Chapter 1216: Blood Lake

Chapter 1216: Blood Lake

"This is the place!" After a prolonged chase, Qin Sang relied on the Sky-Eyed Butterfly’s supernatural ability and finally, under Old Devil Ye’s relentless pursuit, brought the Snake King to the lake of the seal.

Qin Sang had already thoroughly understood the ancient barriers here. His figure flashed as he entered the gloomy clouds, passed through the ancient barriers with ease, and descended to the lakebed. Controlling the ebony sword, he stirred the sealing power within the lake, and the passage reappeared.

Old Devil Ye’s figure emerged above the dark clouds. Along the way, he had nearly lost track of them several times. Fortunately, he had kept them firmly locked with his spiritual consciousness.

It seemed that Qin Sang knew Abyssal Ruin even better than he, the so-called master of the land.

If Old Devil Ye still could not guess by now that Qin Sang possessed a treasure specialized in breaking barriers, then all his years of cultivation would have been in vain.

He stared at the gloomy clouds for a moment and discerned that the ancient barriers here had already loosened. The disturbances caused by Qin Sang had not yet subsided. Breaking through would not be difficult, but it would inevitably cost him some time.

At Heavenly Corpse Sect's headquarters, Qin Sang and the Snake King emerged from the water.

"So you came in from here, Ming Yue. If I had known earlier, I wouldn’t have concealed it from you that day. If we had come together and entered from here first to explore Abyssal Ruin, perhaps things wouldn’t have become so troublesome..."

Having fought side by side for so long, the wariness between the Snake King and Qin Sang had diminished, replaced by a measure of trust. They now addressed each other directly by name.

The demonic clouds around the Snake King had dispersed somewhat. Its injuries were not light.

Qin Sang shook his head. "I only found this place after quite a few twists and turns..."

As he spoke, he approached the exit of the hidden realm, only to find many Sin Abyss cultivators patrolling nearby. Clearly, they had received word and were searching for the exit.

They exchanged a glance, knowing that Old Devil Ye would catch up at any moment. They had no choice but to force their way out.

"After we get out, we split up and draw them away," the Snake King said using voice transmission.

Qin Sang had the same thought.

At the bottom of Heavenly Scar, a patrol squad of four guards entered a patch of black forest.

"Senior Feng told us to search for the entrance to Abyssal Ruin. Why have we never heard of this before? Aside from that cave, does Sin Abyss really have other entrances?" one of the guards asked with a puzzled expression.

"How would we know such secrets? Since both seniors said so, it must be real. Probably they want to take advantage of the disturbances in Sin God Palace to make things easier..." He trailed off mid-sentence, suddenly staring blankly at a pile of rocks outside the forest.

The others followed his gaze and saw an abnormal fluctuation appear over the rocks. Then two figures stepped out from the distortion.

Whoosh! A blade and a sword struck simultaneously, instantly taking the lives of all four. But from the distance came the urgent ringing of bells, and they sensed the rapid approach of a Spiritual Infant cultivator.

"Sigh! Still a step too slow. They managed to send out a signal." The Snake King let out a light sigh, rolled up a gust of demonic wind, and shot into the sky.

Qin Sang departed in the opposite direction. Chaos erupted within Heavenly Scar.

Old Devil Ye finally tracked them down. He spread his spiritual consciousness to its limit and searched carefully, soon locking onto Qin Sang from afar.

Outside Heavenly Scar, Qin Sang pushed his Lightning Evasion to the extreme, shaking off the other pursuers, yet he still felt a faint thread of spiritual consciousness locking onto him from afar.

Sigh! The gap in cultivation is comprehensive. Some things cannot be made up for with treasures and supernatural abilities. After I return, I must find a way to obtain the Ancestral Sacred Flame as soon as possible and cultivate the Fire Seed Golden Lotus to strengthen my spiritual consciousness. At the very least, when facing such situations again, it will be much easier to break free from the locking on of spiritual consciousness. Thinking this, Qin Sang activated the ebony sword. Sword evasion merged with Lightning Evasion, and his speed surged once more.

