Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 395: Void Storm_1

Even as a notable figure in the Federation, Feng Yi felt like a tiger fallen in the plains, bullied by dogs, in this ghostly spot where birds don't even bother to shit. Knowing that Tuolei was definitely overpricing, he sighed heavily and reluctantly said, "If you put it that way, uncle, I'm afraid the material cost would be exorbitantly high, alas... never mind."

Tuolei startled and hurriedly asked why he had changed his mind. Did he not want to upgrade his mecha anymore?

To this, Feng Yi responded with a despair-filled closure of his eyes, as if he had lost all his will to live, and expressed that it was not so. He gently explained that his requirements for a mecha weren't that demanding. After all, a true warrior always relies on his own strength. What he craved was not the mecha itself, but granting it a soul.

As a legendary craftsman, Tuolei was honorably capable of bestowing this soul, making a simple mecha the embodiment of such an honor. And Feng Yi masterfully flattered Tuolei to such an extent that the craftsman was nearly flipping over with delight, his pride somewhat visible on his face, even for someone as cunning as him.

However, Feng Yi converted these flattery-filled words into a compelling narration of sadness and despair. Expressing his regret of dreams being abruptly offset by reality, the outrageous costs that he couldn't bear and prospect of missing out on an opportunity. It was so artfully done that even Tuolei felt moved...

"Well... 35 Laka is just the cost of purchase, and in principle, my quoted price is never lower than the cost. So, you decide if..." Tuolei said until being interrupted by Feng Yi who promptly said, "Deal."

At this moment, Feng Yi was no longer the desolate soldier from before, showing the steadfast manner of a gentleman who keeps his word. Tuolei, still with incomplete sentence, suddenly felt as if he had just been played and complained, "How come you flip so quickly?"

"Sir Tuolei, you were the first to flip," Feng Yi quickly pointed out, and before another word was spoken, Feng Yi vanished into thin air.

"Hey wait, you cunning lad!" Tuolei shouted, but it was too late. Despite the price tag of 35 Laka, Feng Yi wasn't exactly wealthy, so he decided to embark on a hunting spree around Yatu Town.

Being unfamiliar with the surrounding environment, apart from being aware of the highly poisonous flora and the predator beasts, Feng Yi had little knowledge. Despite the high demand for the colorful birds which were available only for a few hours in the evening, Feng Yi preferred to stretch his hunting grounds deeper into the woods.

He switched his combat suit to adaptive environment mode for effective camouflage and armed himself with a loaded steel spear. As soon as he was outside the town, he quickly disappeared into the depths of the jungle, slipping through the thorny shrubs like a camouflaged lightning bolt.

"Squeek squeek squeek..." A cute mourning sound echoing in the background.

Woosh! Feng Yi abruptly stopped, leaving harsh scratches on the ground as he did. "It's coming from that direction!" he determined using his superb hearing.

The cry belonged to a creature known as the 'Squeek'. Its appearance was as cute and tame as its cry, making it an irresistible attraction, particularly amongst the girls. The creature's rarity also made it considerably valuable. Hence, Feng Yi decided to seize this cute fellow - first alive and then dead.

In a blink of an eye, Feng Yi leaped, his swift dart nearly made him stumble while trying to capture the Squeek, ending up with nothing but a handful of fur. Unfortunately, it lived up in the trees and was significantly agile. He sneakily glanced around, worried that if someone witnessed his struggle, his reputation would undoubtedly go down the drain.

Luckily his second jump was successful. In a single bound, he covered dozens of meters and finally nabbed the 'Squeek' from the tree. The 'Squeek' too, stumbled, clearly surprised at the 'earth flea' jumping so damn high.

However, Feng Yi decided to keep the 'Squeek' in a storage capsule as creatures couldn't survive within a Space Crystal. He then made his way another 30 kilometers before being interrupted by thick smoke billowing from the distance...

It seemed to be coming from the spaceport... could it be a forest fire? Feng Yi shook his head, "The civilization on the Bull Planet is relatively primitive, and extinguishing such a fire would be unrealistic. Normally, I wouldn't concern myself with such matters in more developed star areas, but... it's hard to stand aside when you're faced with it."

Although to be honest, apart from using windstorm tactics, Feng Yi could think of no better way to fight the fire. Extinguishing flames required specific techniques and careful positioning, even being a bit uncareful could result in more vigorous fire, hence, Feng Yi quickly moved towards the location of the forest fire...

The news of the forest fire quickly swept across Yatu. The inhabitants relying on the forest resources for survival watched in horror. Warriors hastily rushed out of the town to organize rescue activities.

However, the fire was so enormous that it seemed hopeless, even to the Sword Dragon, who watched the scared animal flee in terror. This was all due to some unidentified concentrated beam of energy. Damn!

"Sir, what shall we do next?" asked Duolin.

Sword Dragon looked conflicted. As a Knight of Dragon Soul, he was unwilling to betray his creed. "We have no other choice. We cannot let the fire spread."

"But our mission..."

"I'll take the responsibility." Ignoring the protests from Duolin and the other commanders, Sword Dragon directed the caravan to rise into the sky and spray coolant onto the ground to control the fire, while other soldiers joined the rescue operations.

Meanwhile in space, a dark shuttle slowly descended not too far from the forest fire. Bruce couldn't care less about the fire; his main priority was to annihilate the Bergheide Empire Soldiers on the ground.

Karlo commented nervously, "The fire is growing bigger. We bear some responsibility for causing it, shouldn't we extend a helping hand to Bull Planet?"

"Humph, are you asking in hopes of me escalating this fire?"

"No, not at all." Karlo awkwardly responded with a smile that betrayed no worry at all.

Suddenly, an enveloping storm descended from the sky covering around two thousand meters...
