Ye Fan had already determined the specific time for the Survivor Alliance's attack.
Because they had a group of people who had already entered the radar range.
But it wasn't tonight; it was going to be tomorrow.
If the opponent doesn't move, Ye Fan won't move either. He didn't sleep at night because the second Barracks was completed.
Ye Fan went to the area near the first Barracks and set up the second Barracks.
Like the first Barracks, the base was fully equipped.
Once this Barracks was set up, the number of units that could be produced under Ye Fan's command skyrocketed!
He didn't do anything else; he first produced a Conscript.
Each Conscript costs 100 Gold and used to take a minute to produce.
But with two Barracks, the production time was greatly reduced, and a Conscript could be produced in thirty seconds.
As soon as the Conscript was produced, Ye Fan immediately received a prompt from Nana.
"Congratulations, sir, your Red Alert Units have exceeded a battalion's strength, promoted to Captain!"
Upon hearing this, Ye Fan felt somewhat emotional.
Finally, a Captain.
But he didn't immediately check the Captain's package rights; he immediately started producing the next building.
Arms Factory.
150,000 Gold can manufacture an Arms Factory, which is an important building for the Dawn Army.
Zombies are coming, and not enough bullets won't do.
"Confirmed production of Arms Factory, consumption of 150,000 Gold, will take 25 hours. Please be patient, sir."
Ye Fan calculated the time; one day plus an hour, it should be completed by tomorrow night, in time to deal with the zombie wave.
After making the Arms Factory, he still had 250,000 Gold left.
Now Ye Fan wanted to see what changes had occurred in his troops after becoming a Captain.
First was his Captain's package.
He retrieved it from the system, and the package appeared.
Commander's Uniform (Captain Level): Colonel rank, includes a camouflage uniform, regular uniform, and winter clothing, and comes with a commander's cloak.
Ye Fan took out his new uniform.
The camouflage and regular uniforms were similar to before, except the rank had changed from Major to Colonel.
The winter clothing was a thicker set, including a military coat with good insulation for winter.
There was also a new set of cotton military boots.
The most significant difference was the commander's cloak, which he hadn't had before.
A white cloak!
Ye Fan unfolded it, not entirely white; the cloak had gold-stitched edges and a Dawn Army insignia on the back.
Commander's Cloak: Excellent insulation, bulletproof, fire-resistant, significantly reduces the attack power of sniper rifles, heavy machine guns, and Level 2 Mutated Zombies, effectively protects the commander's body, and is quite stylish.
Ye Fan shook it; it wasn't too heavy and wasn't a burden when worn.
He casually wrapped it around himself and turned around in front of a mirror.
The cloak's hem twirled, and the gold-stitched embroidery flashed with golden light.
Turning around, the Dawn Army insignia on the back was vividly clear, as if the Dawn was about to pierce through the dark clouds and the sun was about to rise.
"So handsome, it's a perfect match for my temperament."
After laying down the cloak, his backpack was also upgraded.
It now had a 30-cubic storage space inside, although Ye Fan didn't have much good stuff to put in it yet.
The upgraded medical kit now contained five doses of Antiviral Serum.
The serum's potency further increased, able to rescue someone with up to 75% zombification.
After checking the uniform and backpack, next was his gun.
Ye Fan felt good about his current silenced submachine gun, but since he was now a Captain, his gun should naturally be upgraded too.
But he didn't find a replacement gun inside the backpack.
The 12-style silenced submachine gun was still on him.
"Nana, didn't my gun change?"
"The 12-style submachine gun represents a high level of modern firearms, and this one has black technology. Future guns will be modifications based on this one."
"Oh! Is this one modified then?"
"Yes, sir, you can take a look."
Ye Fan took out his submachine gun and indeed found something different.
Firstly, the gun body was slightly larger, reaching a normal submachine gun's size, and the muzzle had an additional interface; the sighting equipment was also repositioned.
"What is this interface for?"
"This modifies the muzzle of the submachine gun to allow for the installation and firing of grenade launchers. You can find a grenade in the commander's backpack, with an automatic refresh every 24 hours."
Ye Fan eagerly searched in his bag and found it.
A grenade about 25 centimeters long appeared.
He matched it up, just right for the modified submachine gun.
"Is this an incendiary or armor-piercing round?"
"This is an armor-piercing round, with better precision aiming capabilities than standard grenades. It can accurately hit small targets with strong armor-piercing ability and explosive power, and is portable. You can store your gun and grenades in the commander's backpack for convenience."
Ye Fan quickly envisioned a scene.
The enemy points a gun at him; he pulls his body into the cloak and then points this grenade-like thing at the enemy.
"What a great thing, my gun now has both submachine gun and grenade launcher features."
However, with the gun bigger and adding a grenade, wearing it on the waist wasn't as convenient. Ye Fan stored it in the backpack.
With the cloak on, pulling out the gun won't give away anything.
This cloak, in Ye Fan's view, has bulletproof, concealing, and stylish functions.
Finally, there was Ye Fan's assigned vehicle.
His original Iron Armor was already the pinnacle of off-road vehicles, yet he didn't know how his new vehicle would change.
Would it be like the firearms, just modified?
When Ye Fan saw a new car key, he realized it wasn't.
He now had a new vehicle.
Commander's Vehicle (Captain Level): "Raging Bull" Military Off-Road RV.
Adapted from the plateau region's Raging Bull military border patrol vehicle, it increased armor thickness and equipped a 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun as its main weapon. Maximum personnel capacity is seventeen, with an onboard kitchen, restroom, shower, and comfortable bed for reducing fatigue on long marches.
Weighing in at eighteen tons, it comes with eight explosion-proof tires, measuring 8234mm in length, 2657mm in height, 3101mm in width, able to navigate water up to 1.5 meters deep, with a top speed of 160 km/h.
With the key, Ye Fan saw the beast downstairs.
Bigger than the Iron Armor, this should be an armored RV.
It bore the distinct insignia of the Dawn Army.
The Iron Armor was still there, but that was a Battalion Commander Level vehicle.
"A car with a kitchen and restroom? And a shower and bed?"
Ye Fan smiled wryly, shaking his head, "Is this to make me decadent?"
"Soldiers sit in the car, and I sleep on the bed?"
He wondered if it was a single or double bed...
After pocketing the key, Ye Fan's equipment was further upgraded.
But, of course, his personal equipment's upgrade wasn't particularly crucial; the main focus was on the upgrade of his troops' combat power.
He immediately checked his soldiers' page and machinery page.
He wanted to see if being promoted to Captain had unlocked any new combat units.
Both the soldiers' page and machinery page had new combat units available.
Demolition Team Member: Cost 800 Gold.
This was the newly added combat unit on the soldiers' page, with one addition on the machinery page too.
D-66 Towed Rocket Cannon: Cost 6000 Gold.
These two units were unlocked after Ye Fan was promoted to Captain.
The Demolition Team Member was a soldier holding a pack of explosives that could be used on the front battlefield, as well as in demolishing bridges, roads, and buildings, essentially a super demolition team.
The appearance of the D-66 Rocket Cannon brightened Ye Fan's eyes.
"Rocket Cannon? That's a good thing."
"For dealing with large groups of enemies or zombies, this is sometimes more useful than a tank."
Ye Fan was excited.
New units were appearing, tanks and rocket cannons were on hand; he was ready to ramp up production.
Zombies would surely get to meet his new weapons. He wondered if the folks in the Survivor Alliance would be lucky enough to see them too.
