Death… And Me

Chapter 3845: Here Goes Nothing...

Chapter 3845: Here Goes Nothing...

"Fuck!"

Tiramisu punched the ground, blood still coming out of his injuries.

"What the hell was that? Two Level Three Umbras, two!" Tiramisu was livid. How could two Level Three Umbras go unnoticed like that? Tiramisu looked at his battalion, half of them gone.

They entered the main spaceship as Tiramisu’s curses echoed everywhere. Truth be told, Tiramisu was supposed to have died. The only reason he didn’t was that a Semi-Celestial was nearby and noticed those Umbras. He covered for Tiramisu’s battalion, who were finally able to retreat.

The healing experts quickly arrived in that area of the spaceship, taking in several soldiers who were in terrible condition. Tiramisu knew quite a few of them, which made him even more enraged. However, even if he wanted, his battalion was in no shape to fly out to fight anytime soon, so he had to stay put. Perhaps his battalion would actually be dismantled, and he would be sent somewhere else.

No one noticed, but one of the experts being taken away for treatment had a faint smile on his face. Sure enough, that was Rean!

---

Going back twenty or so minutes, Rean was actually the first one to notice the appearance of the Level Three Umbras. He had fought them before, after all. So, he quickly positioned himself in the area that would suffer the most casualties, in his opinion.

Several Level Two Umbras swarmed the battalion, commanded by the Level Three ones. If you counted the Level One and the Mindless Umbras, the number difference was just ridiculous.

Rean easily fought his way while pretending to be barely holding on. His Divine Sense was focused on the experts with equal cultivation to his own, and when he noticed one of them being severely injured, he made his move without being seen. No one would pay attention anyway, as survival was the only thing on everyone’s minds.

Yemmel was the name of the guy. The joint attack of five Umbras almost killed him, and just as his body was about to be taken, Rean appeared and quickly wiped out those Umbras. Then, Rean sent Yemmel inside the Dimensional Realm before using his Light and Divine Sense Bending skill to hide for a few minutes.

Yemmel was knocked out unconscious straight away, and with his body actually inside the Dimensional Realm, it was even easier and faster to copy his Werdlem Energy Signature to use his ID. Roan quickly read the most recent memories of the guy while Rean changed his body to look just like Yemmel. Finally, Rean received Yemmel’s memories through Roan, and he reappeared, joining his defeated battalion that made their way back to the main spaceship.

Now, as Tiramisu raged with the loss, Rean was brought away to be treated.

’Alright, we are inside the main spaceship. However, this thing is absolutely gigantic,’ Rean commented. ’It makes the Ruins of the Stars look like a small boat.’

Zangeshu’s eyes were shining in the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. ’Just how many beings can this thing carry? It must be one of the most advanced Great Void Spaceships available, no? I wonder if I could get a chance to work with this thing’s runes.’

Tanxan also felt amazed. He was the one who flew in the Ruins of the Stars, but this spaceship was on a completely different level. ’This spaceship sure must be able to carry a few tens of millions of experts, no doubt. Could this one actually be a Universe Conqueror that was modified? It must be powered by several Foundation Fragments at the very least.’

’Enough with that,’ Roan intervened. ’Tanxan, you know how these spaceships work. Help Rean make his way to the commanding center.’

Outside, Rean was put on a healing capsule while two experts worked on him. However, Rean didn’t let the capsule be closed, coughing up blood and speaking. "I’m... I’m fine. I look to be in bad shape, but most of my injuries are external. Just give me some healing pills, and I should be able to recover in time."

"Sir, that is not something we would reco-" the guys tried to convince Rean, but...

"I said I don’t need it!" Rean cut him off. "There are plenty of guys in my battalion who need this capsule more than I do. I will go back to my chamber."

Then, refusing the treatment, Rean walked out of the healing bay. It wasn’t a problem. After all, Yemmel was actually an expert from this spaceship, so the Werdlem ID that Rean was using worked just fine to walk around.

Rean quickly went to Yemmel’s chamber, and he healed himself there. Of course, he still made it look like he wasn’t in shape for combat, so no one would tell him to go out again too soon.

He followed the procedures, uploading his reports of the events that led to the loss of half of Tiramisu’s battalion before he was discharged for the day.

As a Middle Stage Space-Time Realm Expert, Yemmel’s position was also quite high, even in a Spaceship like this one. Thanks to that, his ID was enough for Rean to use the teleport formations of the ship and move to the central area.

However, there was a big difference between approaching the commanding center and actually getting inside. Rean’s presence actually caught the attention of a few eyes, as you wouldn’t expect someone like Rean to come to these parts of the spaceship.

"Can I help you, little friend?" Sure enough, it didn’t take long for someone to approach Rean. Security here was a lot tighter, and even if Rean’s ID was confirmed, he was still checked.

’There they are,’ Tanxan’s voice echoed in Rean’s mind with Sister Orb and Roan’s help. ’As I thought, a Spaceship of this size had to have a special force tasked with the security of the central area around the commanding center. Rean, this is the guy you want if you wish to enter the bridge of this spaceship.’

Rean narrowed his eyes. ’Him? I would understand if it were his boss, but a simple security personnel like this guy shouldn’t have such access, right?’

’What are you talking about?’ Tanxan asked back. ’This guy is the boss, idiot!’

’Eh?!’ Rean was taken aback. He couldn’t understand why the security boss would come to check on him himself. Shouldn’t he have sent his subordinates instead? Naturally, he initially thought Tanxan was wrong. But then, Rean noticed his cultivation. ’Late Stage Divinity Realm? That’s quite high... Is he really the boss?’

Tanxan snorted. ’You don’t really understand, do you? This kind of place would be strictly controlled. You only got here because you hold quite a high authority ID. Normally, nothing would ever happen here, so when someone reported that you were sneaking around, the boss himself came out to check. Believe me, the security boss of my spaceship back then was a close friend of mine, so he told me how things worked. Simply put, this guy doesn’t have anything better to do since no one would ever try anything in these parts.’

Rean sighed but nodded. It felt way too convenient. Regardless, for the boss himself to come out and check showed that at least they put a lot of importance on the security of this place. Well, the guy was also just bored... Anyway, it also played quite nicely in Rean’s hands. ’Since that’s the case, here goes nothing...’

Rean smiled, nodding. "Oh, sorry to bother you, senior. Could it be I did something wrong? I’ve never been to these parts of the ship before, so I’m sorry if I broke any rules."
