Chapter 3844: Joining The Armies
Rean’s... or Curuto’s sudden appearance in that area obviously caught the attention of other nearby spaceships, which quickly sent experts to check what he was doing there.
"Sorry, friends," Rean spoke with a helpless expression. "My battalion was overwhelmed by the Umbras back there, and all that was left was for us to run away."
"Come with me," one of the experts said, seeing Rean’s Middle Stage Space-Time Realm cultivation. "We will verify your ID first."
Rean had no complaints, and he was brought to one of the Spaceships nearby, quite a small one compared to the rest. Nonetheless, the database there had the necessary information, and they were able to quickly confirm Rean’s Werdlem Energy Signature.
"Okay, your name is Curuto, right? Was your area overrun by the Umbras?" The guy asked.
"Not exactly," Rean shook his head. "We are still in control of our area, but we were separated after my battalion lost. The only way for me to go back to my spaceship then was to go through all those Umbras, which would obviously be suicide. Without another choice, I could only aim for the central area. I had to fight quite a few Umbras on the way, too."
"That’s okay," the man nodded. "Since the Werdlem Signal is blocked in this Universe, it is very hard to communicate. We are currently only accepting orders from outside with our receivers. Anyway, you seem to be fine. I’m sorry, but we don’t have the time to help you return to your Spaceship. Instead, I will have you help us in the sector FG8813T, not too far from here. We are not from the same Universe, but I will make sure your achievements will be recorded and passed forward when everything is over."
Rean smiled, finding it very convenient. "No problem. As long as I get my merit points, I don’t really care which battlefront I will fight. Just make sure you don’t send me to a suicide mission, of course. Even better, do you have anything near the central area where the main spaceship armies are fighting? With my cultivation, I would be of a lot more use there."
"Let me check..." The man quickly looked through the information they had there, nodding in the end. "We do. In that case, go to the sector LK1213P. However, the experts fighting there are quite close to the front, and the risks are higher. Of course, as you can imagine, so are the payments."
"I know how to take care of myself. Hell, I even survived several days in the void while I travelled here. Show me where I need to go, friend."
And so, Rean quickly left the spaceship. Little did anyone know that Curuto was actually commanding a spaceship somewhere else.
For a while, Rean fought various umbras, most of them mindless ones. Not only that, but he also caught the attention of some of the battalion leaders with his efficiency.
Rean did not try to approach the main spaceship. Instead, he began to make a few friends, especially when he saved some experts here and there.
*Boom!*
An explosion of Fire Element spread everywhere, tens of Mindless Umbras dying in an instant. Behind that attack was Rean, who had just cleared the area he was tasked with.
"Curuto!" Suddenly, another cultivator arrived, this one with a cultivation much lower than his own. "Senior Dicistrey is asking you to go see him urgently."
Rean faintly smiled, but didn’t let the guy see it. "Urgently? Understood. Tell someone to take care of this area so Umbras won’t occupy it again."
And so, Rean left, passing by the various battalions and arriving at the far back. The sector LK1213P was commanded by Dicistrey, a Divinity Realm Middle Stage Expert. He did receive the report of Rean joining his battalion as a last-minute call, but he didn’t care about it at first. He had plenty of Space-Time Realm Experts under his orders, after all. Yet, the more Rean showed abilities, the more Dicistrey paid attention to him.
Now, he called Rean back as there was another thing for him to do. Not only Rean, actually. There were three other Space-Time Realm experts present. "Curuto, how are your Divine Energy reserves?"
Rean patted his chest. "I’m still good to go, senior. If there is a payment to be received, I’ll be there."
Dicistrey didn’t care about payments, only that Rean was capable. He wasn’t the one paying anyway. "Good. I want you, Clidea, Luppoi, and Rammon to go to the sector UU613G."
Rean was basically the only one in that quartet who wasn’t originally from that battalion, but it didn’t seem like anyone minded.
"Once the four of you get there, you will join Senior Tiramisu’s forces," Dicistrey concluded. "This is a good chance to gain merit points and make an impression, so make haste."
Rean and the others quickly accepted the orders and left. Rean had already checked where that sector was located. It was even further into the central area of that battle, and above all, closer to the giant spaceship where the Werdlem Empire’s commander was probably located.
Rean’s group got to sector UU613G around three hours later, having to fight quite a few scattered Umbras on the way. Tiramisu was a Peak Stage Divinity Realm expert, and he was an expert from the main spaceship. In fact, most of the experts in his battalion were.
Rean’s group only joined to make up for a few losses that Tiramisu’s battalion suffered during their previous attack. They weren’t the only ones. Rean and the others quickly noticed a few more experts, mostly in the Space-Time Realm, joining them from other battalions as well.
Tiramisu checked them all, and when the last group arrived, he quickly spoke to everyone. "Alright, I don’t really think we needed the idiots from other Universes to join my battalion, but the higher-ups back there are annoyed about it. So, I only have one request to the bunch of you: do not get in our way. Otherwise, I’ll kill you myself to prevent more problems. You have yourselves warned."
Then, he flew to the front, giving the order. "Our next objective is to attack the Level Two Umbras in the sector ahead. There might be a Level Three Umbra, so be careful. Alright, let’s go."
Around three hours later, Tiramisu returned to the main spaceship with half of his battalion wiped out. They did meet a Level Three Umbra, and not only one, but two!
As for Curuto... he was lost in the mess.
