Chapter 1637: The Alternate Path’s Transcendence
Wang Wei was in deep thought, trying to figure out whether he should exchange with Shenghuovi — and if he does, what to trade — when a sudden voice entered his mind: "Here," followed by a transmission of knowledge.
’Wife, you treat me the best.’
’If I don’t treat you well, who else will?’ Wu Hong almost rolled her eyes. The information she acquired was basic, but it was enough to allow her to peer into the foundation and essence of these Chaos Demon Gods. Wang Wei smiled as he took a quick glance at these techniques.
The core of these techniques is something called the [Origin], and the best way Wang Wei could explain it is that it’s a more chaotic, less refined, less complex, and more accessible form of the Grand Dao Source. Upon comparison, it’s noticeable that the Grand Dao Source is the evolution of the [Origin].
’The [Origin] is kind of interesting,’ Wang Wei thought.
’It is,’ Wu Hong nodded. ’While the Grand Dao Source behaves like an aloof Supreme Source of Laws and Dao, the [Origin] feels more like the final destination of Law Cultivation. You can tell these Chaos Demon Gods started by cultivating Chaos and Heaven Laws, followed by Primordial Laws, before accessing the Origin Laws.’
’It may not have been a good thing for all of us to skip all these laws and directly access the Grand Dao Source,’ Wang Wei added. ’I can see that in terms of complexity and subtlety, these techniques are really terrible by today’s standards. They are too direct, too easily detectable in battles, and reveal too much information when used. However, their power is unfathomably potent because of the underlying deep understanding of the law.’
’I think the lack of complexity is more because these Chaos Demon Gods were born at the pinnacle of the world with no competition, and their society had little to no conflict since they considered themselves brothers and sisters,’ Wu Hong added. ’But I agree with you. We may have to consider studying these alternate laws before sanctifying.’
Wang Wei had had this idea ever since the Deception Trial. However, he planned to do it after entering the Quintessence Realm. But now, it appeared such a step was needed before entering that realm. ’You know this technique has reminded me of something I haven’t thought about in a while.’
’What?’
’Maybe, the other paths should not have been separated; to be precise, the Emperor Path, while considered the combination of the others, does not feel this way.’
’When you reach the Paragon Realm, you must study Qi and have enough reserves in the Source Qi Space to master it. Additionally, we also have our own world in the form of the Grandmist Wheel. What else would you want to do?’
’Both these things you mention rely on Grand Dao’s creation, or are limited by her rules,’ Wang Wei said. ’As for my ideas? We could start by creating a special energy tailored to my individual body and needs.’
’Some people have tried that, and the result is that by the time they become a Primal, all energies have become useless because their abilities to boost attacks are abysmal. And that’s not mentioning how even the most powerful body cannot hold as much energy as the Source Qi Space. So, unless your goal is to cease your overeliance on Grand Dao, this approach is useless.’
’It’s not useless if the energy was designed to reduce the burden of using Ultimate and Grand Construct Skill. It would have lasted until the third transcendent foundation,’ Wang Wei explained. ’And honestly, I think that even if the energy is useless in the Paragon Realm, it might not be so in the Quintessence Realm. Plus, you’re right, the fundamental idea is to reduce reliance on Grand Dao.’
’You make a good point. We could even store the energy inside the Grandmist Wheel for more room,’ Wu Hong said. ’We could store it in the environment and have the Creation Life cultivate it, create more, and even purify it.’
’You’re not thinking large enough,’ Wang Wei continued. ’We can probably create a River of Time and build an Infinite Trichiliocosm to have endless timelines to store energy.’
’I once tried fusing the continent’s River of Time with my Grandmist Wheel, and it was destroyed, so I believe that’s something probably only a Saint can do,’ Wu Hong explained.
’More reasons to find a way to no longer be limited by how Grand Dao does things,’ Wang Wei replied.
’It’s possible if you refine a special Dao Seed and combine it with a Time Node Crystal.’
’What the hell?’ Wu Hong cursed.
