Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear

Chapter 792

Chapter 792

Bear-san and Linse-san Talking

Linse-san and Rua sat on either side of Lize, and I and Kagali-san sat in front of them.

Linse-san looked at Lize sitting next to her.

“It’s really been three years.” (Linse)

“Yeah, I thought everyone was frozen to death.” (Lize)

“Ugh, Lize is bigger now. I was bigger before…” (Rua)

Three years of Lize’s constant growth, and three years of Rua’s time standing still had reversed the situation.

“Big sister, you’re small and cute.” (Lize)

Lize hugged her sister Rua.

“Now, introduce me to these girls, will you?” (Rua)

Lize stopped hugging Rua. Linse-san and Rua looked at us with curiosity.

“Well, the one dressed as a bear is Yuna-san, and the little one is Kagali-chan. They helped us.” (Lize)

“I see.” (Rua)

“How did you two get here?” (Linse)

“These two are adventurers.” (Lize)

“Adventurers?” (Linse)

One was wearing a bear costume, and the other was a little girl. We didn’t look like adventurers at all.

Next, Lize talked about the past three years, filling in Bollard-san’s explanation.

About the six who survived.

How did they survive for three years?

Tears spilled from Linse-san’s eyes as she listened to the story.

“I’m sorry. You had a hard time. I was frozen for three years without knowing anything.” (Linse)

“It’s not Mother’s fault.” (Lize)

Linse-san was not to blame.

No one could do anything about it.

If anyone was to blame, it would be the Ice Dragon.

“Lize, let me see your hands.” (Linse)

Linse-san had been eyeing Lize’s hands for a while now.

When Linse-san asked for Lize’s hands, Lize hid them behind her back.

“My hands are dirty.” (Lize)

“Let me see them.” (Linse)

Linse-san looked at Lize with gentle but unwavering eyes.

“…” (Lize)

“…” (Linse)

Giving up, Lize showed her hands to Linse-san.

“See, they’re dirty, aren’t they? So…” (Lize)

In order to survive and not cause trouble, Lize worked alongside the adults.

She couldn’t take a bath regularly, and it wasn’t easy to boil water, so she must have used cold water. She probably didn’t have any creams or medicines to take care of her hands.

Looking at her hands, one could see how much Lize had suffered.

Lize tried to pull her hands away, but Linse-san grabbed them.

“They’re not dirty. They’re the hands of someone who’s tried their best to live.” (Linse)

She gently touched Lize’s hands.

“Mother…” (Lize)

“If anyone says your hands are dirty, tell me. I’ll never let anyone say that to my precious daughter.” (Linse)

“Me too. If anyone says anything to you, tell big sister.” (Rua)

Lize’s older sister Rua also held Lize’s hand.

“Big sister…”

“It’s an older sister’s job to protect her precious little sister.” (Rua)

Tears welled up in Lize’s eyes.

It should have been a touching scene, but it was ruined by me being there in a bear costume, which was out of place.

“But now, when I think back, it feels like it was just yesterday that the Ice Dragon appeared.” (Linse)

“The whole town was slowly freezing. Neither Father nor Lize had come back home. It was also getting colder inside the house.” (Rua)

“Yeah. We were hugging each other.” (Linse)

When we saw them, the whole mansion was frozen, and so were the two of them.

It must have been as cold as being in a freezer.

“Then when we woke up, the room and our clothes were wet, Father was haggard, and Lize was bigger than me.” (Rua)

To the two of them, it might have seemed like a dream.

“We tried to return home too, but the blizzard was too strong, so we couldn’t. When the blizzard finally stopped, we somehow managed to get back to the town, but the town was frozen, and so were the people. There was nothing we could do. At that time, we thought we would live like this forever. Then one day, the two of them appeared.” (Lize)

Lize looked at me and Kagali-san.

“We were surprised when we saw lights in the town at night. That there were people there. So when Father and I came to check the situation, we found them there. After listening to our story, they prepared food and a bath for us. It had been three years since we had taken a bath, so we were very happy.” (Lize)

“You hadn’t taken a bath in three years?” (Linse)

“It was hard work to boil water. We had to use wood and fire magic stones carefully. We couldn’t ask for a bath. But we wiped our bodies with wet towels.” (Lize)

“…” (Linse)

“…” (Rua)

The two were silent after hearing Lize’s story.

