Death… And Me

Chapter 4330: Much Easier

Chapter 4330: Much Easier

One would naturally think the simplest plan would be to use the airplane itself as bait. The disguised Flying Serpent would approach the Raven, provoke an attack, and the moment the Raven came out to attack, Arcis and Tobao would burst out and ambush it.

Unfortunately, things were not nearly that simple.

The biggest issue was, without question, the airplane itself.

They had only managed to infiltrate this deeply into the Godly Creature territory because of the airplane’s disguise ability. If the Raven attacked the airplane directly and Arcis and Tobao failed to protect it in time, the prototype could very easily be destroyed on the spot.

And if that happened, they would immediately lose their only reliable method of returning to the cultivators’ side.

Naturally, Tobao and Arcis were Law Gods. They could probably forcefully escape through their own strength if necessary. But the twins’ group was another matter entirely.

Even if the twins’ group could theoretically disguise themselves as Godly Creatures individually, would they truly manage to cross such an enormous battlefield and safely return to the defensive lines?

Most importantly, Tobao and Arcis did not even know the twins’ group possessed that ability in the first place. And naturally, the twins’ group had absolutely no intention of revealing such a secret.

That was precisely why Rean deliberately avoided flying directly toward the Raven at first.

Instead, he maintained a reasonable distance, making it appear as though the Flying Serpent was merely passing through the area casually. That way, if the Raven suddenly attacked the airplane anyway, Arcis and Tobao would still have enough time to emerge and intercept it while protecting the prototype.

There was also another important reason behind that careful approach.

It allowed the group to properly observe the Raven using only their naked eyes.

As long as its Third Eye remained closed, the Raven did not appear as that strange concentration of black mist and distorted darkness seen on the battlefield. Instead, it displayed its true physical appearance.

Naturally, the group also used that opportunity to inspect its injuries carefully and evaluate its current condition.

At the same time, nobody dared use Celestial Senses.

Doing so would almost certainly alert the Raven immediately.

Finally, there was the reason why Roan and Kentucky personally revealed themselves afterward to draw the Raven’s attention.

The first objective was obvious.

The moment cultivators appeared nearby, the Raven would instinctively prioritize them over the seemingly insignificant Flying Serpent. That would allow the disguised airplane to move much closer without attracting suspicion.

However, under normal circumstances, such a plan would basically amount to suicide.

Kentucky and Roan revealing themselves openly in the middle of the Godly Creature territory should have instantly attracted the attention of every nearby Godly Creature... If there had been any nearby, that is.

The problem for the Raven was that its own presence prevented that.

Because the Raven was injured, the Godly Pressure leaking from its body felt especially violent and hostile. As mentioned many times before, ordinary Godly Creatures avoided approaching the area where the Raven rested during recovery.

The relatively big empty area surrounding the cliff was more than enough for Roan and Kentucky to safely emerge from the airplane without immediately being swarmed.

Well...

Roan emerged willingly.

Kentucky complained at least a thousand times before finally agreeing to follow him outside.

And so, the plan unfolded exactly as expected.

Roan and Kentucky successfully captured the Raven’s attention.

The moment the Raven opened its Third Eye, Arcis and Tobao had already confirmed the severity and exact location of the injury on its chest while Rean previously flew nearby.

Then, by the time the Raven finally remembered the existence of the Flying Serpent...

It was already too late.

*Cra, cra, cra, cra, cra...*

*KABRUUUUMMMM!!!*

Arcis and Tobao attacked simultaneously!

Neither of the two Law Gods held back in the slightest.

Better yet, because the airplane completely concealed their presence during the approach, both of them had ample time to continuously build up energy for those specific attacks before revealing themselves.

The results were devastating.

*CAWWGggglwlwlllllwww...!*

The Raven, which was never particularly famous for its defensive power to begin with, was caught completely off guard. On top of that, Arcis and Tobao aimed directly at the wound already opened on its chest.

The destructive powers of Ice Zero and Heaven’s Fall exploded through the injury while the Celestial Laws of Ice and Lightning invaded the Raven’s body violently.

Their attacks pierced all the way toward its heart!

Blood exploded everywhere.

Some instantly froze into crimson ice under Arcis’s laws.

Other portions burned and crackled beneath Tobao’s lightning.

The Raven vomited shattered organs and chunks of flesh while its horrifying cry mixed together with choking sounds from the blood flooding its insides.

Naturally, the Raven immediately concentrated all its remaining strength into its Third Eye.

