Chapter 545: Natal Spiritual Artifact
Lin Xuan Qi stopped him before he could apologize and said, "It’s fine to be curious but be careful of trying to find out too much for your own good.
"Focus on your current progress first."
He gave Lao Er a plausible excuse and Lao Er bowed to ’him’.
"Yes, Grand Ancestor Lin. I shall remember your teachings." Lao Er frowned and he thought about how impatient he was.
Better be patient next time. He thought and they continued with the cultivation practice.
When they were done, Lin Xuan Qi took out the Daoist Five-Element Cultivation Techniques and read about what would happen when he got to Core Formation Level.
He frowned when he read that he would be able to cultivate a Natal Spiritual Artifact.
It meant that he might have to buy or search for one that would be suitable for him.
The hammers he had were great but after the battles so far, they weren’t at a level that would be good enough.
Maybe he would have to get a weapon that was at Spirit or Heaven Level.
His hammers were after all only at Earth Level, which was a level lower than the Spirit Level weapons and two levels lower than the Heaven Level.
He shuddered to think about how much it would cost for weapons at these levels.
It seemed to him that the need for money and resources as a cultivator was endless and he could understand why some of them would go to extreme means to get what they needed.
Either you get more powerful or be consumed by the others.
Lin Xuan Qi gave out a sigh, shook his head and closed the manuscript before he went to bed.
No point for him to worry too much.
All he could do was to continue what he was doing and do it faster.
The Qing Feng Sect might not allow him much luxury to do so in the future.
...
Next day.
The first thing that Lin Xuan Qi did was to go and check on the progress of the refurnishing with Bai Xun.
Everything went well and it was completed for the two retail stores.
Then, it was time to confirm the staff for the retail stores and provide them the training.
Information panels with words appeared in his mind when the new staff agreed to his terms of employment.
[Congratulations to host for recruiting ten staff to the retail stores.]
[Additional 100KG of rice will be delivered to the mansion daily.]
[Keep up the good work and recruit more personnel.]
He was glad to see the notification as it meant more income from the rice for him.
And he was not done with it.
With the expansion in the retail stores in Bian Jing too, he would need more staff in the retail stores over there and workers in the factories when he expanded the production capacity to provide more products for sale in both cities.
The training went well with Lin Xuan Qi supervising by the side.
He chimed in when Bai Xun couldn’t get the point across clearly.
But despite these few hiccups, he was pleased with the performance of Bai Xun and how he was able to handle everything.
Things were more or less settled in Gui Feng City for him and he decided that it was time to get back to Hong Feng City the next day.
He had promised Xue Cong and the others that it would take around one week for the trip and it was near the end of it.
After they were done with the training, Lin Xuan Qi went and bought some souvenirs for Xue Cong and the others before they went back to the inn for dinner.
"Here’s to a safe journey back home." Bai Xun proposed a toast for Lin Xuan Qi and the others joined in with him.
"And here’s to you for the successful opening of the retail stores." Lin Xuan Qi picked up his teacup and returned the toast.
After he downed the tea in a mouthful, he glanced at Bai Xun and said, "Don’t need to send me out to the city tomorrow, do what you must for the retail stores.
"Once I get back, the first batch of goods will be on their way within a few days."
"Yes, Master Lin." Bai Xun cupped his hands at Lin Xuan Qi and said.
They had a sumptuous dinner and the mood was relaxed for everyone.
The guards were also eager to get back to Hong Feng City.
Staying in an inn was still very much inconvenient compared to staying in the Lin Mansion.
They had also grown tired of the sightseeing so far with everything that was interesting priced out of their reach.
Things were much more affordable for them in Hong Feng City.
...
Next day.
Bai Xun was up early and he waited for Lin Xuan Qi to come out of the inn.
Lin Xuan Qi had woken up just as early but he went to the dining area to have breakfast with the coachman and the guards first.
Finally, after Lin Xuan Qi was done with breakfast, it was time for him to return home.
"Master Lin, see you again soon."
"Don’t worry. We will meet when I come and check on how well the retail shops are doing." Lin Xuan Qi said and he thought quietly about checking on how well Lao Er and Ling Er would be doing on his next trip here.
He boarded the horse carriage, waved at Bai Xun and said to the coachman, "Bring us back to Hong Feng City."
Crack.
The whip of the coachman cracked and the horses began to trot and pull the horse carriage behind them.
Lin Xuan Qi glanced out of the window and marveled at the prosperous streets of Gui Feng City for one last time, before he rested his head onto the back of the seat.
The journey back to Hong Feng City took a few days and it was uneventful with them returning safely.
When the familiar walls of Hong Feng City appeared in his sight again, Lin Xuan Qi couldn’t help but feel eager to see all the familiar faces of Xue Cong and the others soon.
"Stop! Who are you!"
