Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 1377: The Final Choice

"It's not just her being blunt, you're the same, right? Could it be jealousy? Or, do you want a boy to confess to you too?"

"Haha, I think that's a tall order. Maybe you'll scare him to death before he can say anything."

"That's too much, you guys have gone far enough!"

Jiu Ling was very displeased with the teasing from Blade Warrior and Xiu Yi. Kexiao was actually gentle, although the transformation thing was difficult to accept... but she considered herself to know him quite well, at least better than the majority. Kexiao had too much on his shoulders, arduous and heavy.

Even if the bizarre turmoil had ended, allowing everyone a moment's peace, there was no need to tease someone just to find a topic to talk about; it was like rubbing salt in the wound, simply too much.

However, she couldn't understand why the prideful Kexiao was indifferent to their teasing, instead giving a gentle smile.

This...

Kexiao's smile was too genuine, and the more Jiu Ling thought about it, the more uneasy she felt. Could it be that he was shocked stupid?

Though the word "fool" didn't quite fit him, at that moment, Kexiao seemed just like a fool to her.

"Hey, Kexiao, wake up, do you recognize me?"

"You ignorant woman, are you still in the dark?"

Sky Shadow couldn't stand it any longer and blurted out, explaining to Jiu Ling that Kexiao didn't care because he would soon revert to his original form.

"Hmm, why is that?"

"You're asking the wrong person; Feng Yi's secret is beyond even us."

Jiu Ling wanted to question Feng Yi further, but held back, seeing how he was covered with scars and barely able to speak. It just wouldn't be right to ask him about secrets now; she decided she would find another opportunity later.

Sky Shadow didn't care much about these things and asked Feng Yi, "That monster was so strong, I can't fathom how you defeated it. Given your level back then, you were strong, but at best, you could only gain an upper hand. The limits of human strength meant you couldn't see it through to the end, yet the result far exceeded my expectations."

"I have the same question," it was Kexiao who spoke, "Strength determines the upper limit of power, and stamina affects the battle outcome. When strengths are closely matched, usually the stronger will prevail. Put simply, without surpassing strength, you almost couldn't have beaten it."

"You two are unbelievable! Even I can do better than that, clever but bananas!" Blade Warrior shot them a disdainful glance, "Feng Yi is so strong, what's so strange about defeating the Bizarre. Besides, he's the amazing Shadow Rider and has that ability to turn the tables!"

Sky Shadow sneered with disdain, laughing wickedly, "You're the ignorant one. Don't measure Feng Yi by your standards; if he wanted to resolve it with that power, it wouldn't have dragged on till now."

"This... but times change, Feng Yi is well aware of what's more important."

"You're wrong; he isn't as righteous as you think. On the contrary, any of us are more responsible than he is. Rather than saying he's protecting the world, it's more true that he just wants a grand fight against it. Even if it meant his death, he wouldn't use that power."

"Is that so, Feng Yi...?" Kexiao's beautiful eyes wandered, as if probing the devil inside Feng Yi's heart, staring deeply into his pupils with a meaningful gaze.

After a brief silence at the scene, it was followed by an even longer silence...

Feng Yi was stunned for over ten seconds, and with everyone's gaze growing increasingly odd, he finally surrendered and awkwardly laughed, "Honestly, I didn't expect the Bizarre to be that strong. In fact, I was ready to die. Of course, it couldn't leave that planet either."

"No dodging! What do you mean?" Kexiao leaned closer to Feng Yi, face-to-face, furrowing her brows seriously.

Feng Yi hurriedly backed away a short distance; anymore and they'd be face-to-face. After all, Kexiao was a girl now.

Kexiao realized her blunder, a bit embarrassed, suavely shifting back to her original position.

Feng Yi stated seriously, "To some extent, I didn't defeat it."

Everyone was stunned, the machines paused, and the entire world seemed to stop. Sky Shadow almost roared at Feng Yi, "What did you say? It's still alive?"

"Calm down, I haven't finished. In fact, I truly couldn't defeat it, but it couldn't defeat me either. The final result would be that we both perished on the White Dwarf."

"White... White Dwarf!?"

Blade Warrior's small mouth formed an 'O' shape, "You know the average gravity on a White Dwarf is 180,000 times earth's, right? Do you understand what that means?"

"Of course, I do." Feng Yi explained gravely to everyone, "I transported it to the White Dwarf after careful consideration."

In Feng Yi's explanation, he briefly outlined that he hadn't anticipated the gravity on a White Dwarf to be so terrifying. Even with his current power, standing on the stellar surface would lead him to be crushed by gravity, probably dying in less than two minutes unless he transformed into an ultralight state—the long-haired burst form everyone saw earlier.

But in truth, he had no choice. Since the White Dwarf is a Death Planet, Diamonds wouldn't be transformed into other matter to be absorbed by the Bizarre. While he fought against the gravity, the Bizarre was constantly fighting against the celestial weight, and couldn't replenish passively.

By the end of the fight, he lacked the energy to use the Third Rhythm to escape from that part of the universe, located in a distant external galaxy, and was the only part with relatively "low" gravity White Dwarf he could find. However, even then, the moment he stepped on the celestial body, he nearly disintegrated, turning into a heap of mush.

During the mutual exhaustion, when he finally collapsed, the Bizarre was also unable to stand, and couldn't maintain human form, nor escape the gravitational binding. It could only await demise.

This made everyone more confused. Bai Zhexian, who had seen the Third Rhythm and fought alongside Feng Yi, asked curiously, "Then how did you leave the White Dwarf?"

"The Bizarre, it gave its last strength to me."

Everyone first thought they misheard, like a bolt from the blue. But it's impossible for everyone to mishear. For the opponent, evil to the core, to give its remaining power to Feng Yi defied logic and reason.

"Why would it give you its power?"

"Perhaps it's a manifestation of 'humanity'."

To Kexiao's question, Feng Yi half-sighed an answer. It's said that a man's words are kind upon death; maybe the Bizarre, filled with negativity as everyone saw it, yet under the grand dyeing vat of time, not only turned from a blank paper into something evil, but also contained unknown elements.

"I think, perhaps in its final moments, it only wished to prove it existed, expressing the multifaceted and unique sides of its emotions."
