Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 1039: 1036: Void Crystal

One of Corey's goals in this timeline was to find out the identity of the Clown, and since he had no more information to gain from the Clown, he decided to remove his mask instead.

However, as he was about to touch the Clown's mask, the Clown quickly spoke.

"Hey! Hey! Hey! Don't do that. If you do that-"

But Corey did not bother to listen. He believed that it was an attempt of the Clown to stall for time and delay him.

'I've sealed him using my void force, so although his head looks like it's right in front of me, it's actually so far away from because I've manipulated the space and time around his head.'

'I've also sealed the mana veins in his head, making it that he can't move any sort of energy in his head.'

'No matter what he does with his head, he can't stop me from finding out his true identity. The only way he can stop me is if his puppets attempt to attack me, but I'm also prepared for that.'

'Now, you despicable Clown. Show me who you truly are. Show me your identity.'

The Clown tried speaking once again, but Corey ignored him. He held the mask, and then he pulled it.

But in the next moment, his eyes widened in disbelief and his instincts scream at him.

"Damn it."

Corey cursed as he looked at the Clown's head along with the mask, began melting into blood.

"I tried warning you, but you won't listen to me."

Corey gritted his teeth, and then he unwillingly flung the Clown's head far away from him.

A few moments later, the head is exploded into a bloody mist.

Corey's expression was extremely dark when he saw this, and his Ears of Omniscience picked up on a sound. He looked in the direction of the body of the Clown, and it also turned into a pool of blood, and then it dried up.

"Tch."

Corey clicked his tongue in annoyance, and then he looked at the army of the Clown.

A few moments later, one of the Tier 6 mages walked to the front of the army.

With every step he took, his body began to change. Before, the mage had light brown hair and a fairly muscular build, but that changed.

His hair became long and its color changed from light brown to blood red. His body became leaner, but strangely more compact. His lips were curled into a very eerie bright smile, and the Clown's mask began to appear on the mage's face little by little.

When the mage stops at the forefront of the army, he was no longer the mage but the Clown.

"Hmm. Kugh. Gurgh."

The Clown held his throat and made weird sounds, almost like he was configuring the throat to be able to speak like his original self.

A few seconds later, he got the hang of it, and then he spread his arms out wide.

"Tada. Surprise. I'm back from the dead."

Corey's face was completely expressionless as he looked at the Clown. His focus was on the Clown's mask.

'That mask... I inspected it and every single thing in the Clown's head, but it had such a hidden function.'

'One, I can't see through it no matter how much I push my Eyes of Omniscience. Anytime I try to see the Clown's face behind the mask, all I see is nothing. Just a swirling darkness... The most annoying function.'

'It also regenerates along with the head its attached to.'

'And the hidden function... If anybody tries to remove the mask, or if anybody touches the mask with the intention of finding out the identity of the owner, it would melt the face of the owner and explode the owner's head.'

'I don't know if it was the Clown that put such a formation on the mask or if it was originally there. However, very few people would be able to use the mask since only those who can regenerate their head without dying, or those who are immortal like the Clown would be able to survive the mask.'

'But... it's rather annoying. The formation only showed up when I grabbed the mask and nearly removed it... It's like it was never there in the first place.'

'How annoying.'

Corey clicked his tongue inwardly, and then the Clown spoke.

"Are you sad about not being able to find out my identity? Don't be, Corey. I'm sure if you continue playing the game for as long as possible, you'll eventually figure out my identity."

"What is this game you've been talking about?"

The Clown chuckled. "Oh silly, it's a game to crown the king."

"What?" Corey was truly baffled, and the Clown shrugged nonchalantly.

"Oh well, time for talking is over... Let's fight now."

Corey looked at the Clown with an expressionless face, and then he looked to his left.

The Clown was about to order his puppets to attack Corey, but he also sensed a familiar presence in the direction Corey was looking at.

When he saw Pope Arzhel and Tessa, his eyes shone with a bright mischievous light.

"Ohh. You guys are finally here. Wonderful."

Pope Arzhel looked at the Clown, and then the army behind him with a deep frown.

"So it was you. You're the monster behind the scenes."

The Clown chuckled. "You're calling me a monster? I think you should look in the mirror, Pope."

Pope Arzhel's frown deepened, and Corey suddenly appeared in front Tessa.

The Pope's eyes widened when he sensed the aura emanating from Corey, and then he tried to move toward Corey and Tessa.

However, chains made out of poison appeared from the ground and bound him tightly. His arms, legs, neck, torso, head, and even mouth were bound by the chains.

"Hey there, Anna."

Corey smiled at Tessa while holding her hand, and Tessa's pupils trembled violently. Her lips parted open to speak, but Corey blew a sleeping poisonous mist on her face.

She tried to summon a barrier to prevent the poisonous mist from touching her, but Corey interfered with her mana circulation through her hand which he was holding.

"Sorry sis. Just sleep for some time. When you wake up, things would be more peaceful."

As Tessa fell into a deep sleep, Corey caught her before she fell to the ground, and then he engulfed her body with his Void Force.

A few moments later, her body became encased in a dark grey void crystal, and when Corey clenched his fists, the void crystal became as tiny as a thumb.
