Mesmerizing Ghost Doctor

Chapter 4835: Little beast

Chapter 4835: Little beast

If Du Fan and his men had been there, this family would not have had the opportunity to escape her immediate wrath.

The pursuers watched as the two figures ascended on their swords, vanishing into the distance. Their faces contorted with hatred, but they knew further pursuit was futile. They were too swift. With a frustrated growl, they turned back, intending to report to their Patriarch. They might have escaped this time, but the next time they set foot in this city, there would be no escape!

Half a month later, in a bustling town, Song Mi’er kept glancing at Feng Jiu, a questioning look in her eyes.

“What’s wrong?” Feng Jiu asked, her gaze fixed ahead as she continued walking at a leisurely pace.

Song Mi’er paused for a moment before speaking. “Sister, who exactly are you? The people we encountered yesterday were incredibly powerful, yet they ultimately retreated with their tails between their legs. I know you must have done something to instill such fear in them.”

Hearing this, Feng Jiu offered a light smile. “I didn’t do anything extraordinary. I simply exerted some pressure. They realized they were no match for me, so naturally, they wouldn’t dare to make enemies of us.”

She turned her head slightly, her gaze playful. “Don’t worry, I won’t sell you.”

Song Mi’er smiled bashfully. “I know, I’m just curious.” Her own family was influential, and she had encountered all sorts of people, but the more time she spent with Feng Jiu, the more she felt that this woman was far from ordinary. Yet, she had never heard of a “Feng family.”

Feng Jiu merely smiled and didn’t elaborate further. She simply led Mi’er into an inn. Once inside their room, she addressed her companion. “You can rest at the inn today. I have some matters to attend to outside. If I’m quick, I might be back in a day, but it could take two or three.”

As she finished speaking, she flicked her sleeve, and Cloud Devouring emerged from her interspatial ring. However, it wasn’t in its usual imposing form. Instead, it appeared small, docile, and utterly harmless.

“This is my contract beast. Let it stay with you while I’m away,” Feng Jiu instructed, glancing at the small creature on the ground and communicating with it through her divine sense. “If you encounter any danger you can’t handle, it can at least protect you.”

“Wow! What a cute little beast,” Mi’er exclaimed, her eyes lighting up. Being a young girl, the appearance of such an adorable pet instantly captivated her. She reached out and gently touched the beast’s round, plump body, a smile spreading across her face. “So much meat. The meat of this little beast must be incredibly tender and delicious.”

In that instant, several dishes flashed through her mind, and she wondered how they would taste if she cooked them.

Cloud Devouring, hearing her thoughts, let out two indignant snorts, shook its head, and promptly dislodged the hand that was stroking it.

“Pfft!”

Feng Jiu couldn’t help but chuckle. She shook her head helplessly. “Mi’er, try not to look at every small beast and immediately think about turning it into a dish.” She glanced at Cloud Devouring. “Its name is Cloud Devouring. It’s not just any small beast.”

“Cloud Devouring?” Mi’er’s eyes sparkled. She looked at the white ball of fluff, which had by now sauntered to the side and hopped onto a chair. With a grin, she said, “It’s been a long time since I’ve made dumplings. Sister, I’ll go make you some dumplings to eat before you leave!”

Feng Jiu watched Mi’er, whose eyes were still fixed on Cloud Devouring, and the corners of her mouth twitched. She couldn’t help but wonder if Mi’er would still want to make dumplings if she knew that Cloud Devouring was, in fact, a Super Sacred Beast.
