Chapter 477: Such Important Origins
“Don’t see that we have been living in seclusion in this remote and barren village? Yet the younger generation consider themselves to be from a noble family. Their eyes are higher than the top of their heads and the arrogance in their bones is at an extreme. Therefore, it feels like a slap to their faces when they see their own affairs handled by an outsider. They could not live up to the reputation they think they possess when in actuality they themselves are not so capable as to possess such a reputation yet,” assessed Su Yizhi with a sneer.
‘They can’t be blamed too much actually. Fearfully, it will be the same if others were in the same situation. Furthermore, with their cultivation standards, they had the right to be proud indeed,’ thought Ling Chuxi to herself without taking Su Yizhi’s words so seriously. She had already witnessed the same so-called arrogance from others from noble families such as Lan Xinyu and Xiao Tianying. She reckoned that even the Ling Family disciples would be the same in the future. If she really wanted to mention it, frankly, the young people of the Su Family were much stronger than those of the Lings. It was not strange for them to be slightly proud.
However, when Ling Chuxi mentioned her thoughts to Su Yizhi, he responded even more harshly. “Do they really have the right to be this proud? If you knew the origins of the Su Family, fearfully, you would not have such thoughts,” replied Su Yizhi with disdain. Of course, this disdain was directed at the arrogant young disciples of the Su Family he was condemning.
“Oh?” Ling Chuxi looked at Su Yizhi curiously.
“Miss Ling, you definitely know about sects too, right?” said Su Yizhi.
“Yes, I do,” said Ling Chuxi, looking at Su Yizhi. Could it be that there was a sect behind the Su Family as well? If it was so, then the cultivation of the young generation of the Su Family was really nothing to be proud of. Not comparable with that of her brother’s or Ye Qianhe, who was so valiant even if he was merely just an outer disciple of a sect. Compared to those examples, these descendants of the Su Family were considered nothing.
“You have guessed correctly. The Su Family are descendants of a sect. Our ancestors originated from the Golden Pill Sect. A thousand years ago, the Golden Pill Sect was famous amongst the other great sects for its craft of gold medical pills and it was even ranked as one of the five great sects. But there was an internal rebellion within Golden Pill Sect and soon after that, they met with an invasion by a strong enemy. In the end, the sect was destroyed, and its disciples wandered off everywhere else,” answered Su Yizhi when he saw the shock on Ling Chuxi’s face.
Ling Chuxi had never really thought that the Su Family would turn out to have such important origins. She was extremely shocked and continued listening without speaking.
“When the sect was broken up, the master of the sect died in service. Before he died, he divided up the secret medical skills of the Golden Pill Sect into three parts and personally passed them on to three different disciples. He then ordered them to escape the sect. An ancestor of the Su Family was one of the disciples whom he personally passed on a part of the secret medical skills to. Of course, the master of the sect did this in hopes that these three disciples will be able to revitalize the sect in the future after sleeping on brushwood and tasting gall. The initial few generations of these three disciples had strictly kept their ancestral training and were all united. But as time went on, the hearts of the people became scattered and they only cared for their own selfish interests. Who would still care about revitalizing the sect?”
“You have also already seen the descendants of the Su Family. They value their old brooms merely because it’s theirs and they are blind and arrogant. Without mentioning those young people, only Su Yizhen and a few other elders know about the history of the Su Family. Who else would still remember the sect?” snorted Su Yizhi as he spoke till here.
“Senior, why are you telling me these matters though?” asked Ling Chuxi, somewhat puzzled. Logically speaking, these were the private family matters of the Su Family and some of them were even secrets. Even if Su Yizhi needed her to participate in the Sword Pill Meeting on their behalf, there was no need to tell her all these things.
Su Yizhi was silent for a short while before bringing forth words which could break rocks and shatter the skies: “Because I want to hand over Resurrection Hall into your hands.” His tone was unprecedentedly solemn.
“What?!” Ling Chuxi looked at Su Yizhi in shock. Resurrection Hall equated to the Su Family. By saying this, did he also mean that he was handing over the Su Family into her hands? If she was not mistaken, she was unfamiliar with Su Yizhi and likewise he with her. Not only were they unfamiliar, but they were also strangers who had never met before this. Was this Su Yizhi having a fever? Were his brains burnt out by the fever? This assumption was naturally impossible! But still, why?