“At first, when I couldn’t see Mother or Sister, I cried every day. It was cold in the mines, and I only wore work clothes from there. We were eating the same food almost every day, and I could not ask for other kinds of food or sweets, because I would only be more of a burden to Father.” (Lize)

Lize said with a laugh.

At the time, Lize was about 12 years old. I think it must have been hard for Lize, who was the daughter of a lord and lived a wealthy life.

It was only natural for one so young to want to eat sweets.

But there were children in this world who couldn’t get enough food even if they wanted to.

The children at the orphanage have suffered hardships, such as being abandoned by their parents or losing their parents.

Lize was not the only one who was unhappy.

She was a little happier compared to others since she had a kind father.

It was difficult for everyone in the world to be happy.

But I hope that the number of children who are unhappy would decrease as much as possible.

“Things were harder than I thought.” (Linse)

“We now have a bear bath that Yuna-san made at the mine.” (Lize)

“A bear bath?” (Linse)

Now that I think about it, I thought Lize and the others would have to continue living in the mine, so I created the bear bath inside the mine. It was still there without being removed.

“I’ll remove it before I go home because it’s no longer necessary.” (Yuna)

“No, please leave it as it is. If all the people in the town had survived like Mother and Onee-san, then the mines will soon resume operation. I think it would be better for miners to take a bath there when they have the time. I’m sure Father would feel the same.” (Lize)

If she said so, I couldn’t destroy it.

Then Lize told the story of what happened after we appeared.

She told them how we found out that the Ice Dragon could talk and went to the mountaintop to meet it.

“The Ice Dragon spoke?” (Linse)

“Yeah, so Yuna-san and Kagali-chan went to meet the Ice Dragon at the top of the mountain to talk to it.” (Lize)

“I can’t believe the Ice Dragon spoke, but how did they climb that mountain?” (Linse)

“Apart from these two, there were also two cute Bear-san, and they rode them to the top of the mountain.” (Lize)

“Bear-san?” (Rua)

When Lize said bear, Linse-san and Rua looked at me.

I was a bear as well, but no, Lize was not talking about me.

“They’re a black bear and a white bear, called Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear.” (Lize)

After getting permission, I summoned a normal-sized Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear.

Rua stood up and hid behind Lize.

Now it was hard to tell which one was the older sister.

“Big sis, Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear are kind, so don’t worry.” (Lize)

“Really?” (Rua)

Lize approached Swaying Bear and stroked him gently.

“They are cute, after all.” (Lize)

“Are you sure it’s okay?” (Rua)

Rua seemed a little worried, but after seeing Lize’s action, she also slowly reached out to Swaying Bear.

“Soft.” (Rua)

When she saw that Swaying Bear was not scary, she touched Hugging Bear as well.

Then Lize told them about our trip to the top of the mountain.

Another Ice Dragon appeared.

Kagali-san and I fought the new Ice Dragon and drove it away.

“…” (Linse)

“…” (Rua)

I forgot to tell them that I fought the Ice Dragon.

There was no need to keep quiet about it before them.

“Did you fight the Ice Dragon? Did you really drive it away?” (Rua)

“These kids…” (Linse)

“I can’t believe it.” (Rua)

Linse-san and Rua looked at me and Kagali-san.

“At first, I couldn’t believe it, either. But there are traces of the battle outside the town, so you can check it out if you want to. And the horn and scales are on the first floor.” (Lize)

Even so, the two of them look incredulous.

“Whether you believe it or not, don’t tell anyone.” (Yuna)

I asked them anyway.

“That’s right. It would be a hassle if it caused us trouble.” (Kagali)

I also think the dragon might visit this place again in the future.

It would be a hassle if it caused a commotion every time.

Linze also talked about the baby Ice Dragon, and about how mother Ice Dragon and baby Ice Dragon visited me this morning before leaving. And then told them that after the dragons left, and while we were in the middle of cleaning the house, Linse-san and the others woke up from their frozen state.

“I see.” (Rua)

“I can’t believe it, even after hearing it.” (Linse)

That was to be expected.

“If you still can’t believe it, then hear it from Father and the others.” (Lize)

The conversation ended there, and we looked at the Ice Dragon’s horn and scales on the floor.

Kagali-san, Lize and I decided to help clean up the house until Bollard-san returned.

I imitated Kagali-san’s magic to collect water and process the water.

Oh, this was somewhat convenient.
