracting the gaze of unknown entities.

The higher his power, the more cautious Lu Ren felt he needed to be.

He shifted his footing slightly, his figure lightly turning, pulling out his longsword, piercing through the gaps between the steel-armored soldiers. The sword was sharp, tearing through the air instantly. Within half a second, the three charging steel-armored soldiers were defeated.

To prevent these steel soldiers from resurrecting, Lu Ren thoughtfully prepared several killing blows.

The old, chipped longsword in his hand precisely attacked through the visor gaps, armor gaps, targeting vital points.

"Ding, you have killed the undead polluted soldiers."

Mad, by now there's no skill level increase?

Lu Ren frowned inwardly but didn't mind too much. Honestly, if he unleashed his power, these charging steel-armored soldiers would just need to enter his aura range; Lu Ren could eradicate their souls with just a look.

Lu Ren wasn't in a hurry to move forward but crouched down, removed the armor from the steel soldiers, and carefully studied, dissected those so-called undead polluted soldiers.

Is immortality also pollution?

With curiosity, Lu Ren worked for half a day until the moon rose in the sky, a star river stretching north and south. He finally stopped with some contemplation.

The corpses of these three soldiers have been dismantled beyond recognition. He finally confirmed that these people's cells had mutated.

The cells didn't undergo the aging mechanism but stayed in a relatively static state. However, once active, the energy consumption was intense, even showing signs of collapse.

Yet, when motion stopped and feeding resumed, the cells stabilized internally.

What a useless form of immortality.

Lu Ren concluded in his heart that these steel soldiers' souls had been completely altered in shape, so although they remembered combat techniques in life, they were no different from zombies, no more than beasts aimlessly wandering familiar places.

These beings were likely sacrificed for power of immortality.

Lu Ren changed his sword, contemplating, gazing at the steel-armored soldiers wandering ahead, and walked over with a longsword.

Half an hour later, Lu Ren sheathed his sword, the brown blood on its blade giving off a ominous aura.

Lu Ren did not intend to try releasing Ten Earth True Qi externally.

The Yang Grand Power of Ten Earth True Qi didn't fit this world; once unfolded, Lu Ren believed this world would boil entirely, elevating his alertness to the highest level, and due to rejection, innumerable creatures might rush for a duel.

Ninety-nine percent chance of him facing a crowd.

Finding a soldier's body similar in build to his, Lu Ren stripped it of clothing, went to the nearby creek, washed the grime carefully, even condensed Buddha Light with his Bodhisattva Path Fruit in his arm to wash once through, making the entire steel armor somewhat divine before wearing it.

"Let's settle with this."

Lu Ren sighed slightly, minding not to wash excessively. Overdoing could lead to adverse happenings.

Even now, creatures with consciousness might find his steel armor somewhat out of place.

Especially in this darkly filled world, appearing somewhat conspicuous.

Returned and searched for a decent-looking great sword.

"Ding, you have obtained Gore Greatsword, the great sword seems to contain strange power, needing corresponding battle talisman for release."

Gore Greatsword?

Lu Ren raised an eyebrow; it's rare for the system to hint about equipment!

Could it be divine soldier?

Lu Ren couldn't help but press the sword of Gore Greatsword.

With a moment's burst of muscle, the Gore Greatsword shattered instantly, fragmented by Lu Ren's incredible strength, scattered across the ground.

Lu Ren: "..."

"Ding, congratulations host for successfully destroying Gore Greatsword."

The system's notification sounded overly mocking.

Lu Ren, expressionless, retrieved the previously decent-looking great sword and hung it on his waist.

He didn't have much regret, for a weapon that broke with moderate force, how good could it be?

Lu Ren grumbled inwardly as he walked toward the castle.

Approaching the castle gates, Lu Ren saw a figure enveloped in a gray robe, a large hood fully covering their head from a distance.

To see their face, one would have to kneel and look upwards.

A bunch of hooded figures.

Lu Ren didn't stop at all; upon entering the ten-meter range, the gray-robed figure finally moved, lifting their hood to reveal their face.

This revealed a woman with short flaxen hair, around twenty-five or twenty-six years old, her features completely different from the Oriental, with deep eye sockets and a high nose bridge adding exotic flair.

She was a beautiful woman.

She looked straight at Lu Ren, a hint of joy in her eyes.

"From a distant place, wandering soul, I've finally awaited you."

A peculiar voice, but Lu Ren was surprised to understand.

"Who are you?"

"I am Clara, messenger of Aier Land."

Clara said, "Before the goddess slept, she told me that a living person from a distant exotic realm would come to end it all here."

Lu Ren asked, "Goddess, who?"

"Aier, the goddess's name is Aier!" Clara spoke warmly and devoutly. "She created Aier Land and brought peace, but a catastrophe completely destroyed this place."

Following an NPC-like character is akin to exploring as a traveler; might stumble upon unexpected discoveries.
