She lifted a corner of the roof to peer down. On the bed, the woman who had been unconscious during the day was now awake, yet lay motionless beneath a quilt. It appeared she wore no clothing underneath.

After a quick glance, she replaced the lifted corner of the blanket and leapt lightly onto the roof of the adjacent room.

Inside the room, one of the elders addressed Cheng Wanli: “The night is deep now. If you must go on your errand, go. But if you fail to discover where the Song family’s treasure is hidden, remember to administer the drug afterward to erase her memory of tonight. We mustn’t alert the enemy prematurely.”

“I know, rest assured! I know what I’m doing.” Cheng Wanli chuckled, rising to his feet and adjusting his robes. His face beaming, he added, “I’ll head out now, Old Fu. Let’s go! I’ll handle things inside; you keep watch outside.”

“Understood.” One of the elders replied, stepping beside him as they walked out together.

After watching them leave the room, Feng Jiu suppressed her aura and slipped into the night, heading toward the main courtyard.

Her eyebrows arched slightly. She hadn’t expected this man to be so impatient—arriving today and already attempting to sneak into the main courtyard tonight. Truly, his lust had made him utterly reckless!
