Chapter 1230: A Potential Beyond
"I’ve never heard of the Guiding Light malfunctioning before... It’s kind of scary." An Apothecary said.
"Yeah, I hope I don’t have such bad luck. I wonder if the tier ten potential we saw was even real."
"Since it malfunctioned, who knows?"
Several seconds passed. Then, just as Rozomius mentioned earlier, the black sphere disappeared as the Guiding Light and Worldly Skies could be seen once more.
As for the Guiding Light, it had returned to its normal state as the golden beads that represented the potential tier and the Natural Energy were nowhere to be found.
"I apologize if I startled you, Apothecary Worldly Skies." Rozomius said as he gave a meaningful look to Worldly Skies.
"I admit, I was somewhat surprised. But, I know that Apothecary Rozomius meant no harm and was only doing so to protect me. I should be thanking you for your quick reaction." Worldly Skies said politely.
"Apothecary Rozomius, that-" Koralena started.
"Now is not the time. We can only hope the others were too far away to see anything clearly." Rozomius quickly interrupted.
"This is troubling. I fear that a time of chaos is upon us." Po said with a heavy sigh.
"It is something beyond us. All we can do is brush over this matter and discuss the situation with the Head. For now..." Rozomius stated.
He then announced, "Natural Energy of Fire. Potential, tier ten."
"Oh? So it was the Natural Energy of Fire? I thought I saw a few flames forming before the black sphere appeared. I guess my eyes were not mistaken." One of the observers said.
"It’s not a Triple Natural Energy, but it’s the most suitable Natural Energy for an Apothecary along with a tier ten potential. We must recruit this young lady before-"
"Before anyone says anything—I appreciate all the offers you must have for me. But, the Mystical Realm Palace is my home and always will be. So, I will have to decline your kindness and generosity beforehand. Then, I will excuse myself." Worldly Skies stated firmly before she returned to Izroth and Celia’s side.
Worldly Skies words sent a shockwave throughout the room.
First, an Apothecary with Triple Natural Energy and a tier ten potential was part of this Mystical Realm Palace. Now, another participant with the Natural Energy of Fire and a tier ten potential also came from the same place.
"Two talented young Apothecaries coming from the same place can’t just be a coincidence. Is this Mystical Realm Palace an old and ancient force that closed its doors to the world and is planning to make their debut once again?" One of the observers commented.
"We’ll have to approach things carefully until we learn more about this Mystical Realm Palace. Having two future grade ten Apothecaries in their ranks—they can’t be underestimated."
"Congratulations, big sis Worldly Skies! It looks like the Palace Master will have to reward you, too." Celia said playfully.
"Oh? Is that so? Then, I’ll be looking forward to it, Palace Master." Worldly Skies said half-jokingly with a light smile.
"I’ll be sure to prepare something suitable." Izroth responded casually.
He then stepped closer to Worldly Skies and spoke in a low voice, "We’ll discuss what happened later."
There were certain restrictions in place within the promotion test area that prevented the use of the system to communicate. And, whatever happened inside of that black sphere was clearly something that the Apothecary Guild did not want spreading outside.
’That wasn’t the Natural Energy of Fire. For a moment, it certainly looked like flames were emerging, but there was something different about it.’
"I’m still not too sure myself, but I will explain what I can." Worldly Skies replied with a simple nod.
"Apothecary Izroth." Rozomius called on.
"It’s finally your turn. Good luck, Palace Master." Celia said with a look of anticipation in her eyes.
"Don’t forget to advertise the Mystical Realm Palace while you’re up there. Advisor Aurora will probably be happy to find out. Though, she might be a little busier than usual starting from today." Worldly Skies stated.
"Advisor Aurora is quite capable. I’m sure she can handle whatever comes her way." Izroth said calmly as he made his way up to the Guiding Light.
"I’ve been looking forward to this part. If it’s the Palace Master, he’ll probably get a tier ten potential as well, right? I’m excited to see what Natural Energy he obtains." Celia said eagerly.
