Chapter 660: Singled Out
Shen Si snapped out of her daze. She suddenly raised her head and looked at Wu Miao and asked solemnly. “Did you leave any evidence when you made the post online?”
Wu Miao shook her head. “Definitely not. I have already canceled the anonymous account that I used. Also, I did not register for it. My assistant was the one who created the account.”
Shen Si heaved a sigh of relief after hearing this.
“What’s wrong? Why did you suddenly ask this?” Wu Miao could not help feeling worried by her question.
Shen Si hesitated before telling Wu Miao what her talent agent had to say about Huo Tingrui.
Wu Miao’s face turned pale. “I-is this lawyer that good?”
“Maybe.” Shen Si did not know either. She did not have any lawyer friends, but if her talent agent mentioned it, he must be quite a force to reckon with.
Shen Si composed herself. She patted Wu Miao on the shoulder when she noticed how scared Wu Miao was. “It’s okay. Since it was just an anonymous account, I doubt anyone knows it was you.”
Wu Miao looked at Shen Si for some time before she comforted herself that everything was fine.
At that moment, her phone suddenly rang.
Wu Miao lowered her eyes and looked at the caller ID. Since it was Luo Ling, her talent agent, she quickly answered the phone.
“What? Didn’t you say the anonymous account was clean and it was impossible for anyone to link it to us?” Wu Miao straightened her body and sounded sharp.
Shen Si was texting on her phone when she heard her cousin. She instantly raised her head and waited for Wu Miao to hang up before she frowned and asked. “Did someone link the anonymous account to you?”
Wu Miao said nothing. Instead, she trembled as she turned on her social media app.
The online situation had changed vastly.
The top post was sent by Lin Shuwen on behalf of Fang Chen attesting to Lucky and Huo Yao’s innocence.
The second post she saw was her being tagged to Fang Chen’s post along with the news agency.
The third post was about a lawyer charging Wu Miao and the news agency to the fullest extent of the law.
...
Wu Miao was at a loss when she saw the second and third posts. Her hand trembled as she tapped on them.
After she was done reading them, her face instantly turned ashen.
In the second post, the mayor singled her out and reprimanded her for her actions.
In the third post, the top-notch lawyer in the industry sent her a sternly worded post accompanied with a photo of the lawyer’s letter telling her it would get couriered to her talent agency soon.
In just a matter of minutes, so many things happen. Wu Miao had not seen this coming at all.
Even though she had used an anonymous account, they were capable of locating the creator and linking her to the incident.
All she did was post Huo Yao’s personal information online.
Shen Si quickly read the latest updates and felt incredibly troubled when she saw the post accompanied by a lawyer’s letter.
Wu Miao snapped out of her daze. She grabbed Shen Si by the arm and said powerlessly, “What should I do now?”
Shen Si pressed her forehead. “I don’t know. Stop asking me. You were the one who did it.”
This was no longer a simple matter of scandal. The top-ranking official in the city was now involved, so it was impossible to make it go away even with good connections.
Wu Miao was on the brink of tears. “How can you say that? You gave me your support when I posted it...”
Shen Si inhaled deeply. She pulled out her hand and interrupted sternly. “That was when you confidently told me that Fang Chen and Huo Yao had an unspeakable relationship! Look what happened? They were just...”
Shen Si shook her head and scoffed. “I don’t know where you heard this from. How could you have made assumptions like that?”
Wu Miao’s face turned even paler.