’By Buddha’s balls, that is a profound invasion of prophecy,’ Wang Wei yelled.
’Watch your tongue, boy,’ Maitreya warned. ’And I didn’t mean to listen to your conversation. But even without trying, I can detect the direct link between you two and easily interpret what you’re saying purely based on the fluctuations.’
Wang Wei caressed his temples as he groaned softly. ’You Saints are too powerful for your own good.’
’You’ll get there one day, and I doubt you’ll feel the same way,’ Maitreya replied. ’Back to the topic. If you want to create a unique energy for Saint, you would need to understand the essence of Source Qi and use a lot of it for the transformation process.’
’First of all, what is a Time Node Crystal? Second of all, is Source Qi real?’
’There are many branches or tributaries of the River of Time which are considered Time Nodes, and the rumor is that if you refine all the time power in these branches, you can condense a Time Node Crystal,’ Wu Hong explained.
’Wait, those branches are connected to the time flow and regulation of a Chaos World. Does that mean you must destroy these worlds to refine this crystal?
’Technically, the world would not instantly be destroyed, but yes,’ Wu Hong nodded. Without a River of Time, numerous issues would arise, and the Chaos World would ultimately lead to destruction, but the process would be prolonged and painful.
’There are free-flowing branches, but they are rare,’ Maitreya added.
’That would make things less complicated,’ Wang Wei thought. The destruction of a Chaos World can be a simple matter or a bigger issue; it all depends on which world is used. ’Source Qi?’
’Yes, Source Qi is a real thing, and it’s the standard transcendent path of the Immortal Path.’
’So, they can indeed become Saints.’
’The Pillar Foundation Systems was designed based on the Three Main Paths,’ Maitreya continued. ’Immortals are supposed to achieve 1-3 pillars, Dao Ancestors correspond to 4-6 pillars, Emperor Paths are 7-9 pillars, and 10-12 pillars are for the Eternal or Boundless Paragons.’
’That makes a lot of sense,’ Wang Wei nodded.
’The thirteenth?’ Wu Hong asked.
’I only know that it’s reserved for the truly unique individuals,’ Maitreya replied.
’A little vague, but I guess Grand Dao wouldn’t want this information to be readily available,’ Wang Wei commented. ’What about Dao Ancestors? What’s their standard transcendent path?’
’The first step is to condense a Heavenly Dao inside their Inner World.’
’Really? In that case, the second step is probably to fuse their Inner World with their flesh, thus becoming a living universe. The third step would be to turn their Dao into a miniature Grand Dao Source, following the same step as the Emperor Path of creating a Grand Construct.’
Maitreya glanced at Wang Wei. After knowing the basic truth about the Dao Path, she spent years calculating and deducing their way forward to find inspiration. And only after a slow process of eliminating ideas, including the need for them to create their own Heaven Laws, or maybe more than one Inner World, that she reached the same conclusion as Wang Wei — albeit with more detail. Yet, the body instantly skipped all these steps. She envied his mind.
’You’re correct.’
’Aren’t any of you freaking out about the possible pitfall behind this path?’ Wang Wei asked.
’What do you mean?’ For once, even Wu Hong was not following his thinking.
’Saint, can you block the area for detection? I don’t want any trouble,’ Wang Wei said.
’No problem.’ No one — except for Shenghuovi — noticed an invisible power blocking the Heavenly Court. So, she glanced at Maitreya. Her senses were no longer as sharp as before, so she couldn’t spy on their conversation. Plus, now that Maitreya was involved, security was guaranteed.
Now that he felt more secure, Wang Wei said. ’By the time the Dao Path becomes Grand Dao Source, they will be a walking mini-Chaos Universe. If Grand Dao ever needed a little nourishment, they would be the perfect meal.’
The two were quiet for a moment. This was a possibility, and a horrifying one at that.
’I think you’ve wronged Grand Dao this time,’ Maitreya said after a few seconds.
’You have a different opinion?’
’The Transcendent Feedback,’ Maitreya replied. ’The purpose of this path is to increase the feedback received after the Dao Paths detached themselves.’
