Chapter 482: Fish Bubbles
“Does this count as a win?” Rael asked plainly.
Kareth nodded. “Zarkul lost the moment he used more of his power.”
“So why didn’t you all intervene?” Rael tilted his head with a slight frown. “I don’t mean to say I’m weak, but I definitely would’ve died there.”
“I told them not to intervene,” Vatyra said with a scoff. “He knew we were coming, so he started holding back. If he wanted to really kill you, he would’ve done so the moment you saw the Far Lands.”
Kareth suddenly turned toward her with a deep frown.
“Vatyra…”
“Hey, come on now. He would’ve found out eventually,” Vatyra reasoned. “It’s not like that location is a secret.”
“It is,” Evelyn chimed in with a sigh. “We can’t erase his memories either because of the blessing I gave him… Well, what do you say, Kareth? He technically is a part of your trial, so you’re responsible for him.”
“Me?” Kareth pointed at himself. “How was I supposed to know his speed was going to increase by like a million times in the blink of an eye? Hey… You know what? Rael, you’ll have to excuse my incompetence here, but just how much did you see?”
Rael shrugged. “Nothing. The crimson moon just disappeared, that’s about it.”
“He’s lying,” Evelyn said, causing Rael’s brows to scrunch up slightly.
I thought she was on my side. Come on…
“Doesn’t matter. Whatever you saw, keep it to yourself. No one must know,” Kareth instructed, deciding to get back on track.
“You have beaten Vatyra, Chronos, and now Zarkul. That leaves you with Evelyn, Minos, and me. Who will you choose to go up against next?”
“Really trying to weasel out of this, aren’t you?” Evelyn remarked, but Kareth simply ignored her as he continued staring at Rael and awaiting his answer.
Rael didn’t think too much of it either. He was content with his current level of strength, but he was a little sad about one thing.
Tsk… I really need to raise my fate mastery so I can unlock my stats. Or maybe Burger has some cheat codes? Maybe… Rael trailed off, scanning the people gathered in front of him.
Melina wasn’t here, and out of the available options, Rael wanted to have a battle with one person in particular.
Rather, it was someone he had wanted to hear from since he first saw him.
“I’ll fight Minos,” Rael announced.
However, less than a moment later, Minos spoke up, shocking everyone present.
“I forfeit.”
“What…? My ass you’re forfeiting. I wanna have a chat,” Rael complained.
And Kareth only further solidified his role here. “You can’t refuse. You did promise to help me, so now hold up your end of the deal and fight the kid. Remember, it doesn’t need to be a fight of strength. Just throw a rock and fight over which side it lands on or something.”
Minos grumbled. “Can I just—”
“How is Jane doing?” Rael asked, and the moment he did, everyone present fell silent as a deadly pressure began to emanate from Minos.
Even Kareth shot Rael a puzzled glance. “How do you know about her? Did Minos tell you something?”
Before anyone else could speak up, their bodies suddenly began moving on their own as they robotically stepped back.
“Leave.” Minos waved his hand, sending the Supreme Monsters flying toward the boiling ocean, but of course, with only a bit of resistance, they stopped themselves, though they still maintained their distance.
“The duel starts now!” Kareth announced with a shout and backed away further.
In the meantime, Minos stared at Rael with a blank look, making it difficult for Rael to understand his intentions.
Sure, he might’ve poked the beast in the ass by mentioning his sister, but at the same time, how else could he have a heart-to-heart talk with this guy?
But before Rael could ponder it further, his body suddenly moved on its own.
He tried his best to resist, but once again, before these powerful beings, he was completely powerless, so he could do nothing but watch as his own body approached Minos and stopped before him.
However, Rael realized that the weaker he came off as, the more these people would think they could toy with him, so because of that, he decided to try something out.
Thousand-Puppet Theater: Force every sentient being within 5,000 meters into a performance dictated by your will. You control their movements, speech, and every single skill/perk/ability they have. (Reduced effect against stronger opponents.)
Cost: 250 Billion MTP → 250,000 DF
Since, as a single skill, it would clearly not do much, Rael improvised with a few other skills.
Blood Blade, Royal Fishmancy, and lastly, Neural Collapse.
He mixed the four skills inside his heart and then made sure he also added Time Mana to the mix.
In the end, the combination of five affinities swirled inside his heart, producing a very potent spell that he could swing multiple ways.
His brain would produce a puppetry domain… with fish.
His horn would directly affect Minos and attack him with fish…
Why did I add fishmancy? Rael wondered, facepalming inwardly. Well, it’s whatever… I’ll just send this to my eyes instead.
Typically, Blood Blade would explode his eyes, but after Gaia gave him a blessing that made all his Mana Types not clash, he could freely wield them however he pleased.
So with that in mind, Rael gathered all that mana and sent it directly into his eye. Then, without an ounce of hesitation, he released it in one big pulse, causing the surroundings to halt as the ground shook violently. Thᴇ link to the origɪn of this information rᴇsts ɪn novel·fiɾe·net
In the next instant, a black bubble appeared in place of Minos’s left eye. At first, it seemed like Minos didn’t notice, but that was when blood began to spurt out of that black bubble like a tsunami.
Riding the tsunami were hundreds of fish that eventually landed at his feet.
An uncomfortable silence descended as the flapping of fish resounded.
But before long, Rael let out a sigh.
“Truce?”
