Chapter 423: Thank You
“It is the last time for me to call you Senior Sister.” Huang Xuan said with a shivering voice.
Having said these words, she stood still on the spot for a while.
Xia Yinghan turned around directly, saying nothing to her or looking at her.
Huang Xuan sneered at herself and left with the Dean with her luggage.
Xia Yinghan did not look at Huang Xuan one more time after they walked out of the room. She was standing like a numb statue.
Xue Feihan frowned and said, “You are so cold-hearted.”
Having said this, he rushed out.
Xia Yinghan turned around and saw Xue Feihan’s retreating figure. She was confused – she wasn’t wrong, Huang Xuan did make a mistake, and she should have admitted that! The poison could have killed someone just for her bet! How dare she drug that man for her own sake?
Feihan liked her, so he took the blame for her, but that did not mean that she could pretend as if such things had never happened.
If she refused to admit the mistake, she would not accept her as a Junior Sister, no matter whether she was accepting her as her Senior Sister!
Why was she wrong in Feihan’s eyes?
Xia Yinghan felt tears lingering at the edge of her eyes.

In the wing-yard of the Medical Department.
Gu Chaoyan was making the medicine in the small room.
It was a very quiet place, but everything needed was available.
Due to what had happened, Gu Chaoyan did not allow anyone to interfere with her treatment of the patient. So she did everything herself.
When Zhou Huaijin walked in, he saw her back.
He stepped forward, took hold of her and placed his face against her hair.
Gu Chaoyan sensed the familiar scent. Instead of moving, she stayed in his arms. “What is it?”
“Thank you, Chaoyan.” Zhou Huaijin sounded a bit feeable. That was a tone he never showed to anyone else. “If not for you, Mother would not have noticed anything, and it would have been too late when we knew about it.”
Gu Chaoyan placed the lid upon the jar.
She turned around and looked at Zhou Huaijin – The Queen was his mother, someone very important to him. That was why he was in such a mood.
“Why are we saying thank-you between us?” Gu Chaoyan looked determined. “That’s what I should do.”
Then she took out a medical bottle from her arms.
Then she passed it to Zhou Huaijin. “That’s the medical pills I have made, I did not bring this with me on my visit to the court since I was in a hurry. Pass this to The Queen. She should do well with it.”
Zhou Huaijin accepted the bottle.
Then he caressed her face, intending to burst out one more thank-you when he realized that he might have shown too much coutersey. So he gave her a soft kiss on the eyes.
Then he took a seat in the room with her.
It was a room full of the smell of herbs, but Zhou Huaijin seemed quite used to that.
“It was the Empress Dowager?” Gu Chaoyan asked.
Zhou Huaijin nodded.
She moved her lips and was about to say something when she stopped herself.
“I need to go, I may have no time to see you these days, take good care of yourself.” Zhou Huaijin gave her a hug and was about to leave.
As they were talking…
The medicine was done.
Gu Chaoyan put down the jar, and was about to pour the medicine into the bowl when the Dean showed up.
“Chaoyan, I bumped into your father today outside the court today, he has a word for you.”
