Walker Of The Worlds

Chapter 3751: Departing From Mantleheim

Chapter 3751: Departing From Mantleheim

The plan had finally reached its end.

Months of preparation, discussions, gathering information and planning had all led to this point. The route had been selected, the world chosen, the recruitment elder narrowed down and even Lin Mu’s future disguise had begun taking shape.

Now only one thing remained.

He had to leave.

The discussion shifted from infiltration to everything that would happen while he was gone.

Everyone gathered in the hall once more.

Lady Kang, Meng Bai, Daoist Chu, Elyon, Cattaleya, Jing Wei and even several of the Transcendent Dwarf Elders sat together.

The question was simple.

What now?

The answer came quickly.

Everyone intended to remain in Mantleheim.

The hidden dwarven city had become strangely comfortable despite the endless heat and rivers of lava.

The libraries alone were enough to keep Daoist Chu and Meng Bai occupied for decades. Cattaleya still enjoyed sparring with the dwarves and the Transcendent elders from time to time while Elyon continued refining his understanding of darkness.

Lady Kang also planned to stay for a while longer.

She still had business agreements to finalize with the dwarves and supply routes to establish.

Though she also had plans for Lin Mu.

"I will place people near the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect world," she said while spreading a map.

Several stars lit up around a large central world.

"I cannot place them inside the world itself without attracting attention, but ships nearby are another matter."

Her finger tapped several points.

"Supply vessels. Merchant routes. Transport stations."

"No one will question them."

Lin Mu looked at the map.

"If I need help?"

Lady Kang nodded.

"Send word."

"My ships will collect the messages and relay them."

Lin Mu gave her a grateful nod, knowing it would be very helpful to him in case of emergencies.

The arrangement would give him an escape route.

That alone was invaluable.

After that Lin Mu went to the Transcendent Dwarf Elders. The three old dwarves were in one of the great halls drinking as usual. Lin Mu informed them that he would soon depart. The others however would remain.

The elders laughed loudly.

"Boy, they can stay as long as they want!"

"Even if they stay ten thousand years we do not mind."

"Besides, Meng Bai still owes us drinking matches!"

The young man immediately turned pale hearing that.

Everyone laughed.

The following week passed quietly.

Lin Mu settled every remaining matter.

He organized resources.

Left notes.

Updated everyone on his plans.

He also gathered all his tamed beasts and sent them back into the Sleepscape.

The beasts already knew everything through prior discussions and accepted it calmly.

Little Shrubby rubbed against him for quite a while before returning.

The twins coiled around him in farewell while Ashy remained within the sleepscape deep in a trance like ever. Though her energy fluctuations had gotten stronger and Lin Mu was sure she might just be facing an Immortal Tribulation soon enough.

Lin Mu promised them he would stay in contact.

Lady Kang provided several communication tools and backup items.

There were talismans, concealment treasures, emergency pills and even identity documents.

"Take them," she said simply.

"You may never need them."

"But if you do, you will be glad."

Lin Mu accepted.

Though internally he knew his own supplies were already absurd.

Still.

Extra preparation never hurts.

Finally the day arrived as everyone gathered at the teleportation platform. Meng Bai stood straight holding Stasis on his back. Daoist Chu gave several reminders. Elyon simply nodded. Cattaleya punched his shoulder hard enough that most people would explode.

"Do not die."

Lin Mu smiled.

"I will try."

Lady Kang merely looked at him.

"Send messages."

"I will."

Then he left.

He boarded one of Lady Kang’s faster ships rather than using his own.

The vessel cut through the space silently.

Lin Mu kept his identity hidden throughout the trip and eventually arrived near Fox Scion World. He deliberately avoided direct attention. Instead he entered through one of the human kingdoms and quietly made his way toward the teleportation array.

Soon enough he stood within the teleportation hall.

The array activated, space twisted and the long yet short journey began. Inside the teleportation channel Lin Mu did not waste a moment. The courtyard appeared and he sat inside.

Then training resumed.

Acting.

Personas.

Absolute Body Control Art.

Again and again he practiced.

Different expressions.

Different postures.

Different tones.

Sometimes he acted as the righteous sword cultivator.

Other times the glib scholar.

Once in a while Lin Mo forced him to practice the devilish persona and laughed endlessly.

Xukong occasionally commented too.

"You still look like Lin Mu."

"Less sincerity."

"More confidence."

"Stop looking like you want to apologize to everyone."

The old spider found the entire process entertaining.

The journey lasted eighteen days and finally the teleportation ended. Light returned as Lin Mu stepped out.

He had arrived at the Holy Chrysalis World!

The immigration procedures were ordinary and were merchant operated thus being rather relaxed. Lady Kang’s identity papers worked perfectly. Lin Mu currently held the identity of a low level administrative clerk being transferred for business reassignment.

It was simple, forgettable, and ideal, as such no one questioned him. He passed through the checkpoint smoothly. And upon leaving the hall, Lin Mu finally saw the city before him.

"One River City." The name sounded almost laughably simple.

And fittingly enough... The city truly only had one river.

It cut through the entire settlement like a silver ribbon. The city itself was medium sized by cultivation standards. Stone roads stretched ahead. Markets lined the streets. Cultivators and mortals moved together.

The atmosphere felt peaceful.

Lin Mu slowly walked forward but soon he noticed something strange: Statues.

They stood all over the city and each depicted the same scene; A chrysalis splitting apart while something within was emerging.

It was an insect with large wings and a graceful form.

Lin Mu paused before one and remembered the records. The world’s name came from this creature.

"The Stellar Moon Moth." Lin Mu muttered. "So this is it."
