Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 393: Situation _1

Feng Yi was teaching Xiu Yi when to his surprise, the usually brash Red Ghost shyly approached him as if she were a diligent student. "Senior...no...Teacher, I... I also want a coin."

Feng Yi looked at Red Ghost with a complicated gaze, displeasure flashing in his eyes. He couldn't stand how she was trying to exploit him just because she was a girl. "No."

Red Ghost wanted to explain that she didn't mean it that way, but Feng Yi's decisive refusal had already caused a massive change in her heart. She had developed a slight admiration for Feng Yi. It was just like asking an idol for an autograph and being outright rejected. The hurt in her heart was indescribable…

Feng Yi kept gazing skeptically at the Red Ghost. Thinking about the request that Tuolei had entrusted to him, he finally let out a sigh and handed one over to her. "Keep going, youngsters."

Red Ghost and Xiu Yi nodded at the same time. At this moment, Xiu Yi was no longer obsessed with his training. Instead, Feng Yi had become the ultimate goal that he wanted to strive for. His resolve was stronger than ever. Brother Feng was like a shining beacon leading the way. He believed that as long as he kept working hard in the direction Brother Feng pointed out, things would naturally fall into place.

"If I work hard, will I become like Brother Feng in the future?"

"No, you might go even further than me."

Strike while the iron is hot. Feng Yi knew that it was pointless to continue testing Xiu Yi's endurance at this point. So, he spent the time telling Xiu Yi a lot of captivating, interesting stories which were closely related to battle. This included Mu Tou's crash course on gunplay, how to meditate when alone, and many other methods to aid in training.

"Tch, boring." Watching from a distance, the Blade Warrior sneered to herself. She had expected the training to be fun, but all she heard from Feng Yi was rambling.

In the following days, Xiu Yi gradually developed a new interest through his usual mundane physical fitness exercises and morning jogs. According to Feng Yi's observations, besides practicing punches and kicks, Xiu Yi had also taken to visiting nearby bookstores to rent some cultural magazines. Whether it was related to military strategy or knowledge-building, Xiu Yi wouldn't miss anything that might improve his own abilities – in the evening, he would ask his sister to help him catch up on basic knowledge. His learning speed was very fast given his good foundation.

During this time, Feng Yi spent most of his time playing chess and drinking tea with Tuolei, or he would directly hit the nearby tavern and laugh and drink with a bunch of men...

Meanwhile, like a shadow, the Blade Warrior was always following Feng Yi around. No matter where Feng Yi went, she followed. She had grown increasingly clingy lately which was unlike her. Though Feng Yi was a dignified, humorous, and knowledgeable individual, it was still bothersome for him to have a panther so determined to seduce him.

For instance, she didn't even wait for him to turn off the light before jumping into his bed in her negligee, claiming she was afraid to sleep alone in her room.

Unbelievable! She had lived alone on the Death Planet for many years, hadn't she? Why did she suddenly become so delicate after coming to Bull Planet? Truth be told, the Blade Warrior had a nearly perfect, flawless figure. So, even Feng Yi found it challenging to stay composed when she was in his bed.

The most significant issue was the Blade Warrior herself. In the end, she was a biological machine. Feng Yi didn't need to worry about moral issues like cheating in a relationship. "Hey, you aren't trying to test me, are you? Or do you think I wouldn't dare to do anything to you?"

"I'm not testing you at all. I'm doing this on purpose."

Damn! This was intolerable. As a machine, the Blade Warrior's motives were beyond Feng Yi's comprehension. He tried to recollect himself and enter a meditative state but her sweet scent aroused him. Not knowing what else to do, he decided to carry her back to her room. But when he took her in his arms, he was shocked to find that he was actually holding a sleeping black panther...

Clearly, she was there just to toy with him. It wasn't until they reached her room that he realized a gaping hole in her window allowed the moonlight to seep in. No wonder she had run to his room; she had once mentioned that sounds drained her limited energy.

Impressed by her trust in him, Feng Yi decided to drop the matter. He just shook his head and put the sleeping panther on her bed.

Not feeling sleepy, he decided to go out for a walk. Little did he know that he would come across Xiu Yi. Under the cover of darkness, Xiu Yi was sneaking around at a local battle bar, tinkering with the computer system. Somehow, he managed to get free playtime, perhaps due to the outdated machines at Bull Planet.

The game that Xiu Yi was playing was Galactic Warfare, the war-themed online game from the Federation. It turned out the kid was also interested in that sort of thing. Upon observing him for a few days, Feng Yi realized that this was a habit that Xiu Yi had developed. Even on such an economically backward planet as Black Ghost, Galactic Warfare was still played extensively.

Feng Yi did miss the days when he used to compete in random team matches piloting the Phantom Knight 0001. It was a shame though, Galactic Warfare's player base had dwindled to less than one percent of what it once was.

Due to the spread of the war, over half of the Federation's southern industrial area had fallen. The headquarters of Star Wars was in the southern star field, and falling into enemy hands was inevitable. In other words, the future of Star Wars was grim. The decreasing popularity of the game due to war-induced economic downturn had the company on the verge of collapse.

Those who remained were die-hard fans of Star Wars or players who had invested too much in the game to leave it. After this experience, many gaming companies might find it hard to bounce back. Feng Yi still had hopes for Galactic Warfare as it had made him a lot of money in his time of need. If possible, he would like to initiate a match with his notable Revenge Shadow Rider account. Achieving that could potentially draw a lot of attention and possibly save the game from its imminent downfall.

However, with the odds stacked against him and with the outdated equipment on Bull Planet, logging in his ID would be a dead giveaway.

No one knew what the two major powers, Bergheide of the Super Empire and Rekart of the Silver Alliance, were planning. Before either side made their move, no one dared to make predictions about the direction of the war.

At this time, the Federation, which had launched a full-scale war, was in a state of tension. On the remote planet streets, one could see numerous recruitment posters and uncollected garbage. The Super Mecha plan had also entered its final phase, and it was only a matter of time before they were dispatched to the front lines.
