Chapter 2042: Taking Action

Chapter 2042: Taking Action

The gray-haired beastman gave the signal for Grey to join the fight, but to his dismay, even after three seconds, he still had not seen the presence of Grey. He could not help but feel his heart tremble as a bad premonition arose. If this strange boy refused to help them at the last minute, they would be in serious danger.

Compared to their opponents, they were not in full strength. In fact, other than the injured Peak Sovereign, even the white-clothed beastman was not in full strength. He too suffered from Grey’s attack and had not fully healed. The second one of them died, the rest would eventually follow.

While the gray-haired beastman was starting to regret his actions and curse at his greed, Grey was currently observing the situation. It was not that he did not see the gray-haired beastman’s signal, it was just that he changed the plan at the last minute. If he were to help the gray-haired beastman, then the injured Peak Sovereign would die even before they killed the other Peak Sovereign. One has to know that a Peak Sovereign could not be killed easily, even if Grey launched a sneak attack, it would still take some time to deal with him.

With this thought in mind, Grey communicated with Void to help send Klaus and the others into the battlefield of those in the Seventh stage of the Sovereign Plane. Klaus naturally had no plans of fighting Seventh stage Sovereigns, neither did Alice and Reynolds. Grey could not care less about this, he simply told them to do as they pleased. He needed Void’s help to quickly end this battle, so he could only make a move after Klaus and the others had been sent into the battlefield.

It only took a moment for both Grey and Void to send the trio into the battlefield.

Their sudden arrival caught the opposing beastpeople clan by surprise as they had never seen beings like them before. Other than Magical Beasts, only the beastpeople had humanoid features. Most of them had never laid their eyes on any human before, so seeing three who looked like them, but also did not look like them, they were slightly taken aback.

At the same time Alice and the other two appeared on the battlefield, Grey and Void silently appeared behind the Peak Sovereign beastman that was fighting the injured beastman. Having the complete advantage, it had the luxury to observe the situation around. The sight of the three new arrivals shocked him, at the same time, he felt his heart clench as a great sense of danger washed over him. He could swear that he was currently perceiving the stench of death.

Magical Beasts had keen senses, and the same went for these beastpeople. In a certain sense, this was the same reason the gray-haired beastman realised that they could not deal with Grey, hence the reason he decided to make a deal with him. At least in this way, even though they would lose their sacred treasure, he could make up for it with what they were getting from this clan.

Forget how the Peak Sovereigns of this clan were bathing in a pool of lava, deep under the lava was a shockingly pure source of lightning essence. As long as they could soak in it for a short time, the benefits would be even better than what they would get from their sacred treasure.

Grey naturally had no idea about this, he only knew that the gray-haired beastman would never want to suffer massive loss, so the treasures here must be at least on the same level as the lightning crystal he took from them.

Void used his space element to make the region around the Peak Sovereign beastman extremely murky, almost making it seem like the beastman was trapped in a muddy swamp as he found it hard to move.

Grey, taking advantage of this, struck out with a powerful four colored fusion orb. He did not want to waste too much time, so he used one of his strongest abilities; although, he did not go all out.

Even though the Peak Sovereign beastman did not expect the attack, he was still a Peak Sovereign after all. He reacted quickly, turning around to block the attack.

When Grey attacked, his aura leaked out which the Peak Sovereign ascertained was that of an Eighth stage Sovereign. A mocking smile appeared on his face as he made a move to block the attack.

His smile soon turned to disbelief as the attack grew closer to him. How could he not sense the danger hiding in this seemingly ordinary attack. Understanding he was in a perilous situation, the beastman roared as he put in all his effort into defending.

Boom!

A powerful shockwave blasted out as the fusion orb struck the beastman whose cry of agony followed after.

The attack was just too powerful, and even with someone as strong as himself, he was still left injured by this one strike.

Bang!

The figure of the beastman crashed into the ground, stunning the entire battlefield, well, those mostly from his clan.

The gray-haired beastman clan had already experienced Grey’s ferocious attacks and knew just how powerful this young boy was, it was even more so for the injured beastman. As he watched his opponent crashing into the ground, he could not help but recall his situation as well. He too was struck by the cooperation of this cat and strange boy, and he suffered dearly from it. Seeing someone else experience his pain, he felt a little at ease about it. Coming here, he still bore a grudge towards Grey, but now it had reduced slightly.

The beastman who had a claw mark scar on his chest was shocked, never expecting anything like this to happen. Observing the expression of the gray-haired beastman, he quickly understood that they had been tricked.

Gritting his teeth, he lashed out furiously, trying to force the gray-haired beastman away so that he could retreat and possibly help his companions.

The gray-haired beastman would never give him such an opportunity. After having to lower his head for Grey’s help, and even offering a considerable amount of their rewards to him, of course he had to make sure they dealt with all loose ends.

After Grey appeared, he did not stop after just one round of attacks. There were four Peak Sovereigns here, and even though dealing with one could help, he knew that was not enough to change the tide of the battle, besides, the Peak Sovereign was only injured and not dead yet.

Without hesitation, he launched a series of fire elemental attacks at the place where the beastman crashed, hoping to cause more harm.

The beastman was already seriously injured from the initial sneak attack, having to face a series of attacks, he roared in anger and pain.

Grey, noticing the beastman he helped standing idly watching, he said coldly, "Attack, what are you standing there for?"

Void was obviously the one who relayed his message to the beastman, causing an embarrassing look to appear on the face of the beastman before he too joined the fight.

Grey attacked a few more times before changing targets. This beastman might not be dead, but his injuries were worse than his opponent from before, and now he would be the one at a disadvantage when facing his opponent.

Grey turned his attention to the white-clothed beastman, among the group, he was the other one who was heavily overpowered, although not on the same level as his injured companion, he was not a match for his opponent at the moment.

Sensing Grey’s gaze, a look of hope appeared on his face.

However, Grey only snickered before turning around and blasting an attack at the opponent of the only female among the four Peak Sovereigns he came here with. Even though this beastwoman was holding her own against her opponent, Grey still opted to assist her first. His reason was simple, the white-clothed beastman was too haughty, and had always had thoughts of fighting him. It would do no one any harm to let him suffer a little more.

The white-clothed beastman cursed out, but luckily, Grey could not understand a word coming out of his mouth, and even if he could, he would not care in the slightest bit.

It took Grey a little longer to help the beastwoman gain an advantage. Unlike the first time, his opponent had no knowledge of him nor how strong he was. This time, this beastman knew that this unassuming young man was very powerful, and if he were the slightest bit careless, he would fall into danger like his companion.

Faced against two powerful enemies, the beastman fought valiantly, alas, two hands could not block four. After only two minutes, he had been beaten black and blue, his condition being even worse than his companion as he lost an arm in the process.
