Chapter 3728: Everyone Show Their Progress
Most of the information in the blueprint was incomplete.
Large sections were damaged or entirely missing.
Still, Meng Bai had become fascinated immediately.
He spent months researching related formation systems while consulting rune dwarves and studying ancient puppet arrays.
Eventually he pieced together enough fragments to create something functional.
"Originally the arrays were meant for giant work puppets," Meng Bai explained eagerly. "The control system allowed movement, while the reinforcement layers strengthened the structure continuously. The reanimation functions were used to keep damaged parts operating temporarily while it repaired itself."
He pointed toward several glowing sections within the array.
"I realized that even if I can’t recreate the original puppet body cultivation arrays yet, I might still be able to adapt some of the concepts onto armor itself."
Lin Mu nodded slowly while continuing to observe.
The more he analyzed the formation, the more impressed he became.
Meng Bai’s understanding had clearly advanced enormously.
The array was still rough in several places and lacked stability in others, yet the core concept itself held great potential.
Especially considering the young man’s age and experience.
"It’s a good direction," Lin Mu said honestly.
Meng Bai’s expression brightened even further hearing the praise.
Though Lin Mu also pointed out several flaws immediately afterward.
"The reanimation sections consume too much energy currently," he noted while tracing several runes with his finger. "And these reinforcement nodes overlap inefficiently. If armor damage accumulates too quickly, the control array will destabilize."
Meng Bai immediately nodded seriously while memorizing everything.
The nearby rune dwarves also listened carefully.
Several even started discussing improvements among themselves.
Lin Mu then suggested something else.
"Show me how you fight with Stasis now."
Meng Bai looked excited instantly.
They moved toward one of the large sparring halls shortly afterward while several dwarves followed curiously.
Once there, Meng Bai immediately summoned Stasis.
The pale spatial spear appeared within his hand while faint distortions spread around the weapon.
Lin Mu stood opposite him calmly.
"I’ll only defend," Lin Mu stated. "Attack however you wish."
Meng Bai nodded seriously.
The next moment, his aura erupted.
The young man moved immediately.
WHOOSH!
Stasis thrust forward with astonishing speed while water elemental Qi exploded around the spearhead. The air distorted as a massive stream of water spiraled toward Lin Mu like a dragon.
Lin Mu casually sidestepped.
Meng Bai followed instantly.
The Nine Strikes Mountain Piercing Spear Technique unfolded fluidly one strike after another. Compared to before, the young man’s spear movements had become far more natural and coordinated.
Every strike flowed into the next seamlessly.
Even more interesting was the way Meng Bai combined water elemental techniques alongside the spear.
The moment Stasis moved, surrounding water Qi reacted violently.
Streams of water manifested around Lin Mu from multiple directions simultaneously while the spear itself suddenly extended outward hundreds of meters as condensed water energy wrapped around the weapon.
Lin Mu immediately understood what was happening.
Meng Bai had stored enormous amounts of water elemental Qi within the spear over these months.
Instead of converting all energy into spatial Qi like Collapse, Stasis allowed the stored elemental energies to flow naturally through the weapon thanks to Xukong’s modifications.
The result was surprisingly effective.
Water amplified the spear’s flexibility and reach while simultaneously masking the actual attack paths.
Lin Mu continued defending calmly while observing carefully.
Meng Bai adapted quickly throughout the spar itself.
Sometimes he used straightforward spear strikes.
Other times he created flowing water clones to misdirect attacks.
At one point he even used water currents beneath his feet to accelerate his movements unpredictably.
The young man’s combat style had clearly matured greatly.
Most importantly, he no longer fought rigidly.
There was creativity now.
Confidence.
By the end of the spar, Lin Mu finally nodded approvingly.
"You’ve improved a lot," he said honestly.
Meng Bai immediately grinned widely.
"You really did well in these eight months," Lin Mu continued. "Especially your adaptability with Stasis. Continue refining your control and your spear path will become far more dangerous."
Meng Bai looked incredibly happy hearing the praise.
Next came Daoist Chu.
The man looked particularly smug while taking out dozens of jade slips at once.
"I have been busy too," he declared proudly.
Lin Mu already suspected as much.
Over the following hour, Daoist Chu showed them several newly devised formation concepts.
Some were defensive arrays designed for world fragments that dwarves used but could be applied to buildings or even entire kingdoms.
Others focused on energy circulation efficiency.
One particularly complicated design involved layered spatial stabilization arrays inspired by Mantleheim itself.
Lin Mu carefully reviewed each one.
Though many were incomplete or theoretical, the ideas behind them were genuinely impressive.
Daoist Chu’s understanding of formations had clearly advanced dramatically during these months among the rune dwarves.
Several transcendents even participated in the discussions while debating theoretical improvements.
Finally, only Cattaleya remained.
The woman had been waiting impatiently the entire time.
The moment everyone finished speaking, she immediately pointed at Lin Mu.
"Now fight me properly," she demanded.
Lin Mu already knew what she meant.
"You want to test the Magma Colossus."
"Obviously," she grinned.
The two of them soon headed toward outer space beyond the world fragment while numerous dwarves eagerly followed behind.
Any spar involving Lin Mu or Cattaleya automatically attracted spectators now.
Especially after the magma colossus incident.
Once they arrived in open space, Lin Mu finally activated the technique again.
The surrounding magma and elemental energy gathered rapidly around him.
His body expanded.
Molten armor covered him.
Within moments, the gigantic Magma Colossus appeared once more floating among the drifting world fragments.
Even though it was far smaller than before without the magma sea amplifying it, the form still towered over everything nearby.
Nearly a hundred meters tall.
Its molten body radiated terrifying heat while crimson eyes burned brightly.
Cattaleya grinned wildly.
Then she attacked instantly.
BOOOOM!
Her massive sword collided against Lin Mu’s gigantic molten arm with enough force to shatter nearby asteroids. Shockwaves spread across outer space while molten fragments scattered everywhere.
