Capítulo 560: Turning Point [ 2 ]
A gaping hole appeared in Altros’s shoulder, causing him to drop the revolver and scream out in pain.
“AAAAAAAH!”
“Tsk…” Aston clicked his tongue, approaching completely unscathed. “You really are a piece of work. Had I not turned back the chamber, you would’ve shot me in the head.”
His words fell on deaf ears as Altros continued screaming his lungs out. Being shot was nothing like it was in the movies, and it hurt more than the internet let on.
Furthermore, just how unlucky was he? If he hadn’t hesitated, he would’ve been able to press the trigger again.
In the end, he was now sprawled out on the floor, with Aston standing over him, aiming his gun directly at Altros’s forehead.
“Some things weren’t meant to be,” Aston said, a faint smile appearing on his face. “But if you’re so curious as to why I didn’t approve of your request, then I’ll indulge you.”
He pressed the barrel of the weapon into Altros’s forehead. By now, he had somewhat regained his composure, at least enough to hear what Aston had to say.
“You see, your parents were kind people. They were also people who went out of their way to volunteer at the hospital and even give some kind donations from time to time.”
His smirk widened.
“Of course, I pocketed all those donations.”
After a brief pause, he continued.
“Though, I wonder when it started? They stopped showing up as much, and eventually they stopped coming at all. I later found out that their daughter had begun to be considered some kind of genius among geniuses. Hell, I thought more donations would come if I offered to be her personal doctor. But alas, the only thing I got in return was a blocked number.”
His rage seemed to grow with every word spoken until eventually, he calmed down, his usual sociopathic smile appearing on his face.
“Of course, I’m not one to take such disrespect. I have money, and I have contacts. You know, I also have the contacts of an airline. ‘Wherever, whenever,’ or some bullshit motto they have. Still, I’m an investor, and they are my dogs.”
“And trained dogs do as they are told,” he added, his smile growing. “So I told them to sabotage one engine and mess with the fuel just enough so that those Altros bastards wouldn’t be able to make it to their destination.”
“…”
“…”
Those words left both Altros and Rael speechless. Shock, awe, hatred, and more. Neither of them was even sure how to go about this information. New ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄhapters are published on NovєlFіre.net
Rael remembered the report.
A disaster among disasters. An engine failure, crash-landed in the ocean just west of South Korea. It was tragic, and every single person died on board except one.
Melissa Altros. His sister.
Even then, it was labeled as an accident report and written off as a technical malfunction… something that completely erased the traces of whoever orchestrated the crash in the first place.
I… Up until now… I thought it was an accident, but… Rael stared through the eyes of Altros. This utter trash was involved? He was the one who ruined everything?
He felt empty.
All the misfortune he had suffered started because of the man in front of him.
Everything.
“But you know what’s more surprising?” Aston chuckled. “One brat survived, the other had the balls to get in my face and demand luxurious treatment because his parents had once sponsored the hospital. To that, I said fuck you.”
He glanced down.
“And once again, Rael Altros. Fuck you. You and your arrogant family does not deserve a dime out of my pockets.”
With those words, he smacked Altros’s head with the tip of the gun, causing him to recoil and then Aston followed up with a smack.
It was a relentless assault, and yet, Altros didn’t resist. His eyes were blank as he realized the same thing Rael had already begun to process.
But how could someone process something like this? Especially when it was sprung on them out of nowhere.
Altros was starting to lose consciousness. His bones were broken and his body battered. Even then, Aston didn’t stop smacking his gun down, fully prepared to kill Altros.
But against all odds, the next attack shattered the end of the assault rifle, making Aston’s eyes widen.
“Huh? I could’ve sworn this gun was a bit sturdier. Hah, not like it changes anything.”
He aimed what remained of his assault rifle at Altros, but right as he was about to fire, he felt a scorching feeling in both his elbows.
Before he could process what was happening, he unwillingly let go of the gun. It fell to the floor, and when it landed with a thud, Aston’s arms, from the elbows down, fell alongside it.
“AAAH!” Aston recoiled in shock, but it was too late as Altros’s body suddenly healed up in less than a second.
His expression was still lifeless, but even so, Rael controlled him smoothly.
As he stared at the struggling rat bastard who continued yelling in pain, Rael could not find the right words to say.
It all felt so surreal to him.
How could someone so weak have such an ego?
How could someone like him not have even the faintest bit of empathy?
And more importantly, how could someone like him stare Rael in the face and recite all his violent crimes with a smile?
Sickening.
Just sickening.
“You know, I’ve never run this situation through my mind before,” Rael said calmly. “One day they were alive, the next, I was sitting by my sister’s hospital bed. Not for a single second did I think someone could do something so cruel.”
Rael exhaled, causing the space to subtly crack around him.
“But I suppose I expected too much from you.” He lowered his voice. “…From any of you.”
The moment he said the last of his words, Rael calmly walked up to Aston. The blood loss had started to get out of control. Any longer and Aston would bleed to death.
And he couldn’t have that.
Rael flicked his fingers. A faint spark of light escaped and hit Aston, stopping the bleeding in an instant while also returning his mental clarity.
“You…” Aston glared fiercely. “What did you do?”
