Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 1378: Playing Dead

Who would have thought that the monster would have an unknown side.

Feng Yi sighed genuinely; if it weren't so extreme, it would be a rare opponent.

It's just... throughout this long journey, aside from the bizarre incident, everyone was more or less contemplating other issues, and their expressions weren't great.

As the joy gradually faded, the spacecraft plunged into silence again. The speechless travelers continued their journey, constantly glancing into the starry void, seemingly troubled by something.

However, someone has to speak, and problems need resolving.

Suddenly, Sky Shadow seemed to recall something important and said, "Oh right, did you all leave together for this trip to the twin stars?"

"Why?"

"It's nothing much, but Zhang Xiaobo's death needs to be communicated to Sara. Since you traveled together, someone should speak to her about it properly."

Sky Shadow's somber voice left Blade Warrior at a loss for words. Glancing around, she noticed that Xiu Yi and his group had suddenly disappeared, along with Jiu Ling, even though they seemed curious when Sky Shadow was speaking.

"Now that Feng Luo is unconscious, as a coordinator yourself, you should inform her."

"Hey, why me?"

Blade Warrior was taken aback, as if struck by a critical blow, feeling deeply troubled. Why was she being asked to convey such news?

She forced an awkward smile and said, "Sky Shadow, matters of social etiquette shouldn't concern you the most. Why don't... you take care of it instead?"

"I honestly don't care, but I wasn't present at the time."

Damn, this guy usually has a cold expression, yet he clears himself so smoothly, acting all cold and detached while trying to reason with you is just annoying.

"Then, Kexiao, why don't you do it? With your linguistic skills, you'd be the best choice."

Kexiao started to sweat and reluctantly said, "I'm really sorry, but I'm capable of delivering good news, not bad news."

So, what about Feng Yi...

When Blade Warrior turned her attention to Feng Yi, the grievously injured and nearly unconscious man was already peacefully asleep. Yes, Feng Yi was now sleeping soundly, but Blade Warrior thought, "Even if you poured water on him, he wouldn't wake up; you can't wake someone pretending to sleep."

It's not possible to ask Bai Zhexian because Sara doesn't even know him.

None of these people are reliable, and Blade Warrior suddenly felt very sad, wronged, and wanted to cry.

Her thoughts shifted to the pitiful fatty; if he were still alive, a little money would easily buy his help. But everyone here is a big shot, and they can't be ordered around. In a couple of days, they'd be back at Sky City, and this issue would definitely fall on her shoulders.

Meanwhile, during the return, external disturbances weren't calm either. With the Ancient Queen Elysis publicly announcing that the Bizarre had been wiped out, the news caused a stir amongst humans.

This news from the Titan Elf Clan had become the hottest topic in the world.

At this moment, major leaders of human nations couldn't help but feel uneasy. According to the agreement between the two sides, the twin stars were to be used as a strategic springboard to help the Fairy Clan combat the Bizarre, with permanent usage rights. If the plan succeeded, it essentially meant handing over Lasathas.

However, humanity didn't expect the plan to work; they simply hoped to delay things, as Titans and Elves were mere front-line cannon fodder, dispensable and seen as a shield.

But as the plan succeeded, the leaders grew restless, wondering if humanity really had to surrender the twin stars. That wasn't just a city or a solitary island but a habitable earth-like planet.

Even the peace-advocating Federations began to shift opinions upon receiving the news.

In fact, a day earlier, humans had already sensed something unusual. If the Bizarre could strike, it would've done so already. But with no recent activity, waiting and observing was the norm among the nations until the Titans released the news.

Once the announcement was made, humans were united in their stance, having prepared their statements long in advance. The Bizarre's disappearance was true, but the credit didn't solely belong to the Titan Elves; humanity had a part too. As such, all nations suffered losses, with the Federation suffering the most; how could the Titans exclusively claim the credit?

Amid extensive media coverage, the news of the Bizarre's elimination quickly spread through the human information network. Observant individuals pointed out that cooperation would be fine, but if not, ordinary citizens would suffer, potentially escalating into political turmoil or even war.

After all, humanity was at fault, appearing to selfishly sever ties. However, the powerful leaders of nations had their interests challenged.

The most pitiful were the ordinary people, who gained nothing from the situation but faced the consequences of war. Sanctions impacted workers more than the elite, leading to unemployment and families struggling to eat.

One must know that cooperation between the two clans involved many industries, and now, in the Drifting Epoch, it was no longer the prosperous era of abundance for everyone.

If mishandled, it might become another Maraca Freedom Port, where both sides insist on their right, having no condition for war. Lasathas would become the next in line for human occupation.

Two days quickly passed, and listening to the Star Domain Broadcast and various reports, Blade Warrior could no longer criticize humanity's shame, more accurately, the lack of integrity among top-level politicians. No wonder Titan Elves despised humans, labeling them as untrustworthy, with overall qualities lowered by countless thoughtless individuals, easily swayed by rumors without critical thinking.

She shook her head, turned off the Star Domain Broadcast as there were pressing matters to solve, and wondered how to explain to Sara and the others.

The closer they got to Sky City, the more anxiety filled Blade Warrior's heart. She repeatedly rehearsed her conversation with Sara.

Should it be heavy and straightforward, light and cheerful, or perhaps a joke, saying the fatty went on a trip, like Feng Yi? Ahhhh... driving her mad; the more she thought about it, the more overwhelming it became. This trip to the twin stars shouldn't have happened; the issue felt more distressing than the Bizarre incident.

At that moment, the electronic door silently opened.

Hearing the sound, Blade Warrior turned to look, and the person's appearance was unforgettable for life...

"You! You..."

Blade Warrior's breath grew heavier.

Why did she look like she wanted to eat him? The fatty was puzzled, feeling a bit guilty, scared, and timidly 말했다, "Sister Blade, what's up?" and then turned to a face full of flattering smiles.

"Fatty, am I seeing things, or have you resurrected?"

"Hehe, you're not seeing things, and I'm not resurrected. I just had a broken neck, took a nap, and now I'm back."

Blade Warrior got startled and dashed out the door with a scream: "OMG, a ghost!"
