Commanding Wind and Cloud

Chapter 404

Chapter 404: Danger

Gabriella gently waved her hands, suggesting Christine to continue. Seeing the gesture, Qian Jin turned his attention to the barbie. Compared to Gabriella who had never made a speech before, Christine was obviously a better illustrator.

“Weirdo Alliance was formed on a joke.” Trying to stay calm, Christine said, “The original name was Unyielding Alliance.”

Quietly, Qian Jin was waiting for further explanation.

“Simply put, it’s a group of people who don’t want to be retinues of others.” Christine thought for a while and said, “Perhaps we are not the best and you can’t even find any leading light among us. But we are determined not to be retinues.”

“Uh-huh.” No wonder it was called Unyielding Alliance.

“The reason why we are called…”

The wind swept along, carrying the dead leaves with it. Subconsciously, Christine folded her arms across her chest.

It looked so familiar. It suddenly occurred to Qian Jin that when he was back in the frontier, Hayen Brianna had also done the same but Qian Jin had done nothing and that female bandit had blamed him for that.

Right! He should do something! Recalling this, Qian Jin immediately took his coat off and draped it over Christine’s shoulders.

The Barbie stood there still like a stick as Qian Jin did all this. After the man fixed the collar to make it look better, the barbie had already flushed into the shade of an apple.

Another gust blew over just in time and Qian Jin saw the thin girl, Gabriella, shuddered in that blue dress. It’s a little cold tonight.

Qian Jin scratched his head and he remembered he had put some clean clothes in the Warrior Dimension. Otherwise, he might have to hold the girl in arms to warm her up. But… Qian Jin secretly wondered if Gabriella was willing to. After all, she was a girl.

Christine recovered herself, pressed down the racing heart and said, “The reason why we are called weirdoes because we have a preference of our own, which seems strange to others.”

“For example,” she readjusted her position, trying to draw herself nearer to Qian Jin and continued, “I like military history! I can learn a lot of tricks and techniques from it.”

Qian Jin nodded with a puzzled face. “That’s great. Why would it seem odd?”

Christine hesitated a little and answered in a lowered voice. “Because I like the military history of the Barbarians.”

“Oh? Is that so?” Qian Jin had to admit he was surprised. Even in the library of the Qian Family, most historical books were about the Zence Army and the Demon Army, its bitter enemy.

“We study ourselves is to spot our strengths and make up for the shortcomings. Our ancestors, haven’t they studied the Demons to find out their weakness?” Christine said softly. “However, the Barbarians, the force which has never possessed a single Ultimate Bloodline Power, have lived on throughout history. Aren’t they worth to study?”

Qian Jin was impressed. This perspective, no matter in the notes written by Qian ancestors or the military records of the Zence Empire, had been mentioned more than a few times, including some famous generals.

Even today, whether in the Demon or Zence empires, there were still think tanks studying the Barbarians. But the researchers were kept secret for fear that the exposure might cause serious consequences.

“As for Gabriella, she studies magic…” Christine’s heart raced again as she looked into Qian Jin’s eyes. So she tried to change the subject. “She is characterized as a weirdo because…”

Qian Jin nodded with an “I already known why” face. To an outsider, the girl did seem like an unparalleled talent. She had only arrived here because she had resources. Anyone smart enough would have given up, but Gabriella, she was addicted to it! It seemed she had been determined to create her own legend.

“And there are still some of us.” The barbie counted her fingers.” Andersius gained entry to the academy with no more than 5 feet but 200 pounds. Everybody said he must lose weight if he didn’t want to destroy his career. He wouldn’t listen. Although he practiced here, he…”

“I can imagine that.” Qian Jin held himself against the ground and said, “Agility is a basic quality for a warrior. He wouldn’t make a great warrior with that kind of figure.”

Christine nodded with sympathy. No longer being a combat warrior now, she dreamed of becoming a female general in the future. As a military officer, she believed she wouldn’t want that kind of warrior, either.