"Well, if it’s the Palace Master... Maybe tier ten isn’t enough? I just hope nothing too big happens." Worldly Skies said with a thoughtful expression.
"He’s not going to do something like break the Guiding Light because of his potential, is he? But, if it’s the Palace Master, it’s not completely impossible." Worldly Skies thought to herself as she released a light sigh.
Meanwhile, Izroth arrived before the Guiding Light as he briefly examined it.
’So, this is the treasure that has been in the Apothecary Guild since its founding. Even this close, my Energy Vision Sense is unable to peer into its mysteries. Without my Divine Appraisal, unless I had direct ownership of the Guiding Light, it would have been impossible to see its information. Though, I have to say, I did not expect for it to be related to that place.’
Name: Azkreixa’s Scale [Appraised]
~Appraisal~
Rank: True World(Unbreakable)
Usage: Manifests «Natural Energy» within those who come into contact with it.
Special Note: This scale belongs to the primordial being «Azkreixa», a creature birthed in the true world that is capable of freely crossing between any realms. It is said that «Azkreixa»’s scales are capable of manipulating the Laws of the World.
~Appraisal~
Izroth was surprised to learn that the Guiding Light was not just some magic artifact. Nor was the Guiding Light its actual name. Rather, it was the scale of a primordial being from the true world!
The true world was still a mysterious place that Izroth did not know much about. However, what he did know was that anything that originated from there was a rare treasure.
’A being capable of freely manipulating the Laws of the World and going wherever it pleases? Even those in the Divine Realm must be jealous of its abilities. For a single one of its scales to able to manifest the Natural Energy of those who it comes into contact with by manipulating the Laws of the World is impressive. Azkreixa... It’s a name I’ve never come across before today. Since it’s related the the true world, I doubt finding any information about it will come easily. That being said, I wonder if the Apothecary Guild is aware of its true identity and intentionally hides its origins.’
In the eyes of outsiders, the "Guiding Light" simply unlocked ones Natural Energy. While it was a unique and useful treasure, its uses were severely limited. In other words, it was not something worth coveting enough to offend the Apothecary Guild over.
However, it having the power to manipulate the Laws of the World and coming from a creatures that could freely move in between realms was different. That kind of treasure was something that could cause another war to break out. After all, with the way to the Divine Realm cut off for several more generations in the Mortal Realm, it could possibly provide the means of ascending in a way that no one else could!
In truth, using it as a mere relic to help others unlock their Natural Energy was wasteful beyond belief. But, Izroth figured that the one responsible for creating the Apothecary Guild had their reasons. They must have also been a capable individual if they were able to secure a scale from a creature that could freely go wherever it pleased.
’Then, shall we see what kind of Natural Energy it will grant me?’
Izroth put his hand on the "Guiding Light".
In an instant, ten golden beads materialized. This caused everyone present to take in a cold breath.
Another one had appeared! A third genius with a tier ten potential had found his way into this promotion test!
"No matter what, we have to get this young man to join our side! I don’t even care what his Natural Energy turns out to be." One of the observers said.
The last two promising talents had already displayed their loyalty to the Mystical Realm Palace. Surely, the third person was not also related to that mysterious place.
"Eh? What is that? Am I seeing this right?" One of the Apothecaries said as he rubbed his eyes while he looked at the Guiding Light.
"One, two... Five... Ten... Eleven? This... Is it possible to get a tier eleven potential?" Another Apothecary said with a dumbfounded expression.
This reaction was not unique to the two Apothecaries. Slowly, everyone started to realize that it was not ten golden beads that appeared, but eleven! It did not take long for everyone to mutter among themselves.
"Eleven? Am I counting right?"
"How is this possible? Is the Guiding Light still malfunctioning?"
"Wait, something’s happening."
Swoosh!
Out of nowhere, the eleventh golden bead turned into a spectrum of colors. Then, a twelfth bead formed that was also a spectrum of colors. Followed by another one. And, by the time new beads stopped appearing, a total of ten golden beads and ten spectrum colored beads was within the Guiding Light!
