Chapter 1590: The Deity of Beast Deity
Melinda held Gu Mengmeng’s elbow and said, “If you would like, you can stay here for more days. I can ask the mermaids to take turns pumping air in to ensure that you would have an unlimited supply of oxygen underwater.”
“Yeah, alright.” Gu Mengmeng answered in a straightforward manner. After all, it would take time to make arrangements for Kiss of the Ocean and she would need to stay for a few days.
Without water, the live corals became dead corals very quickly. They did not have the furry texture when they were alive. Instead, they had a golden glisten that was bright red like blood and seemed to be a luxury.
Luckily, this place was in the deep sea, and had not been excessively excavated by the modern people, so the corals were not yet a precious item, otherwise Gu Mengmeng would feel pained to see this extent of wastage.
The area in the air bubble was not huge, but there were four to five complete corals. Each coral was as tall as Elvis and covered an area as wide as three people surrounding it.
Gu Mengmeng treasured the coral so much that her eyes were almost glowing when she looked at it.
Melinda came to Gu Mengmeng’s side and followed her line of sight to size up these corals… She could not tell any difference and asked, “What’s wrong with this coral? Is there anything special?”
With one hand holding the coral and the other hand holding her waist, Gu Mengmeng tilted her head to look at Melinda and asked with a smile, “Melinda, you have many of such corals in your sea right?”
Melinda nodded without understanding her.
Gu Mengmeng rubbed her little hands together and asked, “About that… can you pluck some for me to grind to make a string of pearls?”
Melinda thought that she was going to say something else – why did she have to ask about something this minor?
Laughing softly, Melinda held Gu Mengmeng’s wrist and said, “My Great Messenger, how many times do I have to repeat for you to understand? This is your tribe and everything here belongs to you. You can pluck as many as you want and no one can stop you.”
“Really?” A huge grin formed on Gu Mengmeng’s face and she said, “Then I shan’t be reserved anymore. I want to make a few bracelets, one for myself, one for my daughter, and also one each for you and Sandy.”
“There’s also my share?” Melinda was beyond overjoyed. Previously Gu Mengmeng had made an earring for her and Carter had made another one to match it afterwards. There were many pearls in the deep sea but there was only one that was hanging from her ears. Now, even if other people could not recognize Carter, they could still recognize the earrings on Melinda’s ears. Once they saw this pair of earrings, they would know that they were part of the Messengers tribe.
Now that Gu Mengmeng was going to make bracelets and also one for her, she was naturally happy about it.
Gu Mengmeng laughed and said, “We’re friends, so naturally I should share the good stuff. Did you know? The red coral is one of the eight treasures of Buddhism and can bring good luck for the person wearing it.”
“Buddhism?” Melinda asked in confusion.
Gu Mengmeng nodded and replied, “Just like you guys believing in the Beast Deity, Buddhism is like another deity that the Beast Deity believes in. I did not believe in the past but after experiencing these few years… I have no choice but to believe.”
Gu Mengmeng laughed at herself in a mocking way. It was really ironic for her, someone who did not believe in deities, to become a Beast Deity.
“Oh…” Glowing lights were shooting out from Melinda’s eyes. The Deity of Beast Deity – what a great existence would that be.
Gu Mengmeng did not explain how Buddhism was passed on because she did not really understand much about it. It would be misleading people if she had spouted nonsense and it would not be good.
