Chapter 6374: Opportunity and Danger Co-exist
“You're referring to the Spirit God and the Monstrous God? I have never heard of them, but I can tell they are formidable. They emanate a primeval aura. They could be from the Immemorial Era. To think the Nine Heavens Secret Domain is guarded by such entities. Chu Feng, I don’t think this place is just a medium for teleportation formations,” the Divine Deer said.
“If they have existed since the Immemorial Era, perhaps they might know what happened in the final years of the Ancient Era?” Chu Feng murmured.
“Perhaps, but I doubt they’d tell you. They could have easily helped you but chose not to. I suspect they are reluctant to help you too much, at least not at the moment,” the Divine Deer said.
“That’s normal. I’d be grateful if they helped me, but they aren’t obliged to,” Chu Feng replied.
“That’s true. It’s good to have such a mindset,” the Divine Deer said.
...
After Chu Feng left, the Spirit God paid a visit to the Monstrous God.
“Monstrous God, are you burdened by the suppression of the Immemorial Realm Origin Beasts? You can eliminate a couple of them to lighten the burden if need be. Don’t push yourself too far. I can also help you,” the Spirit God said.
“You’re underestimating me, Spirit God. I’m merely hoodwinking that lad. I can easily suppress these Immemorial Realm Origin Beasts,” the Monstrous God said with a displeased tone.
“Monstrous God, it’s of utmost importance that nothing goes wrong in your suppression of the Immemorial Realm Origin Beasts. I don’t mean anything by it; I just don’t want anything to go wrong,” the Spirit God explained.
“I held on even during the toughest time, let alone now. Don’t worry about it, Spirit God,” the Monstrous God replied.
Hearing that, the Spirit God chose not to harp on this matter. Instead, she asked, “I thought you had a high opinion of Chu Feng. Why didn’t you offer him any help?”
“I do have high expectations of him, but he needs to walk his path. If he dies, it would only mean that he’s not the person we want,” the Monstrous God replied.
“Does that mean you won’t intervene if something happens at the Immemorial Cemetery?” the Spirit God asked.
“Will you make a move?” the Monstrous God asked.
“No. I won’t leave the Nine Heavens Secret Domain,” the Spirit God replied.
“That lad won’t die that easily. He’s not as simple as he appears, right?” The Monstrous God had phrased this statement as a question because the Spirit God had far keener eyes than him.
The Spirit God didn’t reply, but there was a faint curl at the corners of her lips.
...
After some traveling, Chu Feng finally returned to the Immemorial Cemetery. The area was much more bustling than when he was last here, though space was vast enough for the place not to feel crowded.
Warships, floating palaces, war chariots, and humongous monstrous beasts could be spotted everywhere. It was an impressive lineup. Many present-era and Ancient Era powers had gone, many of which Chu Feng had never seen before.
There were more Ancient Era powers than Chu Feng imagined.
There were surprisingly no conflicts among these powers. They were still observing the Immemorial Cemetery, not daring to carelessly enter the area. This was also why they were gathered around the entrance.
Chu Feng paid no heed to them and entered the Immemorial Cemetery.
He was getting a clearer sense of his grandmother’s aura upon arriving at the vicinity, to the point where he could even pinpoint her location. But as he was about to enter the Immemorial Cemetery, he suddenly heard some voices.
He was now sharp enough to sieve out the voices he wanted to hear amid a huge sea of voices. Someone was talking about him.
In the present world of cultivation, Chu Feng’s name was bound to be mentioned where groups of people were gathered, but this time, they were not talking about Chu Feng’s feats, but that a mysterious power was searching for him.
According to them, those people wore hooded world spiritist cloaks, and a pair of deer horns extended from their hoods. A pair of yellow eyes could be seen within their hoods, a sign that they weren’t humans. No one knew where they were from, but their strength was formidable.
“Looks like there are plenty of Ancient Era powers who covet your treasures,” Eggy said.
She didn’t think that power harbored good intentions.
“It’s fine. They can come at me all they want.”
Undeterred, Chu Feng ventured deeper into the Immemorial Cemetery. The place was massive, unlike any other remnant he had been to. Every tomb here was comparable to a realm, and the larger ones were even the size of a starfield.
Despite Chu Feng’s cultivation and the aid of treasures, he still needed a lot of time to traverse this region.
As he flitted by the humongous tombstones that were comparable to realms, he started to feel increasingly uneasy. There was something sinister about the tombstones. He couldn’t help but pay attention to them as he passed them by, and he was able to glean some things about them.
Every tombstone contained an independent remnant, and the fortuitous encounter contained in them was proportionate to their risk. The Immemorial Cemetery was a treasure vault never seen before in the world of cultivation, containing countless fortuitous encounters.
But the danger lurking in the Immemorial Cemetery couldn’t be understated.
Should there be anyone alive in those tombstones, given their means to construct these remnants, they could make sure that no cultivator walked out of the Immemorial Cemetery alive if they willed so.