In broad daylight, Qin Sang transformed into a streak of heavenly lightning, tearing across the sky.

Mortals mistook it for a falling star. Only immortal cultivators could sense the terrifying aura within the lightning, trembling in fear.

Old Devil Ye initially thought Qin Sang had used some secret technique that overexerted himself to forcibly boost his speed, yet there was no sign of him slowing down.

Old Devil Ye suddenly frowned. He sensed an abnormal disturbance from Blood Lake. After a moment’s thought, he had no choice but to abandon the pursuit.

Sensing Qin Sang’s disappearance, Old Devil Ye let out a cold snort and turned back toward Heavenly Corpse Sect's headquarters.

A Sin Abyss Spiritual Infant cultivator was searching the area. It was the white-haired elder who had guarded the cave entrance earlier. Upon seeing Old Devil Ye, he smiled bitterly. "Cold Lizard self-destructed his astra. Daoist Wan has already chased after him and has yet to return. I was incompetent and let the Snake King escape. His cultivation is higher than mine, and I failed to see through his concealment technique."

Old Devil Ye said calmly, "We were held back by Blood Lake and could not exert our full strength. It’s normal that they escaped. Keep an eye on Demon King Ming Yue in the future. Although I failed to capture him, I have more or less forced out most of his methods. Warn the others to be careful to avoid more of us from falling at his hands."

"Yes! I just carefully investigated this place. I suspect it may be the headquarters of a sect from several thousand years ago, Heavenly Corpse Sect. The sect has always been mysterious and was once besieged by the righteous path. It is said their sect leader possessed a refined corpse at the corpse king level. Later, the upper echelon suddenly vanished altogether, and the sect faded into obscurity. Who would have thought their headquarters was established here, and that it connects to Abyssal Ruin? That person may have obtained Heavenly Corpse Sect’s inheritance..." The white-haired elder pointed toward the headquarters as he spoke.

"Heavenly Corpse Sect?" Old Devil Ye nodded, showing little concern. "Send people to seal off this place. Leave this passage intact. It may be useful."

Before his words had even settled, he activated the passage and returned to Abyssal Ruin.

The white-haired elder still looked worried, unable to hide his concern. "Elder Ye, if the Snake King and Demon King Ming Yue return, they will likely inform the Two-Domain Alliance about Blood Lake. Anyone who has been deep into Endless Valley could easily connect the dots and deduce our plan. We thought that while the Two-Domain Alliance was entangled on the front lines, they would not notice the abnormalities in Endless Valley, allowing us to deceive them. Who would have expected them to suddenly barge into Abyssal Ruin... Perhaps it is heaven's will..."

"Hehe, heaven's will? So what if they figure it out? They cannot possibly guess our true objective. At most, they will enter alongside us. But we are one step ahead, and that alone is enough to seize the initiative." Old Devil Ye waved his hand and stepped into the passage.

Seeing how composed he was, the white-haired elder’s worries eased somewhat.

Qin Sang felt the spiritual consciousness locking onto him disappear, but he still did not dare relax. Only after nearly exhausting the lightning power within the phoenix wings did he finally dive into a remote mountain range.

After confirming no one was following him, Qin Sang quietly let out a breath. This journey into Abyssal Ruin had been extremely perilous. Fortunately, his abilities were strong enough for him to escape danger. He wondered how the Snake King and the others had fared.

After a brief period of recovery, he continued onward and left Sin Abyss directly. Before parting, he and the Snake King had agreed on a rendezvous point in the desert.

"It’s actually a type of treasure I’ve never heard of. Not an astra... Perhaps some kind of spiritual material..." Qin Sang took out the white copper and recalled the records he had read in the past, yet found nothing related. It was likely an extremely rare spiritual material, though he did not know its name.

The white copper bore the barriers Qin Sang had placed upon it. Its glow had dimmed slightly, but it was still dazzling.

Just as Qin Sang was about to carefully examine its properties, he sensed a voice transmitted from the Primordial Unity Ring.

"Master, my mother and I... We saw an identical Blood Lake in Endless Valley..." The fat chicken seemed to have hesitated for a long time, his tone lacking confidence.
