Chapter 1212: Life Gathering Pill

Chapter 1212: Life Gathering Pill

"So, it’s Apothecary Avia. I am aware of my actions. It’s just that I couldn’t let this little friend make such a bad trade." Oaklein stated as he glanced over at Izroth.

"You are too shameless, Oaklein." A cold yet delicate voice sounded as a chilling wave formed.

"You say that, but you’re using my shamelessness to your advantage. Who’s really the shameless one here, Cryosa?" Oaklein commented with a grin.

In the Apothecary Guild, there were only a few people who dared to call Oaklein by his name directly.

This time, a woman who looked to be in her mid thirties. She had long white hair, chilling frost blue eyes that resembled snowflakes and wore clothing similar to Oaklein, except the colors were a mixture of white and light blue.

"Greetings, Fifth Elder!" Rygar, Mirael and Kian greeted.

NPC Name: Fifth Elder of the Apothecary Guild, Cryosa(???)

NPC Level: ???

"Fifth Elder, Seventh Elder—the two of you must learn to have more patience. There is no need to rush in like this and disturb the Right of Challenge." An old man with thin gray hair and a long beard said as he appeared out of nowhere.

The old man who arrived also wore the robes of the Apothecary Guild and had a slightly hunched back. His eyes were closed as he walked toward the judging area with a small limp, using a wooden cane to steady himself.

’What silent footsteps. I couldn’t sense his presence until he spoke.’

"Vice-Head, it has been a while. I’m glad to see you in good health." Oaklein said as he cupped his hand into his fist.

"It is rare to see the Vice-Head walking about with such hearty steps." Cryosa stated as she also gave a friendly greeting.

Rygar, Mirael and Kian also made sure to give a respectful greeting. Even Avia, who remained indifferent to the two Apothecary Guild Elders spoke up.

"Apothecary Malric—it has been a while." Avia said.

"Too long, Apothecary Avia. You should visit my estate here in the Apothecary District more often. I have been saving those Por’rah tea leaves that you enjoy." Malric said with a light-hearted chuckle.

"I will be sure to take you up on your kindness in the near future." Avia responded with a light smile.

’Oh? So he’s the Vice-Head of the Apothecary Guild. I heard that he doesn’t show his face much publicly because of personal reasons. But, his condition... It’s amazing that he can still walk around in that state.’

NPC Name: Vice-Head of the Apothecary Guild, Malric(???)

NPC Level: ???

"It’s the Vice-Head...! To think I would get the chance to see the Hero of Brunaharpe in the flesh!" Van exclaimed.

"Back when the shadahi invaded, it’s said that the Vice-head volunteered to go to the frontlines as a Battlefield Apothecary. He saved countless lives and helped turn the tide of many battles with the pills he innovated." Korzon commented with a look of admiration in his eyes.

"Not only is the Vice-Head a skilled grade eight Apothecary, he is also a strong legendary realm powerhouse. Hands of Judgment, Malric—the Vice-Head earned this name because on the battlefield, he could save the life of an ally with one hand and destroy his enemies with the other." Van noted.

Korzon sighed as he shook his head and said, "It’s a shame that he paid such a heavy price when defending Brunaharpe back then. If not for the sacrifice he made, the Vice-Head would have already become a grade nine Apothecary."

"Alright—Elder Oaklein, Elder Cryosa—I know what you want to say, but the Right of Challenge is not something to be taken lightly. That’s why, until everything is settled, I hope that you can hold yourselves back." Malric said unhurriedly.

"I apologize, Vice-Head. I got a little too excited and acted rashly. I will follow your instructions." Oaklein stated as he walked over to spectate from the front of the crowd of Apothecaries.

"Pardon my unsightly behavior, Vice-Head. I will stand aside until the Right of Challenge has concluded." Cryosa said as she made her way next to Oaklein.

"Apothecary Avia, Apothecary Mirael, Apothecary Kian, please do not mind us and continue on with the Right of Challenge." Malric said as he joined Oaklein and Cryosa.

Rygar let out an inward sigh of relief as he could barely hold back the large smile creeping onto his face.

"Thankfully, the Vice-Head stepped in right on time. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to claim ownership of the hydra’s blood." Rygar thought to himself.

When it came to resources and influence, Rygar understood that he could not compare to the Elders of the Apothecary Guild. If they made an offer Izroth could not refuse, he would only be able to swallow his feelings of being wronged and live with the regret.

"Apothecary Izroth, you aren’t going to back out of the bet in front of the Elders and Vice-Head, are you?" Rygar said, goading Izroth on.

