Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5152: The Promised Time Approaches

Chapter 5152: The Promised Time Approaches

City Lord Manor, Eighth Bastion City.

It was almost night, nearing the start of the third day, with only around twenty-four hours left for the promised time of Fairy Divinacia’s energy collection to be completed.

However, so many things happened during this time again.

Davis had received the Celestial Luminescence Pills, accurately, the Upper Celestial Luminescence Pills, from a peak expert from the Hexadra Clan.

They seemed to be in a hurry, quickly leaving after giving a few instructions.

And as though getting wind of it, the Saint’s forces appeared at this doorstep very quickly.

"Isn’t there still a day left?" Davis raised his brows at Thousand Windblades and the others.

"No hurry, no hurry. We just want to look around."

The Abyssal Radiance Empire’s Grand Elder said with a polite smile.

Davis saw the entourage and saw that there were only the four youths and four elders backing them, other than Thousand Windblades. There was no sign of others and neither the-

"Look around? What’s here to look around? Also, where’s the Saint?" Davis asked with a faint smile.

Thousand Windblades cupped his hands respectfully and cast an ingratiating smile, seemingly having undergone a thorough transformation from his arrogant self, "The Saint is unable to come as he’s busy with his studies of his grand Divine Technique. He is trying to do all he can to better the chances of a Primarch Stage expert siring or giving birth to a child."

"Indeed. Even though he has succeeded in it, he still wants to make the technique more efficient."

"We should learn from his example."

"Right..."

Hearing the Blackcurse Voidfang Eel Clan’s Patriarch and the Morvane Family’s Patriarch praise Saint Riyal Mendez, City Lord Davis had the urge to laugh.

The fact that the Saint got wrecked by some concealed peak experts was leaked quite a while ago. As the City Lord, how could he not be aware of such explosive information?

Evelynn, Jillian, and he all laughed about it when they heard, since he and Evelynn instantly guessed that it was the Celestial Transcendent who went to destroy him, since the latter failed to find Evelynn, who came through the secret passageway.

In this high-stakes and chaotic fate environment, someone was bound to get the short end of the stick.

However, it seems like he wasn’t killed. Instead, was still kept alive.

Davis was wondering if he should keep Saint Riyal Mendez alive despite his disgusting nature. After all, he got a bit scared after knowing it was virtually impossible for a woman to get pregnant or for a man to sire a child in the World Hegemon Stage.

The chances of it occurring were no less than finding a one in a ten or a hundred quadrillion supreme genius, but that doesn’t mean that they could become like that genius, although their entry into the Exalt Stage could be basically guaranteed because of pure talent and bloodline, even if the bloodline wasn’t karmically passed down by a Bloodline Master.

Davis had the confidence that he would instantly reach this level upon entering the Exalt Stage, so he wanted this damned Saint to even complete the World Hegemon Stage version of his Divine Technique.

But on second thought, he thought it was unlikely since it was going to take millions of years or at least a few hundred thousand years for that to happen since it would depend on Saint Riyal Mendez’s talent, cultivation, and comprehension ability.

He imagined Everlight and Myria or even Ellia could come up with better methods once they understood the principles of Saint Riyal Mendez’s Divine Technique.

However, Davis felt a bit disappointed.

Saint Riyal Mendez wasn’t here. He wanted to take them down altogether and steal the Divine Technique, but it seemed like it might not be possible.

"Alright, be seated here, or if you’re bored, you can spar with my elite city forces downstairs under the supervision of City Commander Yigan. In the meantime, I’ll arrange the necessary things to activate the essence spring formation. This and the Upper Celestial Luminescence Pills should be taken at the same time to have greater results." City Lord Davis said with a cold smile.

"Thank you! City Lord Kain!"

Girias and Harman instantly thanked Davis with excitement, and the other two also gave their thanks with smiles.

"Hahaha." The Abyssal Radiance Empire’s Grand Elder caressed his white beard, "It seems like we might see a true dragon emerging from this lineup."

"True." The Grayscale Poison Hound Clan’s Patriarch said with a sigh, knowing it wouldn’t be his clan’s progeny, Pretzen Grayscale, while Crown Prince Wilxes Ingrimm was here.

