Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1636: Mobilization

Chapter 1636: Mobilization

Maitreya was satisfied with the response. One of her goals for revealing such damning news was to wake up some of these people. She noticed that too many of them viewed this upcoming disaster as another Second Origin War, albeit with a bit more danger, as a few Saints might participate. This was far from the truth, so she needed to sober them since they were drunk on their previous glory.

"Now that you understand the severity of the situation, we can start our final war mobilization," Maitreya announced. "And before someone asked, I will temporarily hold the Heavenly Emperor Position. Whoever contributes most to this war can have the position." Those strings of words instantly concluded one of the primary issues on these people’s minds.

Maitreya glanced at Sage Rune Halo, and the latter waved his hand to summon a spatial artifact for every individual present. Inside was a talisman, a blueprint, and a recording on how to refine it. Everyone was briefly confused until the Saint explained.

"Grand Strategist Qiyuan had a brilliant idea to cover the battlefield with a formation imbued with my [Hierarchy Existence]. With it, you’ll only need to kill your enemy once, and they will experience true death. The talisman is to protect you from the effect."

Everybody’s eyes lit up. During the Second Origin War, No-Life Iron became extremely valuable as it countered cultivators’ longevity resources. However, this formation was even more impressive since it actually removed the troublesome eternal aspect of the enemy. It even reduced the need for ChronoSpirit Skills since they now only need to kill the opponent to send them into the dirt permanently.

"The people serving the court will be handed a talisman, but you must refine your own for non-court-related uses," Maitreye continued. She paused to give them a moment to gather their thoughts. "Any questions or concerns?"

"I have one," Shen Tian asked. "Is this thing safe? I mean, don’t we have to worry about the possibility of the talisman ending in the enemy’s hand, and they study how it operates?"

"That’s true. It might be better to create a less obvious or accessible method, for example, a soul mark or karmic connection."

"That is not possible," Maitreya replied. "The reason the talisman was used is that it also provides protection; it stops your [Existence] from being assimilated by mine through the array."

"Is that so?"

"As for the issue of security?" Maitreya glanced at Wu Hong, followed by the Sage Rune Halo. "The best of the best worked with me to design it."

"I’m relieved then," Shen Tian nodded.

"Anybody else?"

"Could we buy it directly from the court?" Sea Sovereign asked. The Sea Race had its own unique Water Alchemy and independent Rune System, but even so, based on an initial judgment, it will not be easy to refine these talismans, let alone create a large quantity of them.

"Yes," she nodded. Wu Hong and the sage streamlined the blueprint to ensure that most people could refine it, but this is still a highly complex talisman, so they anticipated that more people might want to buy it from them. This answer pleased many people, even if they didn’t show it.

Maitreya waited a few seconds for more questions about this subject before moving on. "I’d like to introduce a few people." She motioned to a young man with profound eyes, who slowly stood and bowed to the crowd. Everyone gazed at this young man with a strange aura.

"This is Liang Shixian, the founder of the Soul King Path," Maitreya continued. "He’s responsible for bringing back the Soul Path to the Eternal Ascension World, and recently, he finally completed his path." A recording talisman appeared before everybody with detailed information about the soul path, starting from the Soul King Realm, to the Soul Lord and Soul Emperor. The talisman contained a direct cultivation method, along with a detailed analysis of this path’s pros and cons.

’He changed the name?" Wang Wei thought. In the Dao Language, the characters for [Soul] and [God] are essentially the same. The difference can be based on context clues, pronunciation, or how it was written. It’s apparent to him that Liang Shixian is now using the soul definition instead of God.

’It’s either he’s mature and lost his false sense of grandeur, or he suffered at the hands of a God, so he had to change it,’ Wang Wei thought.

The attendees finished reviewing the talisman and looked at the Saint with puzzlement in their eyes. What was the point of giving them this information instead of just putting this technique in the Myriad Temple of Record? While this Soul Path was interesting, it had no direct benefit to them except for having more choices to raise cannon fodder for their factions.

"Liang Shixian and I created this technique called the Insurgent Soul Ring," Maitreya continued. A new talisman materialized in front of everybody. "It allows an individual to condense a unique soul ring capable of absorbing the soul of Paragons to raise the caster into an Insurgent. This technique will be applied in the court’s Alternate Path Army, and you are also free to use it."

"Wait, is this technique applicable to all paths?" Wang Wei asked.

"Yes," Maitreya nodded. "But with lesser effects. According to my deduction, it takes between 10 and 15 Paragon Souls for a Soul Emperor, and a 25% chance of success. A Dao Ruler needs at least twice that number with only a 15% chance of success, and an Immortal King requires five times the number, with a less than 5% chance of success.

"As for Paragons? Non-Primals can use it to create a reserve of soul energy and increase their stamina."

Wang Wei’s lips twitched. He wanted to scream: Why is everybody plagiarizing his ideas? To be fair, techniques to reduce the intense effect of using Ultimate and Grand Construct Skills have existed since the dawn of time; it’s just that in this scenario, Maitreya was indeed inspired by his Soul Ring.

The reaction to this information was rather neutral. This technique was revolutionary: a universal method of cultivating Insurgents. With the upcoming disaster, this is a strategic invention that is destined to give them an advantage. However, an increase in Insurgents in the world is a threat to the Emperor Path.

And as always, the loose cultivators are the ones who will suffer the most. Before, they could easily bully the other paths when competing for resources. However, now these people have a means to resist, compete, and even challenge their status or position in the world.

Some people wanted to express their opposition, or at the very least, request that this technique not be distributed so freely. But no one dares do so. Their fear of that Golden Buddha staring at them still lingers to this day. Sadly, the days of using politics to solve issues are long gone.

’I never thought I would see him on this stage,’ Wang Wei thought while looking at Liang Shixian. He still remembered when the latter made a deal with him to create the Soul Path. It’s wonderful what a person can achieve once they are truly driven. ’The good news is I’m about to become wealthy again.’

Regardless, he remains one of the co-founders of Soul Path. Although he had no hands on the subsequent realms, the foundation was created by him, so he is still entitled to a part of the merit. It also helped that his idea was used in the invention of the Insurgent Soul Ring Technique.

"The second person I will introduce you to is the Shenghuovi, the Life Chaos Demon God," Maitreya pointed to an extremely beautiful woman in white robes with green hair and silver eyes. She smiled gently before cupping her hands to bow.

"I’m new to this era’s custom, so forgive me if my form is not proper." Her voice was soothing, just like a mother’s lullaby.

"Shenghuovi has chosen to become our ally for this war, and she will be the court’s Heavenly Doctor. If you are severely injured and need recuperation and do not want to waste merit, you can come to her. With her skills, she can heal minor to middle-tier [Existence] injuries.

"Additionally, she has agreed to share her knowledge and information, but only for the right price. As for what that is? You need to negotiate with her."

"What I know is valuable, and I believe in fair exchange, so be prepared," Shenghuovi nodded.

No one expected this to happen. As of now, everybody was operating under the assumption that the Chaos Demon Gods would most likely be a problem to deal with. No one expected one of them to join their sides, and she did it so openly.

’I wonder what kind of deal these two made?’ Wang Wei thought. There is no way to know exactly unless he asks, but he could deduce the general idea. Shenghuovi probably only cares about returning to her peak. Meanwhile, Maitreya was to survive this catastrophe and further her transcendent path. Their agreement is probably something that benefited both sides.
