Chapter 3293: Xukong Awakens!

Chapter 3293: Xukong Awakens!

’This presence...’

It was one he had not felt in years.

His eyes snapped open. "Senior Xukong..." he murmured softly.

Without hesitation, Lin Mu closed his eyes again and entered his spatial ring.

The familiar vastness of the ring’s inner space opened before him,a boundless dark realm filled with ambient spatial energy that shimmered like silver blades dancing across the skies. Far in the distance, on a patch of glowing ground, he sensed it, a dense gathering of spatial threads converging in one place.

He flew toward it swiftly.

As he drew closer, Lin Mu saw what appeared to be a massive silvery cocoon floating in the air. It pulsed faintly, each wave sending ripples of space across the ring. Hundreds of filaments of pure spatial energy were connected to it, each thread vanishing into the endless void like invisible roots drawing sustenance from the cosmos itself.

These threads were not still, they vibrated constantly, absorbing the surrounding energy and funneling it into the cocoon.

Within it, Lin Mu could faintly sense a familiar aura... old, powerful, and sharp like folded blades of reality itself.

"Senior Xukong..." Lin Mu whispered, stepping closer.

The air trembled around the cocoon. Even in its silence, he could feel the magnitude of the being sleeping inside. The pure pressure of spatial energy here was staggering, it distorted the space around him, creating waves that made the distance between each step feel uncertain.

He steadied himself and reached out with his immortal sense. The connection that had once been silent for so long now pulsed faintly, each wave carrying Xukong’s unique presence.

It was growing stronger.

Minute by minute, Lin Mu could feel it. The spatial threads grew brighter, and the hum in the air intensified.

Then came the sound... a faint crack, like glass breaking under immense pressure.

Lin Mu’s eyes widened as a fracture appeared on the cocoon’s surface, thin and radiant. It spread outward in a web of light, accompanied by another, and another.

CRACK.

The threads trembled violently, and spatial energy surged around him like a rising storm. Lin Mu’s robes fluttered in the windless air as the very space inside the ring warped.

The cocoon continued to shatter, pieces of silvery energy peeling away and dissolving into motes of light.

From within, a deeper, older voice resonated through the void.

"...It has been a long time, Lin Mu."

Lin Mu’s heart leaped. His hands clenched in anticipation.

As the last fragments of the cocoon dissolved, a figure emerged, majestic and ancient. The great Void Weaver Spider, Xukong, unfurled from the radiant shell, his body emanating waves of power that made the entire space tremble. His eight limbs gleamed like silver spears, and his ten golden yellow eyes glowed faintly with galaxies swirling within them.

Lin Mu bowed deeply. "Senior Xukong! You’ve awakened."

The spider’s gaze softened with faint amusement. "Indeed. And from what I sense... much has happened in my absence."

Lin Mu smiled slightly, relief and joy mixing within him. "You could say that. There’s a lot to tell you, Senior."

Xukong’s mandibles curved upward in something akin to a smile. "Then let us speak, disciple of mine, we have all the time in the world.."

And within the timeless expanse of the ring, teacher and student reunited, their voices mingling with the hum of endless space.

Xukong’s awakening was something Lin Mu had waited for longer than he wished for.

It had been more than a decade since Xukong had taught him the Knot of the Weaver and then entered a deep seclusion from which he had never stirred.

For years, Lin Mu carried on alone, advancing through trials, breakthroughs, wars, and miracles. At times, he wondered if Xukong would ever awaken again. At other times, he wondered if the spatial master even lived within the ring anymore as his presence grew faint.

But now the time had finally come, and the master and disciple could speak once more.

Although Xukong had skimmed through Lin Mu’s memories through their shared connection, he still preferred to hear the details directly from Lin Mu. There was a difference between observing someone’s memories and listening to their voice tell the story, rise and fall, emotion woven into each word.

And Lin Mu had much to share.

He told Xukong how he had successfully sealed the Well of Gravity. He described how he had used his newly awakened Gravity Dao to reshape his body, refining it beyond what anyone could have expected.

His physique had evolved from the True Gold Body to the Burdenless Dominator Physique, created by combining the Immortal Strengthening Scripture with the True Gold Body Forging Arts.

Hearing this, Xukong became visibly intrigued. His many golden eyes flickered, and he circled Lin Mu carefully with the discerning gaze of a craftsman examining a masterpiece.

"This Burdenless Dominator Physique you have created is certainly unique," Xukong said. "I can say with full confidence that I have never witnessed anything like it. Not in my entire life, not among humans, not among beasts, and not among immortals."

Lin Mu blinked, trying not to appear overly pleased.

And yet he could not hide the hopeful glimmer in his eyes.

Xukong continued, "Not only is it unique, I can also say that it sits among the top Immortal Physiques. It has already crossed into the threshold of a Transcendent Physique."

"Truly, Senior?" Lin Mu said.

He had suspected something like this after extensive testing, but Xukong’s confirmation felt like a great stone being lifted from his heart.

"Indeed," Xukong said. "And I can tell it is not your limit."

Lin Mu’s shock was immediate and sincere.

"It isn’t?"

"No," Xukong said, his voice certain. "The Mortal Strengthening Scripture evolving into the Immortal Strengthening Scripture showed me that the technique possessed deep potential.

But now I see that it was never meant to be a single method. It was meant to be the foundation upon which many other techniques could be built. How far you can take it depends entirely on you."
