Chapter 4179: Do Not Fear, Young One I
Noah gazed at the darkening space above Concordia, his eyes pulsing with delight at the systematic harvest Ra’Zan was conducting.
Each transformation, each addition to the Legion, represented exponential growth in a game where exponential was the minimum acceptable rate of advancement.
This place, this moment of chaos and emergence, was a grand weaving of possibility!
Where others saw catastrophe, he saw opportunity wrapped in violence.
Prompts materialized before his vision, documenting the accumulating benefits:
Harvest Festival of Death Progress:
Dead Existences joined ranks: 2
Existential weavings siphoned to Deathly Cache: 28% of original essences
Cache accumulation rate: Increasing
Current participants: (You, Ra’Zan, Primordial Stone Ape, Ozymandias...)
His gaze rose to track what the prompts described.
Far above, barely visible through the tears and chaos, an illusory chest floated...the Deathly Cache of Perpetual Harvest.
It pulsed with obsidian-gold light, each pulse seeming to whisper that he simply needed to outperform, to harvest more, and the rewards would scale beyond current imagination.
Power coursed through his body with each successful hunt Ra’Zan completed. Every decimated Dead Existence sent trillions of complexity flowing...half to him, half to Ozymandias, though it was all designated under The Early Creature, Osmont.
The distribution was automatic, efficient, perfect.
His complexity had already grown by factors that would have taken others eons to achieve!
Things were proceeding smoothly, perhaps too smoothly, which should have been his first warning.
But as someone had said recently, someone whose name carried weight...
"Existence is unfair..."
Existence was unfair. Always!
The words had barely formed in his thoughts when...
BOOM!
Space fractured.
No.
Space surrendered! The sound was wrong, carrying frequencies that predated the invention of sound, that made reality question whether it wanted to continue existing in proximity to whatever had just arrived!
Noah’s heart hammered once...a single beat that his enhanced perception stretched into eternity.
His eyes flashed with solemnity as understanding crystallized: something beyond current parameters had arrived! His hands moved with speed that transcended thought, wrapping around Sigrid with protective certainty.
Ozymandias appeared behind him instantaneously, not traveling through space but simply editing his location!
Ra’Zan and his Legion stepped through death itself, ignoring concepts like distance or obstacles to materialize in defensive positions around their Master.
Then impact came!
BOOM!
They didn’t see what caused it...that was perhaps the most terrifying part.
It ignored speed because it had already arrived before departing. It ignored distance because it existed in many places simultaneously!
All Noah perceived was a column of obsidian light shooting down from a crack that shouldn’t have existed, carrying within it the weight of endings that had been waiting too long to be gentle.
Then came decimation.
The word was insufficient.
Languages hadn’t evolved terms for what happened when existence itself was used as a weapon against those existing within it!
Noah felt his body subjected to battering that came from all directions and none, impacts that existed in past, present, and future simultaneously.
WARNING: Affected by Overpowering Haki
Source complexity of Haki: >10 Quadrillion
All abilities and power reduced by 50%
Decimation attempt on surrounding environment detected: 1 Quadrillion complexity deployed against your existence
Mitigation occurring:
- 40% absorbed by Dead Existential Inevitabilities’ hunger
- 15% dispersed by Order’s eruption
- 20% negated by your own Complexity/Purity
- 25% unmitigated - BRACE FOR IMPACT
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
The battering continued, each wave trying to convince his atoms they had never been properly assembled.
His bones creaked with pressure that could compress Wheels into singularities! Beside him, Sigrid’s Order authority blazed in desperate defense, trying to maintain structure against pure decimation!
More prompts, each one worse than the last.
Damage Assessment: Critical but Survivable
Neanderthal Jiangshi has collapsed existence to preserve Master
Return time: 12 hours
Abyssal Lich-Kraken has sacrificed totality under Ra’Zan’s command
Return time: 10 hours
Two members of his newly raised Legion- gone. Not destroyed, but forced to cease existing temporarily just to ensure his survival!
Finally, after what felt like epochs but had been mere seconds, the assault ended.
The thick obsidian dust that had replaced air began to clear, revealing devastation that redefined the term.
Half of Ra’Zan’s body simply wasn’t there anymore...not destroyed but negated, his bones ending in smooth surfaces as if reality had been edited.
The Primordial Stone Ape’s entire left shoulder had been decimated, the missing mass creating an asymmetry that shouldn’t have allowed it to remain standing.
Ozymandias had transformed into something that barely maintained coherent form...a pulsing mass of tentacles that writhed with desperate hunger, trying to devour enough ambient energy to maintain existence.
Survival of Unsurvivable Impact Confirmed
Tremendous effort recognized by Principle of Perpetual Harvest
Complexity gained: +1 Trillion
Purity gained: +1 Trillion
The prompt was a boon, but it felt like being handed a bandage after being shot with a cannon. Because as the dust settled further, the true scope of devastation became clear!
Aeternitas Concordia...that golden jewel of commerce and cooperation, was rubble.
The elaborate towers that had stood for eons had been reduced to scattered blocks, their golden surfaces tarnished with shadows of death that moved independently of light.
Bridges that had connected impossible architectures now dangled like broken fingers. The grand marketplace where he had been trading mere minutes ago was a crater that went deeper than geography should allow.
But worse than the structural damage were the casualties.
Every Fold Dweller and Living Existence that had been near Noah was now a twitching skeleton wrapped in flesh that hadn’t gotten the message it was supposed to be dead.
Every single one.
Their bodies radiated malformed auras of death, caught between states in ways that made The Dead look healthy by comparison!
They weren’t alive, but they weren’t properly dead either...trapped in a liminal space that existence hadn’t created categories for.
Following the weavings of decimation like a trail of breadcrumbs made from catastrophe, Noah and Sigrid’s gazes found the epicenter.
An Early Creature stood there.
Oh!
An Early Creature radiating Trillion of Complexity stood in the midst of utter devastation as her arrival alone killed everything!
