Chapter 2373: Prince of Darkness

Sam went to Wharton's office, where apart from the Dean, two other people are waiting for him.

Dove and Ling Tian had serious expressions on their faces as they awaited his visit.

"Where did you go? I told you to stay put in your room for now." Dove started giving it to him immediately. Sam just shrugged and took a seat comfortably.

Wharton gestured Ling Tian to speak. It seemed like he is way too bored to speak out loud.

"With all the shit that you stirred, it is safe to say that you are on top of everyone's kill list. I am sure you understand that part."

"Of course."

"I am also sure that you are wondering why there are no attacks at all. You might have anticipated that someone will break the cease on violence."

"A man can hope."

"That will not happen. Everyone suffered too many losses. So, even the egos are on the back burners for now.

Sam left them and went back to his dorm. He went into a deep thought. There are too many things to do, a limited time. The whole academy realm is currently in a state of calm before storm. It is going to explode soon and he needs to cover all of his bases.

After some time, he came to a decision and went back to Hub secretly.

He connected with the Hub constructed in the Duat region. A bird puppet discreetly flew over the Duat region's hub and went to the Set's academy. It flew over through the gaps in their surveillance and landed in front of a residence deep inside the academy.

The moment it landed, Elder Trike walked out and looked at the bird puppet with a smirk on his face.

He thought for a moment and took out the wrist band from his storage. Unlike most people he didn't destroy the wrist band. Because like most people, he didn't have any secrets that the Hub to could leverage on.

The only reason he removed it is to keep up the appearances.

The moment he strapped the wrist band on, the bird puppet flew forward. It activated with the new glow.

The elder caught it and brought it inside.

The moment they are in, the puppet's eyes projected an image of Sam.

"Hello, I have been waiting for you to contact me." Trike said with a smile.

"Same. I was also waiting for you. But I have way too many things to do. I couldn't delay this anymore."

"I was not sure when would be the right time. I figured, my presence in the Olympian region will stir unnecessary circumstances."

"Its fine.

Now that we are here, let's discuss the terms of the deal. But before we do that, I have some information that you might want to see."

"I am interested."

"First of all, I kind of know what the purpose of that black fog is. And the guy that you picked, the guy that I stole this black fog from, is not the one that serves your purpose."

Trike was stunned for a moment and the smile returned.

"What do you even know about the purpose of the fog?"

"More than you expect me to know. I don't want to get too deep into it. I am sure, the academy realm's formation wouldn't be the greatest of audience for that type of discussion.

However, I do have some information that might convince you of my knowledge."

Sam paused and the image changed. A new projection appeared showing the video of an old man, a middle-aged man along with a young man.

The young man is lying on an inscription table. He is buck naked.

The old man, with hunched back and extreme grey complexion moved in a very slow pace as he made some surgical changes to the young man. He even replaced the young man's heart with a purple colored heart that was inscribed by thousands of inscription patterns. Trike's eyes widened and his grip over the arm rest has tightened. He broke the chair and stood up in rage. His aura is almost out of control and it took a lot out of him before he managed to control himself.

The conversation of the video after the surgical process has been completed, only confirmed

Sam's story.

"The heart is now capable to withholding the black fog. This worthless son of yours can now become the vessel to be the prince of darkness."

"Grandfather. Do you think this will cause us any trouble? Are you sure that we can slip this

past the Set academy? Trike is very perceptive."

"Trike? That bastard is still sucking his mother's breasts when I started working on my

experiments on enhanced organs.

He can never get past my deception.

And anyway, who is to know that my creation is not worthy of being the child of darkness? You know the requirements given by Set. There is no way a human being can have those qualities. The video ended there and Sam's face came back on.

"That old goat. I should have skinned him when I got the chance." Trike said through gritted

teeth. He paused for a moment and calmed himself down before saying.

"You are not just related to the Hub. You are deeply linked with it aren't you? You are affiliated with its makers. You are part of their deep inner circle, aren't you?"

Sam didn't confirm or deny it.

"I won't ask how you got this information. But this changes a lot. Now, tell me what your

proposition is."

"Okay, what I want is a complete and absolute protection from any forces that are in the Duat region or anyway related to the Duat region along with the resources of my choice in the

quantity that we can agree on later.

In exchange, I will give you two things.

I will reveal you the information on every mole that is in the Set academy and every person

that is working with someone outside to bring down the Set academy.

This information also who in the Duat region has any kind of leverage on you guys and any

plots that are going on against you academy.

The second thing is that I will give you the prince of darkness.

A true prince of darkness that satisfies your requirements."