"There’s no need to use such shallow provocation. However, the previous terms you mentioned aren’t enough. Fifty grade seven pills—I can get those anytime I want." Izroth said casually.

Now that Izroth knew that Avia was a grade seven Apothecary, if he wanted grade seven pills, all he had to do was ask and provide the resources. Even if that was not the case, there was still the Holy Maiden. She was also a grade seven Apothecary. And, given her upright nature, there was no way the Holy Maiden would turn away the request of her savior.

"Hmph, alright! It doesn’t matter so just name your price!" Rygar scoffed.

With the Golden Eternity Pill, Rygar was confident in his absolute victory. He knew that fifty grade seven pills was not equal to the amount of hydra blood Izroth offered. That being said, most low grade Apothecaries would jump at the chance to get their hands on pills crafted by an experienced Apothecary.

"If I win this bet, you will become my servant for one year." Izroth stated in a carefree manner.

’The Apothecaries of the Mystical Realm Palace are making good progress. But, even though they are hardworking, they are not naturally gifted like Worldly Skies and require a lot of direction to improve on their crafting skills. If I can get a grade seven Apothecary to act as their teacher, they should be able to improve rapidly.’

Although Izroth discovered that Avia was a grade seven Apothecary, he planned on leaving the caretaking of the garden inside the Resplendent Landscape Pocket Dimension Stone to her. Due to that, she would not always be available.

From the very beginning, Izroth chose Rygar as his opponent for the Right of Challenge with making a bet in mind. Initially, he planned on requesting Rygar act as the official Apothecary teacher of the Mystical Realm Palace in his free time to show his sincerity. However, Rygar was too arrogant and clearly looked down on him. If that was the case, Izroth found no reason to show his sincerity.

"Ridiculous! You want to make a grade seven Apothecary your servant?! Who do you think you are?!" Rygar lashed out angrily.

"I merely laid out the terms of the bet. Whether or not you accept it doesn’t matter to me. However, I won’t accept anything else." Izroth said calmly.

Rygar silently grit his teeth. He knew that if he turned down the bet, there would be no chance for him to claim the hydra blood.

"Apothecary Rygar, make your decision quickly. Otherwise, we will continue with the Right of Challenge without further delay and interruption." Avia stated firmly.

"Fine..! If you win, I, Rygar Voidoak, will become your servant for one year! However, if I win, I want every last drop of hydra blood in that vial! You must also abandon your path as an Apothecary—forever! Do you still dare to bet?" Rygar said with a cold gaze.

Everyone present was astounded at the stakes of the bet. Was there a need for the two of them to go so far and take such heavy risks?

"Why wouldn’t I dare?" Izroth responded without hesitation.

"Good! Then, with everyone here as our witnesses, the bet is sealed!" Rygar declared.

"Since the two of you have come to an agreement, we shall proceed with the final judgment. We will start with Apothecary Mirael." Avia stated.

"Apothecary Izroth’s pill is unquestionably a grade four pill. Furthermore, the quality leaves nothing to be deserved as it has achieved a heavenly blessed pill core rank. The most baffling part is the crafting technique Apothecary Izroth used to create this pill. In truth, it is a method I have never witnessed before today and is beyond me. The only thing is that we do not know the precise effects of this pill, so it is hard to compare it directly to a well established pill such as the Golden Eternity Pill. That being said, can’t both problems be addressed right away?" Mirael said.

"Apothecary Mirael brings up a good point. The pill itself seems impressive. But, as we all know, looks can be deceiving. If the effects are mediocre, whether it has a heavenly blessed pill core rank or not is irrelevant." Kian chimed in.

"Then, Apothecary Izroth, can you tell us the name of the pill you crafted as well as its effects? That way, we can find a suitable way to test its effectiveness." Avia requested.

"I call it the Life Gathering Pill. As for its effects—how about we have Vice-Head Malric experience it himself? It is something suitable for him. Plus, I trust that his judgment will be fair and trustworthy." Izroth recommended.

"You want the Vice-Head to take a pill of unknown origins? You’re too brazen!" Rygar scolded.

"This..." Avia looked over at Malric.

"Oh ho? Apothecary Izroth, was it? Are you certain that you want this old man to try your pill? You should know that I won’t hold back just because you’re young." Malric said with an expectant look in his eyes.

"I am confident that you won’t be disappointed. Besides, if the judgment of the effects are coming from you, Apothecary Rygar won’t be able to say I used underhanded methods to win this bet." Izroth stated.