The Morvane Family’s Patriarch patted Harmon’s shoulder before looking at the others with a smile, "Hopefully, they can enter the top ten in the Zenith Convergence Summit and make waves across the upper realms and catch the eyes of the true powers in the Greater Realm."

"That is indeed our goal, but imagine one of them becomes the winner? The glory and reputation they would carry would simply push them to greater heights!"

"Indeed. They would become Realm Master-level experts or become a terrifying expert in the Greater Realms. I can’t wait to see their growth!"

The two of them talked back and forth, carrying the conversation as they bid farewell and left.

City Lord Davis watched them leave before heading back to his master bedroom.

He saw Evelynn study information on hex runes, not to mention tens of scrolls, jade slips, and other storage containers containing information on Empyrean and Exalt Grade Poison Herbs and other poisonous materials. This was provided by Jillian Hayden.

Her family, at least, didn’t forget to make her useful to the place they were sending her since they loaded her spatial ring with their poison apothecary legacy and even gave her dowry.

Davis walked towards Jillian Hayden before overlooking the desk.

The desk was already a terrifying mess, as part of it seemed to have turned into black sludge.

This was probably the hundredth desk he had given her in bulk since the blood showed a severe reaction every time she tried to cure the mental affliction within and corroded the desk. However, he could sense she was getting close since the adverse reaction seemed to be lightening every subsequent test.

She was grounding a few more poisonous herbs and placing them across the desk in exquisite vials.

Then, she didn’t do anything and stayed quiet for a moment.

She rested her chin on the back of her hands as she stared at the swirling crimson-black bloodsoul essence suspended above a vial on the sludge of the broken desk.

It seemed completely hostile and had a life of its own.

If Evelynn didn’t put up a barrier to shield herself from it, then it would attempt to return to the owner.

Even now, the bloodsoul essence twisted and coiled liked countless invisible spiders were weaving webs through the air.

Jillian Hayden took a moment to appreciate this bloodsoul essence because nearly every poison she introduced was either devoured, rejected, or transformed into something completely different from what was expected. Even the soul fluctuations hidden within the bloodsoul essence possessed an alarming predatory instinct that treated other poisons like snacks.

She had to admit that this bloodsoul essence was highly poisonous as well as immune to most poisons, making it difficult for her to research.

’A monster from the Asura Dimension...’ Jillian Hayden thought as her jade green eyes narrowed.

The Evilbane Hexweaver Arachnid bloodline was exactly as the ancient records described. Every trace of poison introduced into its blood system became prey. It analyzed the poison, broke it apart, adapted, and threw it out of its system because it disdained other poisons.

Still, what made her more vexed wasn’t the arachnid bloodline but the dragon bloodline mixed with it.

The so-called Chaos Dragon Bloodline behaved unlike anything she had ever studied before personally.

Whenever she introduced a poison designed to suppress aggression, the Chaos Dragon bloodline would strengthen the arachnid bloodline’s resistance.

When she introduced a poison designed to enhance aggression into a completely berserk state, the Chaos Dragon bloodline unexpectedly weakened the hostile properties.

It was almost as if the bloodline deliberately sought equilibrium through disorder.

Jillian Hayden kept considering, ’It is chaos, not destruction or creation. It thrives in anarchy and declines in order, containing infinite possibilities of balance and rigidity... a mental affliction from a bloodsoul essence like this is going to be nearly impossible to cure with even the correct poison concoction to clear the bloodthirsty nature of the arachnid because it would be thwarted by the willful dragon bloodline...’

Her fingers quivered ever so lightly. The more she studied it, the more she felt hopeless.

The bloodline constantly rewrote its own reactions. After all, every test produced a different result.

Every conclusion became obsolete moments later, making her want to pull on her own hair.

"How can this be a freak of nature? Something like could not form naturally anywhere. Very difficult, so is it artificial...?’

She wanted to gaze at the person standing behind her but didn’t, wondering if he also had the capabilities of being a beast tamer since she heard he also had quite the array of variant and divergent magical beasts, with the death wolf and the nether rabbit being the most terrifying ones.

Jillian Hayden exhaled softly before focusing on the soul portion of the bloodsoul essence.

This was where the true problem lay-
