Now, Dorian was standing right in front of the white dragon, his arms folded as his eyes were glued to its massive form.
Maria was, of course, still right next to him, though her shock was still heavily hinted on her features.
The dragon, on the other hand, was seated, carrying an excited look on its face as it glanced back at Dorian.
[The skill Analysis is currently active.]
[Name: ??? | Rank: Special Rank Monster | Class: Disaster Class | Special Abilities: Blue Flames, Spatial Manipulation, Shapeshifting, etc.]
Dorian sighed.
'At least my analysis skill works on this dragon, unlike with Ciel.'
Since Ciel had gone into hibernation, refusing to leave her quarters, Dorian had no choice but to handle the rest himself.
From what he understood, in the past few days, the workers had been tossing meat and dead animals into the cave for both the white dragon and Dorian's fire beast monster to eat.
They didn't dare to walk into the cave, mainly because they knew a dragon was there, which was the only reason they resorted to throwing the food in from outside.
With every meal, the dragon grew in size until it became as big as it was right then.
It was nowhere near as big as Ciel in her dragon form.
That said, for one to grow this large in just a couple of days was truly frightening.
Suddenly, Dorian asked, "Do you have a human form?"
"Human form?" the white dragon asked back, its head tilted to the side in confusion.
'Ah, I see, so this dragon can't. I guess Ciel is truly the exception here. I wonder if this dragon is male or female…'
[Answer: This dragon is of a lesser species and has the innate mana needed to nurture eggs. Only female dragons can nurture the eggs of a Monarch dragon.]
'So, a female then.'
Dorian smiled. "I guess this is where I welcome you to the family and also where I grant you a name, since we can't exactly be calling you just 'the white dragon'."
"Really?!"
The white dragon moved forward, her head on the ground while her big green eyes remained on Dorian, fluttering with excitement.
"Is Father going to give me a name? I can't wait!"
The fact she was calling him father bothered Dorian a bit, but he could only shrug it off with a few nervous chuckles.
"Let's see, a name, hmmm…" Dorian thought for a while, thinking of possible names that would be fitting for a dragon. "How about… Celes?"
"I love it!" The white dragon moved forward even more, her face now touching Dorian's body.
To keep his balance, Dorian had to place one hand on her head, while he laughed a bit.
'I was going to say Celestial, but I guess Celes is good enough.'
Maria sighed.
At this point, she had made up her mind that nothing involving Dorian could truly surprise her again, but this was far different.
A talking dragon, two dragons, and multiple dragon eggs. She doubted if there was truly anyone who would not be jaw-dropped by this.
Moments later, after Dorian had spent most of the time bonding with Celes, he moved to the other room where he could see Ciel still sleeping on the small rock, in her dragon form.
She was most likely drained from having to coat and nurture the eggs with her mana for days; the rest was just a way for her to restore her exhausted energy.
As such, he figured it was best not to disturb her. Instead, he moved on to the next part, his other and main reason for visiting the cave.
Now that the incubator had been built, he began filling it up with the dragon eggs, alongside the help of the workers.
It took them a couple of hours to finally get everything ready, with a total of 40 eggs being arranged into the newly built incubator.
Once all the eggs had been stored, Dorian began his own task, which was to fill the magic crystals with his own dragon mana.
He did just that for the next few hours. People who watched as he filled all 30 magic crystals could have sworn there were often times he almost lost consciousness, only for his mana to be refilled back as though it could never finish.
With each magic crystal filled with dragon mana, they began to fit them into the slots, allowing the volcanic paste to spread the mana to every single dragon egg present in the incubator.
Finally, the incubator was active.
'Far easier than I expected,' Dorian uttered in his mind while standing in front of the dragon egg incubator.
Maria was beside him, and the workers were at the side, impressed at their work and knowing it was operating perfectly with no faults whatsoever.
From an outside view, the incubator looked like a wooden platform with walls, but upon taking a closer look, one could tell the eggs were absorbing the mana being delivered to them at an alarming rate.
Maria looked at Dorian and asked,
"With this, you are planning to speed up the birth of the dragons?" The look on her face spoke volumes—the face of a woman who knew nothing else could freak her out about her lord again.
Dorian simply replied with a single finger raised.
"Yes, precisely. Though there is a chance they might not all be dragons, it's still a win for us regardless." He turned to the incubator and pressed his palm on its body.
"From my calculations, my mana should run out in about two months. We just have to see how fast these eggs can hatch, whether it will be before my mana runs out, or after."
Everyone, of course, had the same question: how does Lord Dorian have the mana to actually cause Dragon eggs to mature and hatch? A feat like that was far beyond labeling it as a miracle.
Lord Dorian was clearly something far greater than they could have ever imagined him to be.
Still, instead of bombarding him with these questions, they chose to observe his greatness with happiness, knowing they had no chance of standing at the same height as him, not in a million years.
The dragon incubator had been made and activated. Now all Dorian had to do was wait and see how far the project could actually take him.
…
A few days later…
A long table was set in front of the village, where the rescued elves had been placed to take as their new home.
On the table were varieties of food and water, each being served to the elves by Lady Erica and the other maids who had chosen to help as well.
For the past few days that the elves had stayed in the Aurelian barony, they never once tried to escape or attack anyone, despite the fact they were demi-humans surrounded by humans.
Rather than doing that, they graciously accepted the help from the barony, with Lord Dorian being the face of the entire thing, which had the elves feeling indebted to his mercy.
That morning was truly peaceful. Everything was going just as planned.
At least, until they arrived: the informants from the royal kingdom.
