Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4532: Mining Peak-Level Transcendent Crystals

Chapter 4532: Mining Peak-Level Transcendent Crystals

"Haha." Still, Davis burst out laughing, "Brat, you’re a hundred years early to think we’d be needing resources from you unless it’s the right fit for us. As for our deal, you lucked out on entering this secret realm. Very well, Primarch Grade resources are exempt from the tax system. None of my children needs to hand them over to the family. Use it, share it, sell it, or exchange for contribution points as you see fit. You should know your mothers probably collected more than ten times the resources than your entire group."

"You-"

Davis bragged and laughed mockingly, causing Azariel to fume.

It wasn’t anything new for him to hear the feats about the Earth Dragon Villainess and Icefire Phoenix Demoness. The supreme geniuses were extremely angry at them for plundering most of the resources, but what could they do against them when they had been beaten back every time, even if they adopted hit-and-run tactics?

Despite their extreme prowess, it seemed like their energy reserves were endless. They would even easily catch up with pure speed and slaughter them if they went too far.

Riaz Heavenshade had revealed that it was only thanks to the Realm Pill that they had extraordinary reserves to fight an extended battle. With that, not many were willing to face off against them.

There was now a saying that if they saw the Earth Dragon Villainess or the Icefire Phoenix Demoness, it was time to build a coffin for oneself.

Nonetheless, while Azariel fumed, the other children rejoiced.

Now they can finally accommodate ludicrous amounts of wealth.

However, their spirits were dampened when Davis said that they needed to leave the group, but he wouldn’t let them leave the group. Therefore, they wouldn’t be finding or retrieving any more Primarch Grade resources since it would be a group effort, which means the resources would go to the family. Furthermore, if they were to leave the group without permission, then they would be sent out of the secret realm without delay, while all their goods would be confiscated.

Their expressions went blank.

Davis chuckled evilly while Evelynn and Myria shook their heads.

The children still had plenty of years to learn and grow before they could compete with their father in terms of cunningness. As their father and the head of the family, he still held control over what they did and how they lived. It was useless to go against him now.

Only Azariel and Viridia could somewhat smile when eating since they had gathered over twenty Primarch Grade resources, which should net them a ridiculous amount of wealth if they could sell them.

Abruptly, Eterna, Celestia, and Lucian looked at them with puppy eyes.

Azariel reeled back, "I’m not giving...!"

They turned their gaze to Viridia.

"No... please..." Viridia shook her head.

However, their puppy gazes were intense, full of pleading and obedience.

In the end, Azariel and Viridia relented and gave them two Primarch Grade resources each.

"Yay! I love elder brother Azariel so much~"

Eterna hugged Azariel, even calling him elder brother while he looked like a corpse.

His siblings were so unfair, targeting him using his most vulnerable side.

Davis, Evelynn, Myria, Tia, and Nadia smiled at seeing their antics. It seems that teaching them good values has borne good fruit. From a young age, they were taught not to waste resources or give them away easily, but also to avoid worshiping resources by monopolizing them and to share when they had plenty to spare.

With that, the five children had two Primarch Grade resources each, and the rest of the ten belonged to the three Seraphims.

The three Seraphims also smiled while watching their antics, but they felt awkward. After all, the atmosphere felt so pleasant that they also felt like sharing their resources, but they knew they shouldn’t.

Time passed. The dinner was over, and they proceeded to exit and find the Heavenshades, who were firmly mining the Peak-Level Transcendent Crystal Mine.

Since mining the entire crystalline mountain was going to take years because it needed the strength of an Empyrean at the very least, Azariel suggested that they should at least mine the Vein Cores and Vein Fragments before leaving, so with the Seraphims’ otherworldly perception, they quickly found the areas with the most dense

Mining the Peak-Level Transcendent Crystal Vein Core and Vein Fragments was easier said than done.

It required the strength of Peak Empyreans at the very least, so Davis used his full bodily strength to mine.

With every swing of the pickaxe, Davis’s body rippled with tremendous yet refined power. His upper robe had long since been discarded, revealing a pale torso sculpted like it had been carved from immortal jade, dense with muscle, yet without excess, every fiber honed through countless life-and-death battles and tempered by the laws of chaos.

His arms flexed with an overwhelming force, veins pulsing faintly with grayish light as his physique glowed under the ambient illumination of the crystal cavern. When he exhaled, steam rose from his skin like mist from a dragon’s breath, and when he inhaled, the surrounding energy trembled as though the world itself dared not disturb his rhythm.

*Thud!*

The pickaxe came down once more, a clean arc that cleaved through a meter of translucent crystal as though it were fragile glass. Sparks and fragments exploded into the air, cascading around him in a slow-motion rain of starlight. Each particle reflected the pale yet golden contours of his torso, giving him a radiant, almost divine appearance in the crystalline twilight.

Tia swallowed hard as she watched. Ralaza Heavenshade and Fairy Xiu Juili were also watching, their expressions hidden behind their veil.

The sheer grace in Davis’s movements was almost as absurd as the overwhelming power he used. There was no wasted energy. Every motion was precise, every strike methodical.

Azariel also blinked. His father didn’t look like a brute forcing his way through a mine.

He looked like a celestial warrior sculpting the very earth to his will- only, he was plundering the crystal mine.

Even the Seraphims, often aloof and unshaken, found their gazes lingering. They could only count how many times they were shaken today.

"His body..." Ulna-Von-Elsa murmured, "It has already surpassed the concept of the human race’s physical strength. That’s no longer just a body. It looks like a divine weapon."

Beads of perspiration trickled down Davis’s shoulder, gliding along the contours of his back before vanishing into the dust at his feet. Yet his expression remained calm, his breathing steady, as though this feat required no more effort than a morning stretch.

Knine and Zaine nodded. The latter looked at the former and didn’t think his brawn could match either.

As another massive fragment of the Vein Fragment cracked and dislodged with a resonant boom, Davis finally paused. He turned slightly, sapphire eyes glowing faintly as he gazed back at his children and allies.

"Are you watching?" he asked simply, voice steady but heavy, "This is the power you must one day reach. Since you elder siblings have all made it this far, I’m going to expect more from you."

And with that, he turned back to the mine, lifting the pickaxe once again with ease, like lifting a feather, and resumed his descent into the mountain’s indomitable heart, trying to reach the Peak-Level Transcendent Crystal Vein Core.

Looking at him use a pickaxe to cleave through the Vein Fragments, Azariel and the others were shaken. Their father was still terrifyingly strong that they couldn’t even begin to fathom how to match him in terms of prowess. How could they answer his expectations?

It was ridiculous.