A fatty weighing 200 pounds? Qian Jin’s eyes suddenly brightened. Right! He had won a set of fighting technique in the [Enlak’s Warrior Power House] which might suit Andersius.

“Get down!”

Qian Jin suddenly had a shiver, which rushed into his brain through his spine. Stretching out his arms, he was like a hen holding his chicks, Gabriella and Christine, under his wings. After getting down on the ground, they heard a harsh sound of an arrow piercing the air.

Bang! Three arrows rooted themselves into the ground at the same time! Dirt splashed everywhere! The one-third arrow body that was still above the ground kept shuddering at top speed. Buzzing sounds were heard as friction was produced.

“Is this…?”

Before Christine could have addressed her speculation, Qian Jin held them even tighter and darted out as he made a big, strong and long push-off. The second they left the spot three more arrows arrived with much more power than the previous ones.

[Chain Arrows]? Yuri? The thought got on Qian Jin’s nerves! What the hell? Had the Yuri Family found out that he was stealing their [Divine Shot]? This uninvited guest was way stronger than the one in the forest three years ago.

Seven arrows! The last one almost caught Qian Jin in his back! Faster and faster, they had fallen like the advanced [Chain Arrows]–[May’s Shower]!

No! It was not the [Chain Arrows]! Qian Jin raised his eyebrows. “Have I been practicing a wrong [Divine Shot]? The speed, angle, and the strength. It looked like the [Chain Arrows] but it wasn’t.”

Chirp! A harsh sound came again. All at once, Qian Jin felt a burst of magic power in his arms. The hair of Gabriella stood up into the air like a black waterfall and the tightly-closed eyes suddenly opened with unbelievable coldness and strength.

Boom!

The soil and dirt on the ground were all gathered together in the twinkling of an eye into a three-meter-high cone, which blocked a flying arrow just in time. The arrow was smashed into bits as the cone waggled into debris.

Gloria! Qian Jin hadn’t expected Gloria would possess her sister in this case and suddenly wake up in his arms.

“You have your hand on my chest? I will get you back for this.”

As the unique calm voice of Gloria floated out, Qian Jin found that he had accidentally put his palms on the chest of the girls! He swore he didn’t do this on purpose! He had to hold them in his arms!

No wonder he felt a firm but soft sensation. Subconsciously, Qian Jin pushed forth his fingers a little harder. Christine’s face was burning. She didn’t know what to say or what to do.

“You squeezed it again. I won’t forget it” Gloria said it so indifferently as if it weren’t her body. “I’m here too! And you are going to pay for this one day!”

Only at this time had Qian Jin’s face become flushed but he insisted he was innocent. He had only done this subconsciously because the girl reminded he had two boobs in hands.

He tried to defend himself. But a killing intent had stood in the way.

“Stay here… I’ll go and catch him!”

Letting the two rabbits go, Qian Jin rotated his ankles against the ground. The twisting force made his boots squeak and break. All at once, the brand new warrior shoes had turned old and tatty.

Suddenly, a huge thorn appeared from the ground once again and blocked another two arrows. Down came the thorn and out flew the dirt.

Christine stood aside stunned! She kept swallowing saliva at the scene. Was that Gabriella, the rookie who was allegedly untalented and mocked by all the magic students?

It was instant cast! And Gabriella had performed it almost without pause! Earth Spike kept growing out one after another. It was still the Supreme Mage, who had swept all the mage students on the General Exam! It was the genius Gabriella who had made Principal Rodriguez proud!

No! She was stronger! Christine winked hard. Yes! She was definitely stronger. After a forceful arrow pierced the spikes, she summoned another three in a second.

Another chirp came. It sounded harsh like a tone-deaf person was messing with a violin.

On the roof of a five-floor building, Qian Jin was running fast against the flying arrows. As he slightly tilted his body, the arrows that could tear the air apart rooted themselves on the roof without even brushing his clothes.
