My Cyber Psychosis is Task Prompt

Chapter 109: Ogre

The quiet brought by the night was destroyed.

The echo of the explosion deafened John's ears.

His mouth and nose were filled with smoke and dust; instinctively he fled for his life, but when he looked back, he saw—Nando was struggling with his neck raised amid the wreckage.

[Rescue Nando. (Optional)]

Before John could clearly see the mission text, he had already turned and rushed into that mass of scorching smoke.

The members of the Wanderer Camp suffered heavy damage.

The attack team consisted of core members, who had seen major scenes in the wilderness, and those not affected by the explosion were all trying to rescue Nando.

The smoke and dust were so dense it was suffocating.

John ran over the molten ground, not even registering what on earth had launched the attack, constantly waving his hands to clear the smoke, his wrist crashing against Nando's heavy armor shell.

His heart pounded, unable to tell whether it was joy or fear, and instinctively he wanted to lift the other up.

"Ah—damn, no!"

Nando let out a heart-wrenching roar.

His heavy armor helmet was completely shattered, his entire head charred black with blood occasionally dripping out.

John dropped his gun, bent down, and inserted both hands under Nando's armpits.

He tried to drag him to a cooler place but stumbled half a foot into a crater raised by the blast.

The chaotic movements dispersed part of the smoke and dust.

John saw:

Nando's right elbow was broken, the heavy armor laser-burnt through, exoskeleton assist device along with the right foot entirely wasted, the high-temperature attack scorched the contact surface, exposing darkening scabs...

"F*ck, f*ck! Ah!"

John gritted his teeth and exerted force, readjusting the angle to free Nando from the load.

They were preparing to retreat...

Rumble——

The ground shook violently.

John shouldered Nando and directly kneeled down from the loss of balance.

The feeling was like a heavyweight tank getting face dropped, the already cracked ground denting into an arc-shaped pit, gray smoke diffusing outward in a circular pattern centered at the point of impact.

Buzzing.

John turned his head following the engine roar.

He saw a heavy full-body Power Armor maintaining a landing stance.

Under the flares, it appeared completely pale, with two thin, metallic antenna-like horns standing upright atop its helmet, the facial design easily reminiscent of demonic figures in East Asian ukiyo-e culture.

The fully enclosed helmet had no observation ports.

The jet stream it emitted could even lift John's coat.

The Messiah's Eye he wore popped up scanning results.

[Equipment: Big Ghost Power Armor [23 Hata 1.7 version]]

Staying crouched it could still overlook John, and in a standing position it was conservatively estimated to reach over three meters, with the engine roaring and the knobs on the surface of the heavy armor shell slowly rotating.

John stood there dazed, carrying Nando.

[Scan detected.]

Black Light emitted an alert.

The eye position of the Big Ghost burst into a red stream of light, converging into a small cross under the dim sky.

This monstrosity was human-operated!

Instinctively, John let loose his arms and threw himself forward, and a violent hit followed, sending his body flying through the air, the choking sensation and sharp pain spread throughout his body the moment he landed.

Da da da...

A barrage of gunfire ripped through the dispersing smoke, landing on the Power Armor.

By this time, John had rolled several times.

In combat mode, his Messiah's Eye doesn't fully close.

The spinning heavens and earth filled with electromagnetic turbulence and flashing red warnings.

In the lower right corner, even the miniature graphics showed:

Igdrasir was slightly damaged, the upper limb alloy skeleton absorbed over forty percent of the force.

Even so, John nearly failed to catch his breath, with his cheeks puffed up, only managing to regain his breathing after coughing out blood!

Nando lay not far away.

Blood spread from beneath his body, he had already lost consciousness.

The area around the Big Ghost was already covered by gunfire, yet its entire body was shielded by gently curved, layered armor.

The armor maintained a crouching position under the bombardment.

Its two legs were terrifyingly thick, with a beetle-like device on the front of the knees able to shield most of the firepower.

John looked from the side:

A nearly two-meter artillery barrel was connected to Big Ghost's left arm, the energy indicator at the end had only half a bar left, and the high temperature from the muzzle close to the ground distorted the air.

The attack that tore up the ground earlier was caused by it.

Buzzing!

[Everyone get the f*ck out of the way, die, beast!]

Talia's roar came through the team channel.

She drove an alloy war vehicle rushing over, the bumper covered in alloy spikes, abandoned vehicles and cement scorched earth on the road were scattered like foam.

Big Ghost's armor surface constantly emitted amber sparks.

As it raised its head from the bullet storm, it was immediately hit head-on, and the body slid backward several meters directly!

Screech——

The impact sound was heart-stopping.

The sound of tires burning was sharp and urgent.

Big Ghost's long rifle flipped to the back of the elbow, its two sharp-clawed palms dug into the hood.

Its feet formed an arch, containing five shock-absorbing joints.

The Power Armor's legs plowed two upturned trenches.

Talia's armored vehicle was smoking, unable to move an inch further no matter how hard she pressed the gas pedal.

The engine roared again.

Big Ghost slowly retracted its right arm, and after a brief recharge, slammed down, directly blasting the connection of the car bumper.

Bam!

Another punch, hitting right at the front.

Bam!

The armored vehicle slightly left the ground, the front end caved in once again, as if it had collided into a solid concrete wall.

The row of alloy steel spikes also slipped out of Big Ghost's armor shell, revealing several insignificant holes.

Talia had already leaped out of the driver's seat.

Though she was always headstrong, she wasn't a reckless Shark Coin risking her life; all she had done was to buy time for Nando.
