After the blue district was the red district where common nobles lived alongside those who were above average in the kingdom, such as viscounts and barons and others with similar positions.
The very last district was the black district, where those at the bottom of the hierarchy resided, such as normal commoners, simple merchants, farmers and others. This was were Su Ping was currently located.
Traveling in-between each district would normally take days or months on horseback or carriage but, with the transportation gates developed at fixed points throughout the kingdom, this wasn't an issue.
The only issue was the toll needed to use the teleportation gates, depending on how far one wanted to travel, the toll would increase. For commoners, this was a huge issue since most of them couldn't even afford the toll because of how extravagant it was. Even if they worked for years. One of the reasons for this was because the teleportation gates ran on mana stones and depending on the district one wanted to teleport to, the price might skyrocket.
Only well known individuals or at least, the rich, could truly afford to use them. In a way, everything created within the kingdom was secretly for the benefit of the nobles and not the commoners. Sometimes, the operatives stationed near the teleportation gates might even extort some extra gold from the commoner's.
This went to prove just how corrupt the kingdom was beneath the surface. Of course these operatives though twice before extorting influential individuals or things related to them, like merchants transporting goods from district to district.
"...?" Su Ping who was lost in thought suddenly heard something strange. He payed closer attention before his expression darkened.
[Dark Sphere]
Su Ping got off the cart before covering it with a layer of defense.
" You sensed something?" Rugard stepped out of his cart, he was the first to notice Su Pings abnormality.
" Brother, is something the matter?" The adventurer on watch duty walked over.
" Wake up the other's, they're coming quickly!" Su Pings expression darkened more and more by the second.
" Brother what are you talking about, who're coming?" The adventurer was surprised by Su Pings change in demeanor.
" It's monsters isn't it." Rugard easily understood what Su Ping said. " How many are they." He was curious, after all, Su Ping had never shown him this level of apprehension before, even when they faced tens of goblins.
The ground suddenly began to shake before Su Ping could speak, The Adventurers face began to pale in fright .
" What's going on."
" Is it an earthquake?"
" What's with all the commotion." The old man was awakened by all the noise but when he saw everyone's expressions, he instantly realized that it wasn't them.
" Mister what's going on! Why's the ground shaking." Esmeralda's head popped out of the carriages window. Her eyes looked fearful, unlike her usual conceited self.
" Please don't be alarmed young miss, we'll get you out of here as soon as possible."
" What are you all waiting for!" The captain screamed before springing to his feet, grabbing his blade.
" Its a monster tide, everyone to your battle stations. We have to protect the young miss at all costs."
" Yes Captain!" The adventurer's hurried back to their mounts. While also making sure to pack all their belongings.
" Why aren't you doing anything." Rugard looked worried and tried to leave but Su Ping grabbed him by the shoulder, stopping him.
" I'm not leaving." Su Ping whispered.
" Are you crazy!" Rugard exclaimed in shock but hurriedly lowered his voice to a whisper when he realized he was causing a scene. " Listen to me, this is a darn monster tide! A monster tide is usually led by a powerful Level 3 monster."
"i might be a Lvl 3 necromancer but, Even I don't dare to go against a monster tide, they may mostly consist of Lvl 1 and 2 monsters yet the sheer numbers of them are enough to overwhelm anyone."
" Some even have a fair share of Lvl 3 monsters."
" I suggest you think about your family. Don't tell me your finally willing to put their lives in harm's way. Whatever it is your seeking out of this ordeal, I don't think it's worth it."
" I have no such intentions, that's why you'll take the caravan and follow after the Old man." Rugard was stunned by his reply, his mind finding it hard to believe. The demons had just suggested to hand over his most prized possessions to him?
Rugard couldn't help but wonder if this was some kind of joke but when he saw Su Pings serious face, he gritted his teeth before giving in.
" Fine but you better die this time around." Rugards smile returned to his face, since it was obvious he didn't want to listen to reason, why should he care, if Su Ping died wouldn't that mean that he would no longer have any issues with pursuing his wife?
" If someone's dying then I'm afraid it won't be me." Rugard chuckled at his remark, this demon always seemed different from what he expected.
" You two, are you waiting to get eaten!" Said the old man, his face distressed. He just took a little nap yet now they were about to face something unprecedented. They were supposed to be seasoned adventurer's, not rookies on their first quest.
" Sorry Sir! We're almost done." said Rugard before hurrying back to the carts.
Su Ping undid the dark sphere before waking up Melinda and telling her what he wanted to arrange.
" No, I won't allow it." Su Pings straw hat almost feel off when his wife suddenly latched on him. Su Ping turned silent, he had a feeling she would be against it, fortunately for him, the children didn't wake up because of the slight disturbance which looked comical since they were comfortable in their sleep even while a unknown danger was making it's way towards them.
" You promised you wouldn't do anything this dangerous again. Can't we all just leave together." Melinda's stared at her husband's masked face, her eyes moistened as if she was ready to sob at any moment.
