Chapter 364 Gold-Eating Beast_1

While the Sword Dragon struck amidst their clashing assaults, a dull thud sounded and Duolin was knocked down, their bodies plunged heavily onto the ground, scattering dust all around.

Boom! Feng Yi's attack missed.

Looking back... the very ground they previously stood on was seen strewn with bits of stone carried away by the gale of shockwave intensity, unfurled by the man in black. As space trembled in response, it beggared belief how earth-shattering the destructive force of that attack was. Even a First-Order warrior in final form couldn't produce such terror.

This... this was unbelievable, Duolin's gaze filled with disbelief.

However, an upgrade in realm didn't mean a surge in endurance. Unleashing such a devastating attack not only greatly burdened Feng Yi's body but also dramatically drained his energy. By now, Feng Yi felt as if half his newly-restored strength was drained away in an instant.

As Sword Dragon and Duolin exchanged looks, the problem before them was hard to tackle; either of them could fatally exhaust the other, yet neither could withstand a single blow from him.

Having sensed the change in his body, Feng Yi knew he would need to think twice before launching a second attack, which must succeed, for failure meant death. A man who has learned to survive in countless battles was all too aware of this truth. Releasing a second surge of energy was his greatest deterrent. Precisely because of this, the opponent would not act rashly.

At this moment, the three of them took opposing stands, their attentions focused in the extreme, their senses hypersensitive.

The distinct sound in the distance began to reach their ears, and their bodies could feel the ground trembling as if something was running towards them.

Yes, they could not have misread this unique sound of running; it was the infamous Gold-Eating Beast. "Sword Dragon, should we retreat now?"

"This could be troublesome if it's that creature," Sword Dragon's gaze was filled with conflict. Even against such a formidable adversary, he believed the situation to be in their favor, but the Gold-Eating Beast was an entirely different story. This monster, a by-product of the extreme conditions on Death Planet, feeds on metal. Its digestive structure differs greatly from that of normal organisms, capable of breaking down organic metals. The potent acid it secretes is terrifying, and it moves in packs, known for its excessively aggressive nature.

As the sound grew nearer, the three halted the onslaught together, simultaneously diverting part of their attention elsewhere.

"The Gold-Eating Beast, huh." Musing upon this, Feng Yi narrowed his eyes. Surviving on Death Planet means becoming intimately familiar with its creatures, so he's not a stranger to the Gold-Eating Beast, an aberrant creature known for its swift collective movements and immense biting strength. Its relentless nature is comparable to that of a honey badger, making it Death Planet's notorious number one killer.

When encountered, the best course of action is to ascend in a flight vehicle by whatever means necessary. Otherwise, you'd be devoured by the Gold-Eating Beast down to the scraps. Even metal is no match for the potent acid it secretes, which not only resists extreme cold but also withstands intense sunlight. This is the product of extreme evolution under extreme conditions.

"We can't afford to wait any longer. Let's prepare to strike and then make our swift exit."

"Are you sure…"? With Sword Dragon's virtually wrecked limbs, Duolin had her doubts.

"Hehe, I am, after all, the Commander of the Dragon Soul Legion—rest assured. I will do my best to hold him off to avoid a direct confrontation. If the worst happens, you must survive." Sword Dragon suddenly smiled and said, "Oh yes, one more thing. At that time, please take care of her on my behalf."

"How could this be?" Duolin seemed to have foreseen something, "We still have a better…"

"Enough! Have you forgotten our mission?" Sword Dragon's expression changed abruptly but returned to calm instantly, "Focus on the enemy in front of us now."

"Alright," Duolin said, saying no more. She knew well the determination of Sword Dragon to succeed in the mission. The code of knightly honor and creeds no longer hold any relevance. Everything he did was for a distant hope—for peace. To end this war, military force was the best leverage.

Their quiet exchange didn't escape Feng Yi's ears. Each of them merely took different positions, and Feng Yi wasn't going to back down on account of this.

The vibration caused by the Gold-Eating Beast on the ground was growing closer. They could wait no longer. Duolin slightly regretted their lack of preparation on their arrival. She and Sword Dragon came to Death Planet for backup in case of accidents. Yet, even the upper echelon had not anticipated encountering such a formidable warrior on Death Planet. As Duolin launched her attack first, her beautiful eyes slightly furrowed. She drew out her dagger and threw it at Feng Yi.

Simultaneously, Sword Dragon pulled out a heavy artillery weapon and pointed it at Feng Yi.

Hmph, it seems they have become more cautious, attempting to gradually wear him down. This level of suppression was meaningless to him.

With a thought, a cloak suddenly streamed out from the back of his Combat Suit. This cloak-like defensive gear was specifically designed to fend off bullets. But with a different opponent, he didn't want to try taking the hits directly. As Feng Yi approached Sword Dragon, he repeatedly performed high-speed rotations. With his cloak sweeping around, their attacks were all deflected. This maneuver saved him a lot of energy in movement. The cloak fluttered in the breeze...

As Feng Yi spun countless rounds, he suddenly threw a punch at Sword Dragon midair.

Darn it! It seemed the enemy had found his weakness, exploiting his compromised mobility to strike. Sword Dragon and Duolin didn't anticipate that Feng Yi would have such equipment. A surge of combat energy was brought up from the surface of his body to block it. But the booming surge of Feng Yi's attack was unstoppable. Sword Dragon felt as if he was hit with high-pressure impact; he was flung away with a heavy force.

Before he could somersault and land on the ground, the man in black's second and more icy blast of combat energy came thundering down. Ding... clatter... The strong wind fiercely collided with Duolin's Crystal Mirror just in time. Duolin blocked an attack for Sword Dragon. He didn't even have time to give her a grateful look; Feng Yi was already in mid-air, launching yet another Falcon Kick.

Seeing the imminent Falcon Kick, Sword Dragon cursed under his breath, his body unbalanced.

"Don't get ahead of yourself." Duolin let out a sweet yell, her body instantly shooting up into the air to meet Feng Yi's attack. With nothing held back in this life-and-death battle, she demonstrated her robust advantage in air fighting. Her kicking always targeted Feng Yi's vitals, keeping him at bay. Of course, his declining energy was also a reason.

Crack... boom... bam, the sounds of boot lashes filled the void. As they landed, they both changed their moves to the Thomas Spin Kick, with whirlwinds suddenly rolling around them both.

The Thomas Spin Kick was Feng Yi's strong suit, but it was rendered completely ineffective in this round of attack and defense. Despite applying greater force, it didn't produce a conspicuous effect. Whirring... with a dull thud, they both slid back across the ground due to the rebound.

Feng Yi's rolling body first touched the ground with three fingers, a forward roll followed by an instant two-stage charge. His fast-moving form left many ghost images, aiming at Duolin. However, as he neared Duolin, he suddenly changed his direction.
