Chapter 4571: Abyssborne Monarch Wraith

Chapter 4571: Abyssborne Monarch Wraith

Davis raised his hand and clenched his fist, motioning for them to stop.

Fairy Thunderblaze blinked, wondering what was that but seeing the movements of the others came to a stop, she also stopped.

Davis narrowed his sapphire eyes, trying to see through the dark, shadow environment, but he couldn’t. He could tell this environment was thoroughly shrouded by the Abyssborne Monarch Wraith. It didn’t appear to be toxic or corruptive, so he didn’t need to worry, but he would have to be careful about waking it up.

Judging that nearly every trespasser here who went far managed to make it through, he felt that it would be fine.

Still, he turned to look at them one last time, his eyes indicating for them to flee if they were to come face to face with something they couldn’t deal with.

‘I know… we flee with our partners in different directions and hide until you find us…’ Everyone nodded.

Isabella was with Nadia’s doppelganger. Tia was with Nadia’s doppelganger. Fairy Thunderblaze was with Myria, and Davis was with Nadia. They made sure to remain concealed even upon being separated.

For starters, they had also looked into the map and made copies of it, so even if Davis wasn’t there, they could still make it back as long as they were careful. The return journey wasn’t all that dangerous from this point.

Davis moved forward, and the others followed suit.

None of their figures could be seen even if there was a Peak-Level Empyrean Stage expert trying to spot them. Their concealment was practically the best in the entire congregation of supreme geniuses and beasts alike. It was no exaggeration to say that if they got caught from a glance, then no one would be able to traverse the same path they took.

Their circle became smaller as they drew closer, maintaining a tight formation where they could still see each other.

They walked into the darkness like a headless moth.

They could feel the terrifying pressure as they headed deeper. Unlike them, the sleeping Primarch-level existence didn’t need to suppress its aura. Even as it remained asleep, its passive aura was still mountainous.

Nearly all of them were feeling some sort of regret for entering. This was insane.

Their breathing turned ragged. Their movements became slower and heavy. Each step they made was like crossing a bridge of oppression. It made Isabella remember the Stairway of Regression in the Candidacy, but unlike the projection, this was undoubtedly real.

They were afraid, their hearts pounding within.

Only two of them remained unshaken: Davis and Nadia.

Davis felt like he had to be strong for Isabella and the others. However, Nadia was something else. Ever since she became a Quasi Mythical-Tier Revenant Deathhowl Wolf, she barely felt any fear towards death. It wasn’t like she forgot how to fear, but her mind was full of clarity, and that allowed her to maintain her concealment without a single ripple.

Looked at them walk without hesitation, Isabella and the others felt empowered. Davis’s back was particularly striking, the only solace in this darkness.

Abruptly, Davis stopped.

They also came to a stop.

A headless upper body with a dark fog for the lower body appeared in their vision. It floated like a ghost, slowly making its way towards them. It hovered over Davis’s side, appearing to have not found him. Eventually, it made its way past him, heading towards Isabella.

Isabella’s heart sank. It was heading straight towards her, maintaining a collision course.

However, she didn’t need to worry since she was seated on Nadia’s doppelganger.

Nadia flawlessly side-stepped without creating any sort of disturbance. The shadow figure paused for a moment before continuing to move forward, eventually disappearing from their gaze.

Davis displayed a thumbs-up to the others, causing them to relax.

He then continued onward, and the others followed suit.

“That was scary…” Tia heaved a breath, communicating with Nadia’s doppelganger with physical soul transmission.

“Good moves, elder sister Nadia. However, this is not good. I presume there would be many more shadow spawns. Tell big brother that we need to use divination to take our own route. Otherwise, with our combined divergence, even things that would go normally well wouldn’t go well.”

Nadia’s doppelganger nodded. Whatever she heard, her main body would also come to know.

Hence, Nadia relayed this to Davis using physical soul transmission.

It was the best form of communication since the ripple involved in exchanging energy is minimal. But since it was intimate, it was used less than it deserves to be used.

Nonetheless, if something was wrong, Isabella and Tia could relay to Nadia’s doppelganger, and Nadia would relay to Davis.

Davis heard Tia’s words from Nadia, but he could only inwardly shake his head.

Even he felt like he was nearly out of breath when he tried to activate his karmic eyes, which means that there were monstrous creatures that didn’t belong to the living world nor the shard world here.

It was fine for him to view some karmic threads, but he could not view an entire mountain or the vast sky. Who knew what awaited there to be spotted?

It was no different than looking into the abyss, causing the abyss to look back at them. If caught, the backlash would be severe, and the karmic nature of the injury could even stop his healing powers.

How could he allow Tia to engage in such dangerous acts?

There was a limit to how she could abuse her Karmic Guardian Physique!

Tia pouted as Davis ignored her.

Nevertheless, they followed him.

They encountered more of these shadow spawns but managed to dodge them all. They were merely floating corpses, and as long as someone didn’t alert them, there seemed to be no real danger. The Abyssborne Monarch Wraith still slept like a log, its breath occasionally washing over like a rolling energy wave from the center of this darkness area.

Although it disrupted their movements, it didn’t disrupt their concealment.

They always walked away from it, maintaining a certain distance so as not to alert it. They could guess the distance from the pressure it radiated and the energy waves it passively unleashed.

After two hours, they barely covered four thousand kilometers, but they were out of the darkness given off by the Abyssborne Monarch Wraith.

‘Yes!~”

Tia cheered while hugging Nadia’s crimson mane. She smelled so good, but inhaling the air of death wasn’t good for her health. She turned dizzy and wobbled above Nadia, causing Nadia to catch her with her dark purple wing in a balancing manner.

Davis chuckled.

He turned to look into the distance, muttering, “Three down, twenty-one danger zones to go…”

So far, so good. This went well, but the chances weren’t looking good if they needed to cross that many danger zones, making Davis wonder if he needed to rely on Tia’s divination.
