Under the cover of darkness, Lin Yi’s body moved with lightning speed toward the group of over twenty men, giving them little time to react.

Seeing Lin Yi charge, Wei Jianlong shouted,

“Take him down! If he survives, we won’t have a chance to escape!”

As he ordered his men to attack, Wei Jianlong began retreating under Zhao Donghai’s cover.

There were cars in the village that belonged to them. If they could make it there, they would be out of danger.

Bang bang bang!

A series of gunshots rang out as Ning Che’s timely cover fire blocked Wei Jianlong’s escape route.

Wei Jianlong was a smart man. Despite the chaos, he quickly assessed the situation.

It seemed the police had split their forces.

The main police force was likely at sea, while only two officers were left to monitor the shore.

They probably hadn’t expected him to come to this location for support.

This realization made things much easier.

All they had to do was eliminate these two, and it wouldn’t take much effort, he thought.

After all, the more skilled officers wouldn’t have been left behind to keep watch.

“Boss, the situation is urgent. Let me escort you out. We’ll retreat into the village,” Zhao Donghai shouted.

“Don’t rush,” Wei Jianlong replied, panting.

“There are only two trash cops in front of us. Let’s take care of them first before we leave. If we let them drag this out, it will waste time. If reinforcements arrive, we won’t be able to escape.”

Zhao Donghai nodded in agreement and then directed the armed men,

“Let’s take out the woman first. We’ll deal with them quickly!”

“Got it!”

Automatically, Wei Jianlong’s men divided into two groups.

The ones with guns targeted Ning Che.

Meanwhile, the remaining twenty or so, armed with various weapons, charged at Lin Yi.

Their division of labor was clear, but this was exactly what Lin Yi and Ning Che wanted.

With Wei Jianlong’s change in strategy, Lin Yi’s pressure lightened considerably.

Although Ning Che now bore the brunt of the attack, if she could be threatened by these men, she wouldn’t be fit to lead the Central Guards Brigade.

In just a few seconds, Lin Yi was among the group of attackers.

Wei Jianlong’s twenty-some men, eyes red with fury, brandished their weapons and charged at Lin Yi, seemingly without regard for their lives.

Lin Yi reached behind his back, pulled out his Defensive Master Dagger, and met them head-on.

The first machete swung toward him, and Lin Yi blocked it with his knife.

In the darkness, the clash of metal rang out.

Moving with lightning speed, Lin Yi kicked the first attacker squarely in the chest, sending him crumpling to the ground, unconscious before he could even struggle.

With one down, Lin Yi charged toward the next.

To Lin Yi, dealing with these men was like handling three-year-olds with toy guns—no pressure at all.

Bang bang bang!

Lin Yi used a combination of fists and kicks.

He took out each opponent with a single strike. In about half a minute, he had knocked out all of Wei Jianlong’s men.

Meanwhile, the gunfire on the other side was starting to die down.

Lin Yi glanced back and saw that all of Wei Jianlong’s armed men were down, clutching their wounds in pools of blood.

The seaside was quiet again, with only the sound of waves breaking on the shore.

Seeing his men defeated, Wei Jianlong’s face turned ashen. From start to finish, it hadn’t even been a minute, and all thirty of his men were down.

The scene was too surreal for him.

He hadn’t even had time to comprehend what was happening before all his men were down.

It felt like a dream.

“You… you’re actually this powerful…”

“Is that so impressive?” Ning Che replied.

“The only reason we left you alive is because you haven’t committed any serious crimes. If we killed you all, it would have saved us at least half the time.”

Wei Jianlong’s expression faltered. He didn’t understand what Ning Che meant.

He knew full well that his crimes warranted at least ten executions.

Yet, she said he hadn’t committed any serious crimes?

And she said killing them all would have saved time? Were these people really ordinary police officers?

“Who are you? If you’re really that powerful, why are you here and not out at sea?”

“Don’t even mention those idiots at sea. If I knew who planned that, I’d curse them to hell,” Lin Yi grumbled.

Whee woo! Whee woo!

Just then, the sound of police sirens echoed from a distance.

“What’s going on? Where did the police come from?” Lin Yi muttered.

“No idea. Let’s see what’s happening,” Ning Che replied casually.

“But judging by the scale, it seems like a big deal.”

“They must have some understanding of the situation here. Otherwise, they wouldn’t send so many people.”

Soon, a dozen police cars arrived, surrounding Lin Yi, Ning Che, and the others.

Officers quickly got out, aiming their guns at Lin Yi and Ning Che.

“Don’t move! Raise your hands!”

From their accents, Lin Yi and Ning Che could roughly guess.

These were local Tianjin police.

It was likely that the villagers of Kaijiang had reported the gunfire.

“Relax, we’re on the same side,” Ning Che said.

“Don’t give me that crap. Hands up, or we’ll take you down!”

Faced with the scene, none of the police officers dared to act rashly.

The sight of these two, a man and a woman, having taken down over thirty armed men without a scratch.

They were dangerous individuals.

Ning Che rolled her eyes, then reached inside her jacket and pulled out her ID, tossing it to the lead officer.

“Take a look at this.”

“What the…”

The lead officer’s eyes widened in shock as he examined the ID. Then he called out to the others,

“Stand down! Lower your weapons—they’re on our side!”

After giving the order, the lead officer snapped to attention and saluted Ning Che.

“Good evening, ma’am!”

“Ma’am?”

Wei Jianlong was dumbfounded.

What was going on?

Were these military personnel?

Had the army really been sent to catch him?

Ning Che waved her hand dismissively. “Now that you’re here, I won’t need to call anyone else. Take these men to Yanjing. You can share in the credit for this operation.”

“Thank you, ma’am.”

With the task handled, Lin Yi and Ning Che got into their car, leaving the Tianjin police to take care of Wei Jianlong and the others.

“Boss, you called those two ‘ma’am’ and ‘sir.’ What ranks are they?”

A young officer asked curiously as they escorted Wei Jianlong.

“They’re majors.”

Wei Jianlong, “???”

They sent majors to capture me?

That’s very considerate of you!
