Chapter 3364: Soon To Appear
Yan Gang wanted to argue with Forgotten Ruins God's comment, but after thinking about it, he realized that she was right. Other insects, like the Thousand Shards, also had attacks that could not be avoided, as well as innumerable numbers. The new Firefly Menace did not offer much of an advantage for them.
Recently, Yan Gang’s Nest had been producing new insects, but none of them had been particularly remarkable. Because of this, Yan Gang had grown excited over anything that showed even a hint of promise.
Verdant King glanced at Forgotten Ruins God. "No one knows that these Firefly Menace are from a Nest."
Forgotten Ruins God raised an eyebrow as she looked at Verdant King.
Simultaneously, Blackless God and Wang Xiaoyu also looked at the Verdant Sage.
He was right. That was indeed the greatest advantage of the Firefly Menaces; no one knew that they had been spawned by a Nest. As long as the bugs were not attacked first, once there were enough to fill a universe, they would pose a terrible threat to all intelligent life.
True God’s voice rang out. "Store them and produce more of them. We will have these Firefly Menaces fill the parallel universes that serve the Heavens Sect."
Yan Gang respectfully responded, "Yes, my lord."
True God’s attention shifted to the distance. "They’re finally here."
Two figures had appeared in the distance. They were the round-faced old man and Bao Qi. The moment they had escaped from the battlefield at the Tianyuan Megaverse’s boundary, they had been hiding, unwilling to reveal themselves after watching Tian Ci’s execution in the Heavens Sect. They were also afraid of being hunted down.
Given the fact that they were Seraphs, both men felt humiliated.
It had taken two years, but they had finally managed to find True God.
Seraphs were incredibly powerful cultivators, and as the old man and Bao Qi approached, Skydog’s barks echoed out, while Forgotten Ruins God adopted an unusually serious expression.
Blackless God’s eyes flickered. He was familiar with the two Seraphs, as they had fought in the war against the Consciousness Megaverse. In the end, Blackless God had surrendered to the Spirit Nidus and then been sent to the Tianyuan Megaverse. For this reason, his feelings towards the Spirit Nidus were complicated.
"Yong Heng, we meet at last," the round-faced old man slowly stated after coming to a stop a short distance from True God.
Beside him, Bao Qi’s eyes swept over Forgotten Ruins God and the others. He briefly stopped at Blackless God before looking back at True God.
True God's body was still covered with the Six Paths of Reincarnation Realm. While many years had passed, the golden light had not dimmed at all.
"I can’t help you," True God stated.
The old man stared at True God. "Does the Six Paths of Reincarnation Realm that the Great Sovereign placed on you still restrict you?"
After several years in the Tianyuan Megaverse, the Seraphs had learned quite a bit.
True God calmly answered, "She was a Dukkhan who was second only to Tai Chu. In your Spirit Nidus, she would have been a Seraph. A restriction that she put down by sacrificing her own life will not be easily undone."
"But you are Yong Heng," the old man contested.
True God was unfazed. "And I am not yet an Immortal."
The old man stared at True God, who met the old man’s gaze. The two locked eyes silently for a time.
Bao Qi asked, “Where is Yuan Qi?”
True God replied, “I don’t know.”
“And Zhan Yan?”
“I don’t know where Yuan Qi or Zhan Yan are. They are from your Spirit Nidus, and they disappeared after the battle at the Immemorial Citadel. They may have been killed by the Heavens Sect’s experts, or they might have gone into hiding, like Meng Sang.”
The old man was caught off guard. “You know about Meng Sang?”
True God said, “While my Aeternus has been defeated, I am still privy to the happenings of the Tianyuan Megaverse.”
The old man continued to stare at True God. “Why was Tian Ci captured by the Heavens Sect? He should have come here to find you.”
“He did come, and he asked me why I wasn’t helping you.”
Both Seraphs focused on True God. The man turned his head and looked off into the distance. “Here they come again. Let’s avoid them for now.”
The old man and Bao Qi both looked over as well. “Who is that?”
Forgotten Ruins God groaned. “A guy who won’t stop chasing us. He’s the one who captured Tian Ci.”
Killing intent blossomed in the old man’s eyes. “Why not just deal with him?”
Forgotten Ruins God giggled. “Senior, feel free to do so. No one’s stopping you.”
The old man turned to Forgotten Ruins God, and he stared at the woman. “What’s going on?”
Blackless God spoke up, his voice low. “The person who is coming is called Xia Shang. He’s one of the Tianyuan Megaverse’s top experts, and he is also not alone. Our lord’s strength is currently restricted, and the people who are coming are not normal powerhouses.
“It’s best to simply avoid them. Lu Yin is cunning, and given that they are being so open about tracking us, there’s no telling how many experts are lying in wait to surround us. Remember, we are in the Tianyuan Megaverse, and for now, it’s Lu Yin’s domain.”
The round-faced old man did not argue. Instead, he immediately moved to position himself with True God and the others.
If Progenitor Chen were alone, the old man would fight him. After all, given the number of experts present, even if they were surrounded by the Heavens Sect’s forces, things would not be decided quickly.
However, True God’s power was restricted, and more than just Progenitor Chen was approaching. The old man did not want to take such a risk.
None of the Seven Seraphs were fools.
Bao Qi was a completely different person compared to before he had entered Dukkha. In the past, he would have dared to do anything, but at the moment, he was unwilling to take action at all.
Overcoming Dukkha changed people. Every Dukkhan was insane.
A short time later, Progenitor Chen, Progenitor Ku, and several others appeared above the ring of fractured meteors. “There’s nothing here. Not even any insects.”
“That’s odd. Recently, they’ve been leaving fewer and fewer insects left behind by them. Something about that feels off.”
