Gasps rippled across the battlefield. They had all witnessed Long Chen nearly shatter the Heavenly Devil Zither’s defenses. Yet, Tian Leizi had carved a bloody line across Long Chen’s neck using nothing but his fingertip.

Just as everyone’s attention was drawn to Tian Leizi, a shadow flickered behind Long Chen and thrust a staff toward him.

The staff expanded mid-strike, piercing clean through Long Chen’s torso until his body dissolved like smoke.

The real Long Chen was already miles away.

Space tore open as the attacker emerged. It was that giant from the Dark line.

No one had expected this giant fellow to launch assassin-style sneak attacks. His timing had also been flawless. Anyone else would have died without understanding how.

“I am the Dark Servant Tuo Ya!” the giant bellowed. “You slaughtered countless members of my Dark line. Today, you will die!”

“You really talk too much! Hurry up and kill him! Otherwise, once I settle my affairs, I’ll kill you all myself!” roared the Heaven Earth Cauldron.

Only now did it realize the truth: the Earth Cauldron’s will was tied directly to Long Chen. A sliver of its core energy slept within Long Chen’s soul.

Unless Long Chen died, the Heaven Earth Cauldron’s Earth energy would remain incomplete, and the Heaven Cauldron would never fully swallow its counterpart.

Two divine artifacts struck at the same time. In response, Long Chen thrust out both palms, forcing back the Daynight Furnace and the Brahma Divine Diagram.

But Qian Jie’s punch followed immediately.

Long Chen twisted his body, guiding Qian Jie’s blow with his palm to strike Tuo Ya’s staff instead.

A piercing metallic clang rang out. Both Qian Jie and Tuo Ya grunted and staggered backward.

Five monsters were attacking Long Chen crazily, leaving afterimages throughout the sky. They were incredibly fast and powerful, yet none of them could pin Long Chen down.

Long Chen slipped through their encirclement like water through open fingers. He was always one step from death yet never caught.

Before long, people realized what the issue was. The five of them were just too powerful. All of their attacks were huge and devastating, disrupting one another.

As monstrous heavenly geniuses, they had no experience fighting as a group. As a result, their bad teamwork reduced their killing prowess.

Even so, one mistake from Long Chen would mean instant death.

“Work harder! Long Chen’s astral gates are cracking again!” shouted Long Biluo.

Everyone immediately noticed that she was right. Cracks had reappeared on Long Chen’s astral gates.

That meant the nine star heirs Long Chen had slain had not been enough to perfect his astral energy. At most, they had repaired the old damage and prolonged the duration of his eight gates.

Now that the battle had escalated, the astral gates started to crack again. It revealed just how severe the flaw in this nirvanic rebirth truly was. This defect might not even be repairable.

Even though Long Chen did everything he could to avoid direct collisions with the five of them, his energy consumption was terrifying. In just a few breaths, the cracks spread and grew. It was even possible to hear the cracking sounds.

“His aura is falling, quick!” Long Biluo shouted, wishing that she could charge in and join the battle.

Suddenly, an explosive sound rang out. Long Chen had dodged three attacks, but Tian Leizi’s fist still landed. That blow sent him hurtling across the battlefield.

Surrounded by these five experts, Long Chen was rapidly exhausted. In just a few breaths, he was running out of energy. The flaw in the eight gates was fatal.

Tuo Ya saw his chance and charged. With his huge body, it only took him two steps to overtake Long Chen. His staff smashed down.

Just then, a halberd with black qi swept through the air, blocking Tuo Ya’s attack.

“Dark Qi? Who are you?!” Tuo Ya staggered back, shock flashing across his face.

Cang Lu’s Bloodfiend Halberd blocked Tuo Ya’s killing blow. But the armor Long Chen had wrapped around him shattered, revealing his true face.

“You... the Dark Son, Lord Cang Lu...” Tuo Ya shouted in terror.

He was about to kneel and apologize when he realized something was off. He suddenly let out a beast-like roar.

He lunged for Long Chen again, but Cang Lu’s halberd swung down, dark energy erupting as it blasted Tuo Ya backward.

Cang Lu now carried the faint aura of a Divine Sovereign. His dark power was frighteningly explosive.

“Great Dark Son, forgive this Tuo Ya. I will definitely kill Long Chen and avenge you!”

Tuo Ya bowed deeply to Cang Lu before igniting the dark runes over his body. His aura instantly surged.

As a Dark Servant, Tuo Ya was inherently suppressed by the Dark Son. Without burning more power, he couldn’t hope to challenge Cang Lu.

Tuo Ya howled and launched a ferocious assault on Cang Lu, while the other two charged at Long Chen.
