Chapter 6199: The Identity of the Woman In a White Dress

Chapter 6199: The Identity of the Woman In a White Dress

The woman in a white dress and the black-robed woman were still standing in the same spot, their eyes locked on an observation formation that now showed Chu Feng and Eggy.

“Chu Feng is brave to not be intimidated by that. Milord, do you think he knows this is a trial, and that we aren’t truly after his life?” the black-robed woman asked.

If she was in the same position, she would have given up as that would have guaranteed both their survival. For that reason, she found Chu Feng’s decision illogical.

“Chu Feng is a bold man. There are many things he doesn’t hesitate to gamble on, but this is the one thing he dares not to gamble on,” the woman in a white dress replied.

“Milord, does this mean Chu Feng has cleared the trial?” the black-robed woman asked.

She had no idea whether the woman in a white dress would continue the trial.

“Of course. It was a gamble back then to choose Jie Ranqing’s son over her, but it looks like it was the right call. Eggy might not have displayed such conviction if it had been Jie Ranqing, and the fusion of the energy might not have proceeded as smoothly. We approached her back then as her kin, but…”

The woman in a white dress suddenly thought of something and bitterly shook her head.

She had witnessed Eggy’s aversion before, which was why she knew it wasn’t easy for Eggy to persevere with such conviction. And this was all Chu Feng’s credit.

She turned to the black-robed woman and said, “Sometimes, I have no choice but to believe in the power of love. It can grant someone incredible bravery and turn them into a different person. But only with the right person can they change for the better. Falling in love with the wrong person can cause one to descend into the abyss instead.”

The black-robed woman suddenly thought of something and chuckled. “I know milord has met the right person.”

“What makes you say so?” the woman in a white dress asked.

“I have heard about milord’s story. That is the kind of love all women crave for.”

The woman in a white dress laughed. “The rumors are out of hand. Don’t take it for real.”

A faint smile lingered on her face despite her words.

The rumors might have evolved beyond control, but that experience remained firmly etched in her mind even though a long time had passed.

“Milord, has the Asura Sword recognized Chu Feng?” the black-robed woman asked.

“It isn’t that easy. The Asura Sword harbors wild ambitions. It isn’t as easy to tame as it looks,” the woman in a white dress replied.

“Based on what I have heard about the Asura Sword, it has only revealed its prowess twice before. One was in that lord’s hand, and the other was in Chu Feng’s grasp. Am I mistaken?”

“No, you are right. That’s why Chu Feng has gained the Asura Sword’s preliminary recognition.”

The woman in a white dress looked at the black-robed woman with eyes filled with apology and gratitude. “Much time has passed in the blink of an eye. You have worked hard maintaining this place all these years. You may return after they leave.”

“Don’t say that, milord. You granted me a new life. Besides, I only have enemies in the Asura Spirit World. My life feels more worthwhile working for you,” the black-robed woman replied.

“Those are history now. No one will be after you if you return now. You can live however you wish. Come back after Chu Feng and the others leave this place,” the woman in a white dress said.

The black-robed woman was grateful. She had her reasons for doing what she did, but that didn’t change how terrible her sins were. There was no lack of powerful and influential figures among those after her life.

There weren’t many people in the Asura Spirit World who could absolve her of her crimes.

…

Eggy spent a while crying in Chu Feng’s embrace.

Chu Feng had never seen her so fragile. She was like a lost little girl who was just found by her family.

He related to her feeling of indignation and fear, for he felt the same too. He wasn’t sure whether he could meet Eggy earlier as well. It wasn’t an easy decision, but he still chose to drink the water inside the bottle because he couldn’t accept losing Eggy.

A surge of energy flowed into his body, significantly recovering his bloodline.

His fighting prowess was still weaker than before, but it was stronger than when he was crossing blows with Shahun Haotian.

Yet, this water didn’t destroy Chu Feng’s martial cultivation; it instead permanently healed his bloodline, though his bloodline remained much too impaired for him to use his bloodline ability. Nevertheless, it was only a matter of time before he regained his bloodline ability.

And it was all thanks to the black bottle’s contents.

Other than that, Chu Feng also received a black scroll, and he had to concede that it was worth even more than the black bottle’s contents.

His impaired bloodline would eventually heal like any injuries, even if it would have taken far longer to heal without the black bottle’s contents. The scroll, on the other hand, could potentially become an indispensable means for him to deal with enemies in the future.

It turned out that the final trial was a test of conviction, and he would be rewarded as long as he was willing to challenge it.

Chu Feng had no idea what the purpose of this trial was, but he understood this was the master of the Immemorial Massacre Sea showing him goodwill.

Eggy remained in Chu Feng’s embrace until she calmed down. At which, she raised her head and asked, “Chu Feng, can we leave now?”

“Of course. I cleared the trial,” Chu Feng replied.

“Why are you dawdling?” Eggy immediately got up. “Hurry up and establish the contract and become mine once more.”

“Understood, Milady Queen,” Chu Feng replied.

He began earnestly constructing the contract formation with a cheerful smile.

Eggy looked at him with gentle eyes. Despite his current liveliness, she still remembered how frail he had been back then. It was thanks to the Immemorial Massacre Sea that he was able to make a recovery.

All of a sudden, she widened her eyes in realization.

She suddenly turned around, her instincts driving her to look in a certain direction. It was where the woman in a white dress was.

The woman in a white dress initially thought it was a coincidence till Eggy pointed at her dantian and mouthed two words with a smile—”Thank you.”

The black-robed woman anxiously turned to the woman in a white dress as she realized that Eggy might have discovered them. The woman in a white dress, on the other hand, revealed a gentle smile.

“She’s a smart one; I’m not surprised that she saw through us. But I am surprised that she doesn’t blame us for putting her through so much suffering. She has truly matured,” the woman in a white dress said with a chuckle.

“Milord, are you going to meet her?” the black-robed woman asked.

“I am tempted to, but I’ll pass. She might try to squeeze benefits out of me for Chu Feng’s sake,” the woman in a white dress replied with a smile.

All of a sudden, her smile froze up.

She manifested a spirit formation gate with a flick of her wrist, and a person emerged from it. This person was not a true entity but a projection conjured by the formation.

The projected person hurriedly half-kneeled on the ground.

“What happened?” the woman in a white dress asked.

“Milord, the Sacred Hell Clan has rebelled. Lord Xing Jue has headed over to suppress them. There is no one holding the fort in our clan now,” the projected person said.
