Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 301: Feng Yi's Stall is Smashed _1

Sheng Qiangwei looked puzzled. Who had upset the little princess enough to have her send such an inexplicable message? Emily, exceptionally wise, quiet and graceful, always seemed like a gentle flower being able to withstand all hardships. This was the first time she had seen Emily behave in such an abrupt manner. Sheng Qiangwei figured she must have been dealing with something important and decided not to bother her after leaving a short message.

One moment they were a PK team; and the next, they had disbanded. After the fallout, Feng Yi chose to opt-out prematurely, not wanting to stick around any longer due to the risk of his remaining signatures getting stolen, particularly as they were intended to be sold.

With a bag over his shoulder, Feng Yi wandered aimlessly, settling on selling the signatures within a kilometer radius of the peak competitive arena. But after spending some time looking, he couldn't find a suitable spot. It was so crowded that there was hardly any breathing space. Eventually, Feng Yi, not finding a better option, had to withdraw to a less desirable location a few kilometers away.

By this time, Feng Yi had already camouflaged his identity by switching off his nickname and changing into an outfit of black clothes, complete with a facemask. After all, being ranked 4444 on the Federal Army's list of esteemed fighters, he was an easy target for those looking to sabotage.

He had no other option but to keep a low profile.

After a while, Feng Yi found an unremarkable corner where he could spread a rag and arrange the Athena's Signatures for sale. He stroked his chin, pleased with the way he had set up his goods. And then... then he started selling.

However, minutes turned into tens of minutes and then twenty minutes... with no buyers in sight. The passersby hardly spared him a glance, essentially ignoring him. This made him feel somewhat powerless - wasn't it supposed to be easy selling celebrity signatures?

The more he waited for customers, the more agitated Feng Yi became. Looking around, he noticed a soothsayer to his left who seemed to be struggling, too, but at least they were doing better than Feng Yi himself, who hadn't been able to make a single sale. To his right, he observed a man aggressively handing out leaflets to disinterested passersby and almost started a fight doing so, which caused bystanders to scoff.

Truth be told, Feng Yi's tactic of setting up shop in one place was seen as desperate, no different from hawking a cure-all remedy or whatnot. Not only did it not attract attention, but it was also looked down upon. Outside the peak competitive arena, there were too many vendors like him.

Just then, a group of hoodlums walked up without saying a word and started kicking over the makeshift stalls belonging to Feng Yi and the other vendors around him. Their intention was clear - they were there to disperse the vendors. Feng Yi was not one to stand idle when being bullied.

"Stop," he said. After all, these signatures were personally written by Athena, and he wouldn't bear to let anyone destroy them.

However, the man paused only slightly before continuing to rampage. Feng Yi shouted again, "Back off!" This time, his voice was louder. As he shouted, he quickly reached out to save the signatures which surprised those standing nearby.

"You little punk, do you know where you are? This is the Tyrant Guild's territory. Have you paid the protection fee?" The thug questioned.

"What protection fee?" Feng Yi responded.

"Of course it's the stall protection fee. Don't tell me you thought this place was a charity?" The thug retorted.

"This is not a charity, and it doesn't belong to you," Feng Yi snapped back.

"In a radius of hundreds of miles, everyone knows the Tyrant Guild is the boss. It looks like you want to be killed back down to level 0," the thug threatened.

"I'm already at level 0," Feng Yi shot back.

Observing this exchange, onlookers were left speechless...

Due to the crowded area around the peak competition venue, Feng Yi decided to set up shop in a remote area. Everyone here was outside the Safe Zone. It was clear that the player dressed like a thug from the Tyrant Guild intended to forcibly drive away the street vendors unless they paid the protection fee.

It was well known that the Tyrant Guild monopolized this area. No other guild could compete with them. Regular stall owners generally wouldn't dare to conduct business here. Today was an exception due to special circumstances at the peak competitive arena. Most regular netizens chose to tolerate this situation. They would rather be PKed and reduce their level than offend the Tyrant Guild and risk being mercilessly hunted down beyond the Safe Zone.

However, the netizens realized this cheeky little fellow was already at level 0 upon conducting a search. Although he had blocked his ID information, he had not blocked his military tech level option. Without a title, honor or a combat record, it was clear that he was a newbie like Xiao Bai.

Despite this, everyone greatly approved of Feng Yi's actions. This was a confrontation between a regular citizen and a bully, a showdown between humble justice and evil forces. While cheering for Feng Yi in their hearts, most people simply watched the drama unfold. They hoped he would quickly apologize to the Tyrant Guild so he could continue doing business in their territory.

After all, he was just a newbie. If he offended the Tyrant Guild and they decided to camp near the random safe zone teleport spots, he wouldn't even be able to reach nearby city gates, let alone escape to other cities.

Of course, there were exceptions. For example, one could seek help from professionals who perform disguise techniques for a living. They made their living by performing services like this, but their high fees were usually too steep for newbies. Unless the newbie could pay in real-world money, there was little hope. But even if you could afford the service of a master of disguise, they couldn't guarantee your safety if a large guild wanted to catch you.

Unless you had the influence of a top-tier player to make large guilds think twice, or belonged to a guild of equal level - but reality was cruel. There were rarely any top-tier players around, and even if there were, it was unlikely any guild member would risk involving their guild for no reason.

As Feng Yi would say, when you've been squatting in a pit for two hours without making a single penny, the last thing you want to do is lose money.

And so, the heated argument quickly escalated into a fight.

The Tyrant Guild member struck first, aiming a kick at Feng Yi's stomach, but Feng Yi easily dodged it and returned a kick. The Tyrant Guild member stumbled a few steps forward and unluckily fell onto a triangular spike owned by one of the nearby vendors, which resulted in an instant death teleportation back to the Safe Zone.

Furious, since the Tyrant Guild traditionally controlled this area, the rest of the gang decided to attack Feng Yi as a group and rushed towards him, descending into a frenzy of fists and kicks. They instantaneously activated their PK mode.

Galactic Warfare had a real nerve pain sensation in place. Within a moment, Feng Yi had effortlessly brought down all eight members of the Tyrant Guild who were now sprawled on the ground, groaning in pain… Taking advantage of their incapacitated state, Feng Yi began to search their bodies. Unfortunately, the items dropped were random. Besides some money, Feng Yi also found a Mecha camouflage augmentation system, which randomly dropped. This item increased the disguise rate by 1%.

Not bad at all. Feng Yi nodded in satisfaction and decided to install this item on the Phantom Knight 0001 when he returned.
