Chapter 4169: Heavy Weight! IV
A glorious leaf appeared in Schrodinger’s hands!
He pulled it out while looking directly at Noah, clearly watching for any reaction, any sign of recognition or fear.
Noah continued to gaze at Schrodinger with perfect calm, as if the being had pulled out nothing more interesting than a napkin.
The lack of reaction caused Schrodinger’s eyes to shine with even grander waves of amazement.
He nodded appreciatively and proceeded to add the leaf to his teacup with the casual air of someone adding sugar.
Noah showed no external reaction, but he felt Khor tense beside him. Her mental voice reached him on a frequency only he could perceive:
’Be careful, Outsider. This Schrodinger is not simple.’
Noah simply nodded as he picked up his teacup, analyzing its contents with his enhanced perception. Prompts materialized before his vision.
Analyzing: Tea of Contemplative Unbinding
Origin: Verdant Eternia Tribe of Early Creatures
Source: Leaves from the Transcendent Cogitation Tree
Effect: Grants unique mental state free of restrictions and limitations
Benefit: Consciousness enters optimal state for cultivating Everythings
Duration: Variable based on drinker’s complexity
Warning: Mental barriers temporarily lowered
Note: Traditionally used before attempting breakthrough comprehension
Ho?
The Verdant Eternia Tribe? Something stemming from them in the hands of Schrodinger?!
How?
"..."
Questions without answers arose!
Noah read these details with calm assessment before taking a sip. The liquid was simultaneously hot and cold, bitter and sweet, existing in multiple states until observed by drinking it.
"What exactly did someone like you have to discuss with me?" he asked, his tone suggesting this was merely polite conversation rather than potentially epoch-defining interaction.
Schrodinger leaned back, despite floating and having nothing to lean against, and his expression grew thoughtful in a way that might have been genuine.
"Existence has many things to ponder and discuss, but the most important one is how... nobody seems to know what is really coming." He paused, swirling his tea in a cup that showed different contents from every angle.
"Many haven’t even bothered to wonder that maybe THE Creature and THE Living Existences are not missing at all, just purposefully isolated for a reason."
He took a sip, the leaf in his tea dissolving without trace.
"None of them know just how close they are to becoming The Dead. None seem to be paying attention to the sheer gravity of existence as..." He looked directly at Noah. "Do you know?"
Did he know?
Noah considered the question, the tea’s effect making his thoughts flow in directions they normally wouldn’t explore. After a moment, he responded with measured certainty.
"I know many things. And I always prepare for what is potentially coming. As for the Living and the Dead, they are simply two sides of the same coin. I will move how I need to in order to ensure my safety and the safety of those under me."
He paused, meeting Schrodinger’s gaze directly.
"But you seem to have come here to share something that you know specifically. So what might that be?"
Schrodinger’s smile widened with what appeared to be genuine pleasure.
"Man, you really are straightforward, just like them."
The reference to unnamed others hung in the air like smoke from a fire that hadn’t been lit yet.
"Yes," Schrodinger continued. "The Concordat here has proven useful. At this time, all Living Existences are seemingly aligned together and will be getting ready to fight against The Dead as The Veil continues to thin. The Wandering Territories with the Fold Dwellers is a whole different ordeal, but..."
He leaned forward conspiratorially.
"I have heard that the Transcendent Origin Folds are about to experience the most havoc. That The Dead might appear there en masse. Living Origins will be hit hard. It would be nice if there were more forces to protect them."
Noah’s eyes sharpened at these words, his mind racing through implications and possibilities. The chess match between them intensified, each word carrying multiple meanings, each pause suggesting volumes.
"You heard that this would happen," Noah said, his tone making it clear this wasn’t a question, "or were you the one to make it happen?"
Schrodinger raised his shoulders in an innocent shrug that fooled absolutely no one. "How could I have possibly made such a thing happen? All I am is a beggar moving across existence, trying to do all that I can to save as many as I can."
Noah took another sip of tea, the liquid helping him see patterns in Schrkdinger’s words.
"And what exactly are you trying to save all those you can from? Because it cannot possibly just be The Dead."
Schrodinger’s eyes flashed with delight again, the expression of someone whose expectations had been exceeded.
"Once more, you have gotten to the heart of it." He nodded with something approaching respect. "Yes, The Dead are only part of the equation. In wondering what else is out there, you are asking the right questions. But I’m afraid I do not have the answers right now."
He raised his hand as the Tree of Unity pulsed with brilliant light, and in the distant space above, Elysia’s voice began echoing once more.
"With the Living Marks of Unity, Living Existences can reinforce each other across their Folds. The Wandering Territories would also like to have more defenders. Who here will make the trip with us?"
Noah kept his gaze locked on Schrodinger’s calm visage as the paradox waved his hand, causing the table and tea set to dissolve back into possibility.
"So it seems... I must bring our discussion and pondering of existence to a close," Schrödinger said with what might have been genuine regret. "I wish we had more time, but..."
Time.
It was relative!
Noah understood this with clarity that transcended the tea’s effects. There were countless weavings of existence unfolding...Fold Dwellers, Early Creatures, Living Existences, and mysteries that even paradox couldn’t fully contain.
He had to ensure that when dealing with all these beings, he expected unfairness, challenges, and possibly failures.
But through it all, the end result had to be his existence bathing in the light of quintessence!
The end result had to be success, regardless of how many failures would occur before that success.
For the weight he carried was heavy, and he needed to gain the strength to carry it effortlessly while gazing even further ahead into futures that hadn’t yet decided whether to exist!
