Chapter 448: Rescue

The two men bowed even though they were Manifestation Realm cultivators while the young man in front of them was only in the Tribulation Ascendance Realm.

"Young Master, the guards of this forest and some of our men are still searching for her..."

The young man didn’t look pleased at all. He glared at the two men with hidden anger.

"How can you mess this up so badly?"

Both men lowered their heads in shame and fear. Their Young Master’s mood was unpredictable.

Capturing Sun Xiurong wasn’t on their list when they had come to the border but after they got knowledge of her doing a mission nearby, the initiation of the attack on the town and running away to lure her out was all part of the plan, yet she still slipped away.

The young man didn’t finish his sentence and grabbed the two women’s hands before pulling them back inside the carriage.

The two men understood very well what that last sentence meant so they sighed and went away in hopes of finding Sun Xiurong along with the other devil cultivators who had come to help them in the search.

The only person who stayed to protect the young man was the Late Stage Manifestation Realm cultivator who kept an eye on everything and listened to the unrestrained screams of the women from the carriage. It was obvious they weren’t getting treated well inside.

They were all from the Mysterious Heaven Sect and they had come here urgently after hearing some unpleasant news.

"Is this the town?" the strongest man among them asked with a calm expression.

"Yes, Senior Brother Zhe," the woman nodded.

"The City Lord is coming..." the other man pointed towards a woman cultivator who was approaching them.

The woman cultivator arrived and bowed slightly before speaking in an urgent tone.

"There is still no news of Immortal Sun till now..."

The disciples all frowned. They had come here because of this..

Usually no one would have cared much if this had been some other disciple since life and death was part of the journey but since this was Sun Xiurong, it was a grave matter for the Mysterious Heaven Sect.

The elders of the Mysterious Heaven Sect didn’t like it when Sun Xiurong went on dangerous missions so they always arranged something to keep an eye on her.

This mission was one of them, so the City Lord of this town had already been advised to keep an eye on Sun Xiurong discreetly and if anything unusual happened then alert the sect immediately.

To think such a scenario would really occur and now there was no news of Sun Xiurong. They didn’t have any way to contact her either as Sun Xiurong never shared a pair of communication talismans with anyone.

"Did she really go into the Devil Paradise Zone?" the woman disciple asked with a worried tone.

"Given my responsibilities, I cannot leave the vicinity of this town, so forgive me but I am not sure if she entered inside the zone or not..." the City Lord apologized.

"It’s alright, this isn’t your fault, we will take care of it from here..." the strongest disciple gave the City Lord a reassuring smile.

The City Lord got momentarily stunned before controlling her emotions and nodding.

The City Lord knew who this handsome man was, Zhe Peng.

Zhe Peng was quite famous in Azure Province. His devilish handsomeness along with his status as the Young Master of the Zhe Clan was irresistible to many women cultivators.

Nonetheless, Zhe Peng didn’t seem like someone who would give up easily. He always tried to find reasons to talk with Sun Xiurong using his seniority.

This was also the reason he came here even when he wasn’t part of the Mission Hall which handled the rescue of important disciples from dangerous missions.

"In which direction did she go?" Zhe Peng asked the City Lord calmly.

"Towards that vitality absorbing abomination forest..."

"Ahh, that is a little troublesome..." the other man shook his head slightly.

"Let’s go, we must save Junior Sister Sun..." Zhe Peng said and immediately began flying in the direction of the forest.

The other disciple’s followed him, although it was a little hard to keep pace with Zhe Peng..
