Chapter 2719: Impervious to Poisons

Chapter 2719: Impervious to Poisons

Zu An was startled. The black-robed old woman had only become terribly disfigured because she dabbled with poisons. A poison released by a dying poison specialist was bound to be extremely potent. Few aboard the spaceship would survive it.

He was about to shout out a reminder when flames suddenly enveloped the old woman, vaporizing the black fog while incinerating her body to ashes.

Fire Knight sneered, “I knew you specialized in poison. Did you think I wouldn’t be on guard against this move?”

Fire was the counter of most poisons, bacterias, and viruses; not to mention his was no ordinary fire.

“All hail our boss!” The fatty, the octopus lady, and the birdman cheered.

Employee 9527 finally understood how these monsters had slipped onto the spaceship. They had a partner onboard! He had treated Fire Knight as a VIP, but the latter trampled over his goodwill in such a manner. That made him incredibly angry. “Fire Knight, do you know the consequences of raiding a Universal Conglomerate spaceship? There will be no place for you in the Myriad Worlds!”

Those words were true. The Universal Conglomerate would obliterate Fire Knight even if he was ten times stronger than he currently was.

Fire Knight burst into laughter. “We Annihilation worshipers are always ready to return to our master’s embrace. Our accomplishments will be worthwhile even if it means we’ll eventually die under the Universal Conglomerate’s vengeance. I shall offer all living beings on this spaceship to our master, so he’ll know how sincere our faith is!”

Zu An’s heart sank. Such fellows are the most troublesome of all. They're so stuck in their beliefs that they don’t consider the pros and cons of their actions.

Firework laughed. “You speak as if you’re a devout believer, but you just covet Zu An’s Wonderpoint World and our invitation letters to Dreamland.”

The others widened their eyes in realization. It belatedly struck them that Fire Knight’s companions didn’t have invitation letters, but if they robbed the spaceship’s passengers, the four of them could head to Dreamland together.

After all, there was no name on Dreamland’s invitation letters.

Fire Knight glared at Firework with flames blazing in his eyes. “You damned lass! You’re the only one I struggle to see through on this spaceship. What’s your background?”

Firework weaved through the octopus lady’s tentacles like a butterfly. “What background could I have? I am merely the most adorable and beautiful lady in the universe.”

The crowd was speechless.

“Hmph! Conceal your identity all you like; it makes no difference to me!” Fire Knight harrumphed.

Fire blazed forth from his wheelchair’s handrest, converging into spears that shot toward Firework.

Firework was able to cope with the octopus lady’s attacks with ease, but Fire Knight’s interference put her in a dangerous position. The fire spears were precisely timed and aimed to seal off her escape. On top of that, she seemed to be fearful of the fire, causing her movement to slow. It seemed to be only a matter of time before she succumbed to the enemies’ onslaught.

A lightsaber suddenly appeared from the side and deflected some of the fire spears. Employee 9527 knocked back the fatty and swung his saber down on Fire Knight. At the same time, he conjured dozens more lightsabers that simultaneously assaulted Fire Knight.

Fire Knight continued to relax in his wheelchair as he spread a fan of fire with a casual wave of his hand. With a single strike, he melted over half of Employee 9527’s lightsabers.

“How’s that possible?” Employee 9527 was startled. He couldn’t believe what was happening.

Zu An frowned as well. Ranking in the top 10,000 of the Universal Conglomerate, Employee 9527 was no weakling. His assessment of Employee 9527 was that the former was no weaker than Fire Knight. It was baffling how one-sided the fight had turned out.

Fire Knight unleashed another wave of fire to knock down the remaining lightsabers. Even the one Employee 9527 held in his hand melted.

Employee 9527 collapsed to the floor, spewing a large mouthful of blood. He glared at Fire Knight with indignant eyes. “You despicable wretch!”

Fire Knight scoffed, “Don’t you think we’d have made thorough preparations before making a move against the Universal Conglomerate? Though I didn’t expect your antidote serum to be so strong as to delay my second sister’s poison for so long.”

The octopus lady snickered. “Do you think I’m so weak as to let you slice so many of my tentacles for free?”

It finally dawned upon Employee 9527 that the octopus lady had intentionally allowed him to hurt her because her poison needed to be catalyzed by her blood. Before he knew it, he had already fallen to her poison.

His complexion turned awful. She thrashed around the battlefield earlier, waving her tentacles everywhere. If I was inflicted with her poison, doesn’t it mean that...

Before he could finish that thought, he heard weapons falling to the ground. The Universal Conglomerate’s staff members collapsed one after another, moaning in pain. The poison had sapped their stamina, rendering them incapable of fighting.

Firework was also stunned. “Crap.” She fell from the sky before she could react.

“You wretch! Not that smug anymore now that the tables have turned, huh? I’ll make you suffer a fate worse than death!” The octopus lady stared at Firework’s beautiful face with jealous eyes as her tentacles shot for the latter. She was going to show Firework the true prowess of her tentacles.

There was suddenly a flash of black light. The birdman flitted over and swiped Firework away. “Big sister, we agreed that this beauty is mine. I can’t let you ruin her before I have a taste.”

But his expression quickly darkened as he realized there was no one in his arms. Firework had been pulled away by a weird suction force coming from Zu An!

Zu An used the Taotie’s Heaven-Devouring Sutra to pull Firework into his arms, saving her from those two monsters’ demonic claws.

Firework’s face briefly turned red, but she quickly snapped out of it and asked, “Why aren’t you affected by the poison?”

Even experts of her and Employee 9527’s caliber had fallen for the poison, let alone others on the spaceship. It was baffling how this fellow was unfazed.

Zu An was perplexed as well. His unique constitution and the Primordial Origin Sutra made him impervious to poison, but he hadn’t expected this trait to work against the poisons from the experts of the Myriad Worlds, too. The Primordial Origin Sutra is stronger than I thought.

The others on the spaceship were also astounded.

“Boss, that fellow is unfazed by my poison!” the octopus lady exclaimed.

“He has an instantaneous movement ability that allows him to dodge Number Three’s attacks,” the fatty said while waving his scissors.

“He has a skill that allows him to absorb energy and generate a powerful suction force. You must tread carefully around him,” the birdman added.

The trio were slowly forming an encirclement around Zu An. Fire Knight stared at Zu An before he remarked, “I’ve underestimated you, brat.”
