Provocative Fiery Wife: My Superior is a Affectionate Spitfire

Chapter 1524 - Believe me; I am serious this time.

Chapter 1524: Believe me; I am serious this time.

“Grandma, I didn’t hide it from you intentionally. I have my plans; it’s…” She eyed the layer of dust in the corner, which was as thick as the number of issues in her heart, yet it was all messed up by her grandmother.

“‘What? Pray tell me what you plan to do.

“When were you ever not serious, yet what was the outcome each time? Which time have you ever won against that b*tch? Pray tell me: When have you succeeded? If not for me giving you ideas, don’t even bother mentioning success—you don’t even have the capability to fight with Pei Ge.”

Her castigation was like a blunt weapon that thrust in Qu Jingwan’s heart. She did want to win against that woman, even if it was a small victory, but the latter either coincidentally avoided it or had Ji Ziming’s help. She had never once truly won against her.

“Believe me; I am serious this time.”

“‘Serious.’ Are you telling me that you haven’t been serious before? Tell me first: What does Pei Ge have on you?”

Old Lady Qu was furious. She did not know that her granddaughter, who usually sought her advice on everything, had a weakness her enemy had gotten hold of and was now using to threaten her into her bidding. Still, it was fine; she would help her granddaughter remove all threats, including that b*tch.

Anyone who blocked their way would not end well.

“Grandma, it is the incident when I drugged Ji Ziming at the hotel last time.”

“That incident?” The old lady’s eyes turned pensive as she narrowed them. Her voice emanated apathy and viciousness as she spoke. “You mean that b*tch has been threatening you with that?”

“Yes. It’s not that I didn’t want to tell you, but she’s truly too much. The moment I discovered that she’s faking her pregnancy, I quickly called the Ji family’s doctor over, but I was threatened by her to hide the truth, or else she would tell Ji Ziming’s mom about the hotel incident, so I could only be her temporary accomplice, but I’m now looking for a chance to expose her; I won’t let her vile schemes succeed.”

“Mhm. That’s my good granddaughter. You must remember that, as long as it is something you want, no matter who is blocking your path, we can kick that person aside. Nothing can hinder you from achieving your goal.”

“Yes. Thank you, grandma. Don’t worry about this anymore; I’m now thinking of ways to deal with that woman. Since she won’t let me live in peace, I won’t let her, too. I’ll tell auntie that Pei Ge’s not actually pregnant and all that woman is doing cheat her to ease their strained relationship.”

“Ease? Hmph!” Old Lady Qu lightly harrumphed as she turned her gaze onto the window. After recalling something, she continued after some time. “How can their relationship ease with you around? Jingwan, what idea do you have? Tell me about it.”

This was the first time she had found the existence of a brain in her granddaughter. Under her tutelage, the latter could finally think of ways to handle Pei Ge by herself. It made her pleased. She leaned back in her chair leisurely and closed her eyes to listen to her granddaughter’s ‘plan’ over the phone.

“Your plan isn’t half bad, but make sure to have Madam Ji realize the abnormality herself of how Pei Ge’s stomach isn’t getting bigger. Still, what will you do if she manages to find a solution to resolve this?”

“A solution?” Qu Jingwan, who had not considered the possibility of Pei Ge catching wind of her plan, started planning for it.

“What will happen if she learns about this?” She quickly pleaded for her grandmother’s help; the latter was always there to save her whenever she was in trouble.

“You can’t rush this. You must ensure first that you won’t be implicated in this. You must keep in mind that everything happening now has nothing to do with you at all. In that case, who do you think will Madam Ji believe? You or a woman who lied about her pregnancy?”

“I understand. Still, if that woman finds out, what do we do?”

“Then, I’ll tell you something now.” Old Lady Qu slowly opened her eyes as a smile crept up her lips. “Pei Ge’s having her period.”

“Her period? How did you know about this?” Qu Jingwan’s voice was filled with joy. It seemed that even God was helping her.

She was so excited that her eyes sparkled and the stomping of her feet in the corner echoed in that small space.

“It’s true. I went to Red Star to find Ji Ziming this morning but bumped into an assistant. She was but a wench with no looks. She bought so many sanitary pads, but when I asked about whom she bought them for, she tried covering for Pei Ge. Still, I managed to find out that she had bought it for that woman.”

A smug smile shone in the old lady’s eyes.

“Jingwan, how do you find the news grandma brought to you?”

“Grandma, you’re the best! I’ve been worrying about her period not coming yet, and here you managed to ease that worry of mine.”

“Indeed. That woman is bound to be unable to compete with you. How can she? Rest assured; even if she wants to fight with you, you still have your grandma here backing you. She won’t have a means to change anything, much less patch up her relationship with Ji Ziming’s mother.”

“You truly treat me the best; without you, I might…”

“Silly lass, I am your grandma. You have to grasp your future with your hands, okay? Definitely don’t let those two have a chance of reconciliation. If that happens, you’ll be far from usurping the seat of the Ji family’s madam.”

“But Ji Ziming doesn’t even put me in his eye. Now that something has happened to his son, he’s even more unwilling to be near me; it’s as if simply speaking to me or any movement directed to me would displease him.”

“It’s fine if he doesn’t like you as long as his mother does. He is filial and won’t do anything against his parents’ wishes. As long as you can catch the favor of his parents, you won’t need to think about anything else. Plus, you have me as your strong and sturdy backer.”

Hearing that last line, Qu Jingwan could finally put down the worry in her heart. She had her grandmother behind her no matter what cropped up.