“We need to be careful. According to the Lost Clan, the Nest has already started spawning unknown insects. No one knows what kind of characteristics or abilities they might have. If a Verdant Sage can even take on the form of a corpse king, then nothing is impossible.”
“There’s an unfamiliar aura.”
“It belongs to someone powerful. They must be from the Spirit Nidus.”
“They must be one of the Seraphs. No one else is qualified to seek out True God.”
“They’re gathering together. This will be more difficult, but at least they’re no longer quite so scattered.”
“Let’s keep going.”
In another universe, True God repeated what he had said to Tian Ci, and neither of the Seraphs could argue.
While many of the Spirit Nidus’s people had been killed in the battle at the Tianyuan Megaverse’s boundary, most had only been peak powerhouses. The only real loss was Palace Master Yao, as Tian Ci had been captured later. Aside from the one woman, only the young prodigies who had accompanied the invasion force had been captured.
As long as the Spirit Nidus had their standardized cultivation model, losing a few young elites meant nothing. Time would make up for such a loss. At worst, it would only take them a few decades to recover.
And as long as True God’s power was restricted, he truly could not offer any help.
The Heavens Sect currently ruled over the entire Tianyuan Megaverse, and Lu Yin had been relentlessly tracking down all his enemies. After joining True God, the two Seraphs felt as though they had finally gained enough leverage to confront the Heavens Sect.
“Do you know where Meng Sang is?” the old man asked.
True God answered in a cold tone, “If you don’t know, then how should I?”
The old man frowned. It was quite strange that, even after two years, they still hadn’t received any word from Meng Sang. Was he still recovering from his injuries, or had he also been captured by the Heavens Sect?
Meng Sang had not informed the other Seraphs or anyone else about his intentions to build a springboard beyond the stone gate. Without that information, his actions made no sense whatsoever.
While the springboard was under construction, the Spirit Nidus would stop sending any reinforcements over. However, the current situation meant that, without reinforcements, victory was impossible, not unless the High Seraph’s secret was exposed.
Meng Sang had no intention of revealing to anyone that the High Seraph was attempting to monopolize the Lesser Spirit Megaverse and break through to the Immortal realm on his own. After all, Meng Sang also wanted to become an Immortal in a manner that would allow him to surpass the other Seraphs.
He had his ideas of how to attempt to reset the Lesser Spirit Megaverse with the High Seraph. There was no need for any others to be involved, especially since Meng Sang’s cultivation had recently fallen, leaving him weaker than the other Seraphs.
For some time, the round-faced old man and Bao Qi remained close to True God and his followers. Despite being mocked several times by Forgotten Ruins God, the two Seraphs refused to leave.
Aeternus was the Heavens Sect’s sworn enemy. Given the chance, the Heavens Sect would want to eliminate True God while his power was still restricted. He would only become harder to deal with in the future. For the time being, following True God was the safest choice for the Seraphs, as the Heavens Sect would never be able to find the man.
Their reasoning was sound, but while the Heavens Sect failed to find them, someone else succeeded.
True God was surprised by the sight of the woman who had appeared before him so abruptly. “Wei Nu.”
Standing in front of True God and the others was none other than Professor Wei.
She smiled as she looked at True God. “Yong Heng, it’s been a long time.”
“How did you find me?” True God asked in confusion.
The two Seraphs’ expressions turned cold at being found.
Professor Wei gave a hint of a smile, but she did not explain anything. Instead, she said, “The Mirari Realm is about to appear.”
True God’s eyes flickered.
The round-faced old man stepped forward, clearly excited. “What did you say? That the Mirari Realm is about to appear?”
Professor Wei looked at the Seraph. “So, it’s one of the Spirit Nidus’s Seraphs. What does the Mirari Realm represent for your Spirit Nidus?”
The old man stared at Professor Wei. “Infinite possibilities.”
Professor Wei clasped her hands behind her back and nodded. “True, there are infinite possibilities. The greatest difference between the Tianyuan Megaverse and the Spirit Nidus stems from the Mirari Realm. Its presence here has influenced this megaverse and given rise to numerous parallel universes where time flows at different speeds. Lu Yin controls the means to enter the Mirari Realm, though he can only enter once. However, so long as no one else can enter, that visit might as well be endless for him.
“In a place where time stands still, he could instantly consolidate the resources of the entire Tianyuan Megaverse to use them against your Spirit Nidus.”
“I already know that much. Where is the Mirari Realm, and how do you know that it will appear?” the old man pressed.
Professor Wei’s faint smile returned. “I will tell you where and when the Mirari Realm will appear, though you won’t be the only ones. I am also going to tell Lu Yin and his people the same information. I hope that you can resolve things in the Mirari Realm, but Lu Yin is far too stubborn.”
“Where?” the old man asked.
Professor Wei took her time sharing the time and location that the Mirari Realm would next appear.
The round-faced old man memorized the information, and then he continued to stare at Professor Wei. “You cannot give the Heavens Sect this information. I don’t want any surprises.”
Professor Wei looked amused by the Seraph’s orders. “You want to monopolize the Mirari Realm. Do you want to remove the dam from the River of Aeons and allow the Mirari Realm to reconnect to the other megaverses?”
“Since you already know, then you should stay here. You should also tell me why you know where and when the Mirari Realm will appear.” The Seraph attacked Professor Wei without any hesitation. Regardless of who this woman was, she was a part of the Tianyuan Megaverse. As a Seraph of the Spirit Nidus, the old man had an innate sense of superiority in regards to the Tianyuan Megaverse. If not for the fact that he was being hunted by the Heavens Sect, he would have never gone into hiding.
There were no such reservations preventing him from attacking Professor Wei, as it was clear that she was not one of Lu Yin’s people.