Golden light erupted violently as it attempted to trigger a soul backlash against Arcis and Tobao while desperately flapping its wings to escape.

Unfortunately for it...

Neither Arcis nor Tobao relied on Celestial Senses at that moment.

They already knew exactly where the Raven was.

Even with the Third Eye fully active, they could still visually track its movements perfectly.

And just as Roan predicted earlier, the effects of the Third Eye had weakened enormously. Because there were very few beings nearby perceiving the Raven’s existence, the power of its innate ability had dropped drastically.

Arcis and Tobao immediately pressed their advantage without hesitation.

’Icicles of the Pole!’

’Extreme Thunder!’

*Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!*

*Bzzzzzz! KABRUMBRUMBRUMMMM...!*

The Raven failed to even gain altitude properly.

Instead, its enormous body immediately lost control and crashed downward while Arcis and Tobao continued pursuing it mercilessly from above.

Both Law Gods were rapidly exhausting their energy reserves as well. Sustained flight alone already consumed tremendous amounts of power, let alone continuously unleashing full-strength attacks.

Still, neither slowed down.

Meanwhile, the Raven’s Third Eye seemed to lose more and more of its effectiveness entirely.

Seeing that, Arcis and Tobao became even more ruthless.

Again and again, they targeted the massive wound on its chest while all three figures plummeted rapidly toward the ground below.

Faster.

Faster.

Faster!

Finally...

*BAAAANG!!!*

The Raven crashed violently into the earth.

A massive shockwave spread outward as rocks shattered and dust exploded in every direction.

Arcis and Tobao barely managed to stop themselves only a few meters above the impact site, both breathing heavily after pouring nearly all their strength into the short battle.

Yet despite their exhaustion, neither of them dared lower their guard. Their eyes remained locked firmly onto the Raven. This Godly Horror had terrorized the Besgol Region for years. Whenever situations turned dangerous, it was notoriously good at escaping.

That was precisely why killing it had always been considered nearly impossible.

Then suddenly, a voice came from nearby.

"It’s over," Rean said calmly. "It’s dead."

*Zhuuuuuu...*

The disguised airplane slowly descended nearby while Rean observed the Raven’s corpse carefully. As someone capable of sensing life force directly, he could easily tell the creature had completely died.

A few seconds later...

*Flap! Flap! Flap!*

Kentucky and Roan also arrived.

Looking at the dead Raven, Kentucky could not help but comment, "It probably never experienced anything remotely similar to what just happened."

From inside the airplane, however, Celis suddenly spoke urgently.

"It is dead, and its Godly Pressure will begin dissipating soon. Once that happens, the nearby Godly Creatures will realize something is wrong." His tone became serious. "And when they do, they will immediately come searching for its Godly Crystal. We need to leave now."

Tobao and Arcis both nodded immediately.

At the moment, the surrounding territory remained empty because the Raven’s lingering pressure still frightened nearby creatures away.

However, that situation would definitely not last long.

Fortunately, Tobao did not seem worried at all.

"It is fine," he said calmly. "I possess a Spatial Ring large enough to store its entire body."

Such enormous Spatial Rings were unbelievably rare within the Besgol Region. There were likely no more than two or three in existence altogether. And Tobao happened to own one of them.

Naturally, Rean was not about to waste this opportunity. "Senior," he immediately spoke up, "can our group have the Raven’s Third Eye?"

Tobao paused slightly after hearing that request.

Instinctively, he wanted to refuse.

The Raven’s Third Eye was unquestionably one of the most valuable parts of the entire corpse, second only to the Godly Crystal itself.

However...

The moment Tobao recalled the disguise array Rean had created, the very invention that made this entire operation possible... His thoughts immediately changed.

Tobao glanced toward Arcis, and Arcis clearly understood the same thing. The two exchanged a brief look before nodding silently at one another. Finally, Tobao agreed.

"Alright," he said. "We will separate the Third Eye for your group."

The next instant, Tobao placed his hand on the Raven’s corpse.

Instantly, the gigantic body disappeared into his Spatial Ring.

Naturally, that alone already proved the Raven was truly dead, since Tobao’s Spatial Ring could not contain living beings.

"Let’s leave immediately," Tobao ordered.

Soon afterward, everyone boarded the airplane once more.

At long last, they could finally return safely to the cultivators’ territory.

And with the death of the Three-Eyed Raven...

The defense of the Besgol Region had just become vastly easier.
